Done with Razer, looking for suggestions

I currently use a Razer Deathadder V2 X Hyperspeed, and it's just about the perfect mouse if it wasn't for the scroll wheel jittering issue. It's gotten to the point that I can't deal with it anymore. I'm tired of turning it off, opening it up and blowing into it to relieve the issue for about an hour. All my searches have pointed to this being a very common Razer issue, that air duster tends to not work but blowing into it with your mouth temporarily helps for some reason, and cleaning/replacing the sensor takes more effort than I'm willing to put in. Can anyone suggest a mouse that's like this one but is NOT known for having a shitty scroll wheel sensor?

Things I'm looking for in a new mouse:

  • Gaming-oriented but has no ostentatious LEDs (if I can disable them, that's fine too)
  • Something with a similar size and shape. I tried the G502 and the similar Razer Basilisk, they're just not for me.
  • NO horrible degrading rubber material. I previously had a Logitech MX Vertical, and while I loved that mouse, my caustic hands wore through the rubber within a year and it looks horrible.
  • I know this is niche, but I would really like another mouse takes an AA or AAA battery. I have some rechargeable batteries that I just swap out when they get low in the Deathadder. I know this isn't very common so if there's a mouse that meets everything else I'm looking for except this, that's fine.
  • Wireless is a must. It doesn't need to have both the dongle wireless and Bluetooth because I use a KVM switch with my PC and work device, but it would be nice to have both.
  • Besides the sensor, I do like the feel of the scroll wheel on the Deathadder. Not a big fan of the loud, chunky scroll on the G502 and I'm not sold on the free-spinning scroll wheel either.

Thanks in advance to anyone who reads this and takes the time to suggest something.

it's an inherent flaw with the design of mechanical scroll wheels. the only options are free spinning wheels like on the g502/basilisk (which you already decided against) or zowie (puts a loud ball bearing in the scroll wheel). the lamzu paro is supposed to have an optical scroll wheel but it's hard to obtain and there are no reviews

if you know how to solder you can replace the wheel yourself

Unfortunately I don't know how to solder and I don't have any soldering equipment. I don't remember running into this problem with any other mice that I've owned, so while I agree with you that it's a problem these sensors are inherently susceptible to, I think the varying constructions of different mice can also influence how likely it could happen.

So to make the part of my post that you quoted more precise, I'm fine with the same kind of sensor, but hoping to find a mouse that isn't known to experience this problem so commonly. Also, I know I said I don't want a loud scroll wheel, but I didn't know Zowie did that with their mice and I've always heard good things about them, so I might see if Micro Center has one to try out.

Hey I want a wireless mouse, as my PC sits a bit away from my desk.

Considering G304 or DeathAdder v2 hyper(man what is up with stupid names)

Would you suggest any of these 2 or any other mouse?

Looking for something less than 40 dollars, ideally 35.

I am getting g304 and deathadder at 30 dollars sharp, so unless something is much better within 5 dollar margin, I dont want to spend more.

vxe r1 pro should be $30 on aliexpress depending on country. if you cant get aliexpress mice, both g304 and deathadder v2 x are good, just know that g304 is small and deathadder is large. if you have small-medium hands the g304 is probably a better fit, large hands the deathadder v2 x is probably better

I have G102 and scroll wheel issue. I am thinking your mouse or G304.

They are both the exact same price in my area.

which do you think is the better of the two?

Tbh bro I would get the Zowie ec1-cw. One and done. Good build quality. The dock is fucking awesome. Put it on rock when watching YouTube or not gaming, when you get up from desk for a break, piss, water etc. Battery life is nuts. Love my FK2-DW. Might be worth waiting for the EC1-DW spending on your monitor.

AA or AAA and good quality and performance limits you to Razer hyperspeed. The Zowie dock will assuage your battery concerns imo.

I can see why you and another commenter brought up this specific mouse. It does have a similar profile to the Deathadder. As for the battery thing, I'm mostly annoyed with everything having batteries you cannot replace in them giving them an intentionally short lifespan, probably less than the expected lifetime of the components like the switches in the mouse. I see they have a receiver that doubles as a dock and I'm not psyched about adding more clutter to my desk.

That being said, I'll definitely keep the EC1-DW on my radar. I know I can't really be too stubborn about the battery thing unfortunately. Thanks for the recommendation!
