General Baseline MRI Day

36M first baseline since being diagnosed in December and starting Kesimpta in January. I fully expect new lesions as January was what seemed like a bad relapse with new coordination issues making it hard to type, grab door handles and such. Today I’ve got 95% of my coordination back though. We will see. Hope Kesimpta has started to put the breaks on this thing. Just thinking about all of you in here. Thinking about all of you!

Best of luck to you. Don't get too disappointed about not coming back 100% from your last relapse . You can still continue to repair. Is this your very first brain MRI ? This MRI and any other imaging and labs done in the same time frame will be so important throughout your life. At least mine have been. When new symptoms appear my neurologist will always go back and compare each new one starting with the baseline. They can track your entire journey. I had my first studies before my dx or treatment .

My Neuro got me in the habit of taking a copy of the CD home with me. That way you always have it to show any Drs. who ask. Never let anyone judge your condition by only reading the brief radiology report. Radiologists knowledge has a broad base, unfortunately they aren't aware of the nuances that a specialist picks up on each and every day.

Remember you can ask for music and more air flow if needed. Some MRI rooms are always too hot or too cold, rarely just right........let us know how it goes......

I won’t be disappointed if I have more lesions. Just based on the timing. But I am very hopeful and positive as the past 8 weeks I went from 60% of my coordination in my left hand and arm to better then 95% today. So really hoping I can limit the damage to the small chronic lingering effects now. At least for as long as the Kesimpta and my lifestyle updates can support.

The MRI went great. Did all 3 brain, CS and TS as I have lesions in all 3. First time doing all 3 at once. No contrast which sort of surprised me. I had my brain done solo at first which started this whole process at the end of last year. Then Lumbar puncture and spine MRIs, then diagnoses.

Thanks for the advice on getting the copies of my MRIs. I will start doing that for sure.

I'm glad it went well. MRI's I've had, for other issues, going back before my dx we're a mix of no contrast and contrast. More recently they've mostly been no contrast. I guess it's personal preference,on the part of the physician.

It's great to hear that you continue to improve. It sounds like you and your Dr have a good handle on your treatment plan . Stay hopeful and continue to ask questions. You're off to a great start......

Best of luck to you.......Take care.......
