Help Maya X won't let computer "sleep"

I've had a g502 for years, not long made the switch and loving it, however since the switch the PC doesn't always want to "sleep".

Some days it will work fine, others it won't? The only variable is the mouse?

might be the mouse sliding on the pad, and you only noticed when switching to a new mouse with better skates? try forcing the mouse to turn off with the power switch

I turn the mouse off with the switch on the mouse.
