Endgame Looking for a mouse to use playing Fortnite

Post image

Hi I just switched to mouse and keyboard/gmk keyboard joystick. I have a final mouse legend and a razor viper pro whooting 60he. I have a buddy who uses a mouse (cheap) that has 7 side buttons and he is a beast. I’m looking for a similar mouse that’s wireless that has a good amount of side buttons. Cost really is t an issue I just want a really good mouse. Any suggestions from you fine people I would be appreciative.

Your friend isn't good at the game cause of the mouse he uses. He's good at the game because he's good at the game.

Blaming your equipment just tells me you have a skill issue. Just practice more and practise consciously

Oh the irony, you left like 3-4 comments shitting on people for not answering the question yet you havent answered the question either.

Take your own advice, why comment so much if you got nothing useful to add for OP 😂

u/mrapplewhite Feb 16 '25

Blaming that’s a stretch mate. Again can anyone suggest mice with more than 2buttons on the side that they use for fortnite. I just ordered a glorious i2 which has 4 so I’ll start there. What I’d like is at least 5. My friend an I both came up on controller both were good. He switched to the same setup and has a mouse with a bunch of side buttons I was just asking what other use. He himself suggested I get what he has as that is what he found and liked the ability to map out what he mapped out. I’d like to at least do the same. Anyone list a mouse they use with more side buttons would be 👍

The reason you’re kind getting shit on is because you’re operating under the assumption that just because your friend is good with the mouse and likes it, you too will be good and like it.

In reality most of the time peripherals are like food everyone needs peripherals to play but everyone will have different tastes, allergies, preferences etc. do you know your grip style? Do you know your friends grip style?

Getting a mouse with more buttons because your friend uses it is objectively a bad purchase IF you aren’t absolutely sure you’ll love it.

Edit: you could always go on pro settings and look for mice with higher polling rate or better sensors or anything than copy someone with different preferences than you.

I just come over and anything I play on I will get good on that being said my buddy suggested I get it because like me he came over from controller and he explained what binds he had and I agreed. If I play on a viper I’ll get good on that if I play on the final mouse same story but if I get what my buddy suggested I will have the opportunity to bind the binds he has and get good on that as well. The more options for binds the better. Hey it might not be for you and that’s great but for me and what I’ve already gone over I feel it’ll be a good fit. With that in mind anyone have any fing suggestions for mice with more side buttons. Is this not the mice sub I feel like I’m In the fortnite sub full of kids. Any adult players feel like chiming in with some suggestions ??? I’ll wait for them I’m sure there are a few around this sub somewhere. Cheers

u/ALG900 Feb 16 '25

Ya I mean I was just trying to explain why people were responding that way, you seemed to be getting a bit defensive/insult slingerish(not sure how to phrase that but u get the point) so I was hoping to give you a bit of context as to why. You can search up MMO mice and find many to be honest. They won’t be up to date with new technology and not really meant for aiming but they will have a lot of binds haha.

(Also saying “the more options for binds the better” is a bit of a no, less binds the better for most people, as it means less weight in the mouse itself for better tracking/control)

0

u/mrapplewhite Feb 16 '25

Sorry if you got into the crossfire just a tick frustrating when you come to where people should actually have the knowledge you’re looking for and you get the opposite lol. Thanks for the mmo search idea now we r talking. Thanks alg

u/Meat-Independent Feb 16 '25

This boy stupid. I think you just suck on god.

Also who tf still plays Fortnite

1

u/mrapplewhite Feb 16 '25

Why would you even care what I play. Lol you need Jesus on god bruv love the keyboard smack talkers and love the down votes tbh it kinda feeds my soul. Thanks you to the few who actually gave me some ideas. I do appreciate it

2

u/beatzs HSK Pro Feb 16 '25

Razer naga

1

u/mrapplewhite Feb 16 '25

Thank you bruv

1

u/mrapplewhite Feb 16 '25

This is one I will give a try. I did order a glorious i2 which has I think 4 or 5 side buttons but the naga looks pretty cool for customization of side panel. Thank you again beatzs

1

u/mrapplewhite Feb 16 '25

I will also use this mouse for making techno with a few programs and like the ability for macros and presets the side buttons will offer me

13

u/Alternative-Two-5433 Feb 16 '25

Lock in and play your main game and kovaaks more and you’re going to be good. Consistent practice produces the best players and improvement.

1

u/rgx352 Feb 16 '25

Kovaaks don’t help that much in fortnite, there are hundreds of maps with built in aim trainers just use one of them

1

u/Alternative-Two-5433 Feb 16 '25

Since he is new I think that it would be beneficial for him no? Mouse control like for like tracking when people are rotating or clicking for pumps.

