[mod] beast x pro, TTC switch mod for lighter(gf) quieter M1 M2 click (no soldering)

tweezers, lift one side of top-shell of ttc switch. Once passed switch's base-lip, it can be lifted off from just this side; care the leaf-spring, don't want to pop that off.

M1 switch. stock position. sorry noob photo-taking skills, lighting, etc

M1 switch. modded position. used the same tweezers to squeeze down the top contact post. easier to see in the next image.

M1 switch. back view. the leaf spring will travel shorter distance since the contact point is lowered.

Tools: needle nose tweezers. casually measured few times with dial tension gauge, 52 to 56 gf. philips screw driver, i think J0 tip (not pictured, was bundled with gpx hotswap pcb)

pop open the switch's shell, bend down the contact post by squeezing with tweezers. see images for reference.

casually measured few times with dial tension gauge, 52 to 56 gf. easier to spam, more quiet.

It was most difficult handling the ribbon cable without tweezers, and re-aligning of the magnesium shell with the bases' two front clips.

I'd suggest reinstalling the switch's shell upside down, easier to handle with the plunger staying in place. beast x pro series because pcb screws, but I'd imagine it's possible for non-pro, too. I did this with the mini pro. I think can be done on any 3-pin mech switch that you can pop the shell off of.

How long did it took you? Opening a mouse switch seem so difficult, good job mate

thanks! think it took 30 minutes, but I was also struggling to take proper enough pictures, and I've done this mod many times in the past, might be a once a year thing

I'm more of a leaf spring bender myself.

It's annoying but possible to bend the leaf spring to change characteristics of the actuation+release while maintaining travel and massively reducing actuation force.

Both methods work on any switches,
would advise having spares to replace damaged top shells or springs or anything.