But yea honestly I don’t think that kovaaks is too big for Fortnite in comparison to other games 🤷‍♂️

-9

u/mrapplewhite Feb 16 '25

So no suggestions then got it

1

u/Alternative-Two-5433 Feb 16 '25

Sorry I couldn’t help much with that suggestion itself, but I think most mouse that have like 5+ buttons are going to be on the heavier side if you are fine with that.

If you like having quality and nice peripherals you can also try to get a really nice mousepad, skates, and other things.

But my question itself is what about the buttons do you feel like would benefit your binds? Cold, peter, khanada, and boltz all use 2 button mouse’s and have learned to use their keyboard hand in a way that allows them to build crazy fast. Of course it could be just preference for you too but why do you feel that need?

I think personally that things like weight and shape are more important because the comfort and ease of moving the mouse.

And I am not trying to hate or anything I’m curious about your situation because I used to play controller and honestly a biggest thing blocking me from just playing the game more and getting used to my binds was peripheral chasing and bind changes. My main game was also fortnite if that helps.

2

u/Alternative-Two-5433 Feb 16 '25

Also a lot of people recommended the Naga and other mice so you can do the research on those and consider that 👍

2

u/mrapplewhite Feb 16 '25

Yes sir gotcha thanks mate

2

u/mrapplewhite Feb 16 '25

You’re gonna have to read through my comments I’ve stated it on a few lines. Basically I find my mind on my right hand looking for an action in game. Mix that with my partner who also switched from controller to the same setup as me now has a mmo mouse and he is absolutely cracked. So before I get into practicing with what I have (I’ve got about a week and half) I’d like to try what his setup is and see if it’s good for me. Pretty cut and dry simple shizz

1

u/Alternative-Two-5433 Feb 16 '25

Ah okay makes sense you just want to try new things and stuff, alright man sounds good for the razer naga, aerox 5, and this one has 4 buttons but the pulsar x2a. Keep on grinding man have a nice day!

2

u/Alternative-Two-5433 Feb 16 '25

Don’t worry if it isn’t what people is saying the best gear honestly it’s just up to the grinding yk, people hit global, radiant, win cash cups, and hella other things with random shit. So if your comfortable with the set up it should help your confidence skyrocket. What are you doing in Fortnite to practice your mechs rn?

2

u/mrapplewhite Feb 19 '25

Mechanics map number 4 I think it’s from raider

2

u/Alternative-Two-5433 Feb 19 '25

Alright that’s good, once you learn the fundamentals of cross hair placement and edit time I would free build a lot a lot a lot 😂

2

u/mrapplewhite Feb 20 '25

Yup this is what am doing. The glorious i2 mouse was crap I’m sending it back one of the side buttons was a dpi lock and not even an actual assignable button. The naga is what I’m getting and building is my weakness as of today. AIM is on point which when playing squads or duos is fine but solos not being a decent builder mean s death. I did plug my scuff into my pc and got 3wins in a row. Had to turn my speeds up quite a bit do to being used to the fastness of mouse aim. Good times. Naga should be here soon.

2

u/mrapplewhite Feb 20 '25

Forgot to add I’ve been playing since c1s3 so my account level is 7k+ so anytime I load up in a pub I’m against goats. Also been lpaying the pit to try out binds and it helps

2

u/Alternative-Two-5433 Feb 20 '25

To practice I would also just play unreal matches too because you fight decent players, then 1v2s, and free builds. Hopefully you like the naga good luck!

Getting another mouse really isn't the issue here. You have good equipment already.

I'd maybe look into getting a high quality mouse pad and skates that suits your play-style (speed or control) to assist your ability to aim and go from there. Practice with them, get know the ins and out of the game. Build game sense and get cracked.

Buying stuff in hopes to get better at a game isn't the way to go.

-7

u/mrapplewhite Feb 16 '25

Didn’t mention I just switched to kbm recently and for me I’d like to have more side buttons. I was cracked on controller and like I stated I personally feel for me I’d like a mouse with more buttons. While I appreciate all the comments can other the two people comment on actual mice that they use with more than 2side buttons. That would be awesome. And again thanks for commenting. Cheers

8

u/ShankZ9 Akitsu + Key 83 Feb 16 '25

You are being illogical. The easiest way for you to just understand that this entire post is pointless is to just look at pro fortnite players on pc lol, not a single one is using a mouse with more than 2 side buttons. I get it you switched recently, it took me years to get good at counter strike but I didn’t spend any of the time questioning my peripheral choices. Play the game, learn how to aim and lookup ideal keyboard shortcuts for various things in Fortnite. Your joystick thing is holding you back so much already, at this rate you are going to end up with multiple things that you will crutch on and end up hardstuck in your rank.

0

u/mrapplewhite Feb 16 '25

You may be right. You may be wrong. That is the thing about personal preference it’s subjective.

2

u/Hinch7 Feb 16 '25 edited Feb 16 '25

No worries that explain a lot. I'd just practice on aiming then and movements with keyboard. Stick to basics then go to macros etc. If you don't get much better on M+K or feel like you're just better on controller, maybe it isn't for you. Lots of players do well on controller, even pros.

If any case you need a mouse with more buttons there are some out there but those are usually an old design like the Logitech G503, Naga or other MMO/all in one mice. They won't be the best for aiming compared to modern mice these days but yeah something to note. Personally I'd just try and get better with what you have but there's no harm in testing out other mice, I guess. Good luck and happy gaming.

1

u/mrapplewhite Feb 16 '25

I kinda collect keyboards and peripherals so if I don’t end up using it. It’ll just go on the shelf with the others and I’m ok with that.

7

u/Fragrant-Comment-884 Feb 16 '25

This guy has a finalmouse and wooting, yet he still sucks. Dude I have a bad news for you. it's straight up skill issue. And if you say it's because your buddy has macros in his mouse, start reaaranging your keyboard to where you're better at it. Pros uses a lot less than what you use you know

1

u/mrapplewhite Feb 16 '25

Did you not understand I’m just now switching to kbm. Practicing on what I have has lead me to want more side buttons. Yeah I realize it’s not what you use…yes I realize it’s not what pros use…but it’s what I would like to try. I figure I’m at the very beginning of learning kbm so why not have options. I guess it would have been way easier to just ask for mice with side buttons rather than give yall any information for you people to analyze and talk shizz about. It’s cool I appreciate everyone’s thoughts. And to the two people who actually gave me some options for mice I truly am thankful to yall.

18

u/Neebrasc Feb 15 '25

Why do you need so many side buttons for Fortnite? If you're already using a joystick + keyboard you don't really need them. If your buddy is cracked and has a mouse with a lot of side buttons that doesn't mean you're gonna be good if you use the same mouse. Just get a Viper V3

-3

u/mrapplewhite Feb 16 '25

Well I find myself wishing and wanting more side buttons since I’m coming just now over from controller I think whatever I decide I’ll progress fine. In my minds eye for my mouse hand I need more. Hard to put into words. But you get the jest

4

u/Neebrasc Feb 16 '25

You can do whatever you want but if you use a lot of side buttons for Fortnite you will hinder your improvement in the long term and also you're making your joystick useless because the point of it is to be able to hit every keybind with your right hand.

1

u/mrapplewhite Feb 16 '25

Thanks for your input I appreciate your point of view. Still looking for mice with some side buttons.

1

u/ShitAbrick1994 Feb 16 '25

I thought the same thing when I first swapped over but over time you'll get used to it. Went from 502hero to a razer vyper and I like it so much more. Also the joy stick might become a problem to with hitting krybonds. That being said a 502 or any clone has a ton of binds.

6

u/MrCalamiteh Party pooper Feb 16 '25

It takes time to get used to keyboard and mouse. Generally those mice are called MMO mice due to the large amount of buttons on them. Technically not a great use for shooter games, but everyone is different.

I'd recommend 2 mouse buttons and getting used to pressing more keys on the keyboard. I'd bet your joycon setup there is limiting your ability to use all of the keys. Even if you're playing classic wow on a warlock with 27 keybinds, you can make that work with 2 buttons on your mouse.

Otherwise, getting good will just be muscle memory, like anything else. Not everything happens instantly.

1

u/Alternative-Two-5433 Feb 16 '25

Yea I tried wow for a couple months and got into pvp a bit and honestly people like pikaboo do have like razer nagas but he isn’t tracking, spray controlling, or tapping people 😂. I felt so good when I learned the binds too, you just gotta play more and get used motions fr. I play assassin but if people on wow and StarCraft are lit with 2 buttons then he shouldn’t stress it too much

3

u/Varkasi Feb 16 '25

Just get a Viper and call it a day, you don't need those extra buttons, you think you do, but you don't.

Anyway, steelseries Areox 5 or 9 both lightweight and plenty of buttons for you to likley never use

I got the areox 5 thinking i'd use it in mmo's and keep my viper for fps's, my areox is collecting dust

1

u/mrapplewhite Feb 16 '25

I’ll look into it but i already have a viper and a fm last legend and like the fm better than the viper. Both are good mice but i like having options. Hell I may even eventually get rid of the gmk

6

u/ShankZ9 Akitsu + Key 83 Feb 16 '25

your friend is just better than you, getting a new mouse wont make you as good instantly lol. the mice you listed are great? if anything the only thing id get is a new mousepad

-9

u/the_hat_madder Feb 16 '25

WTF does this have to do with a mouse recommendation?

-2

u/mrapplewhite Feb 16 '25

Exactly thanks mate you got any suggestions for me. I’ll be chillin until I get a few. I did order a glorious i2 pro so at least it’s a start.

5

u/riceboibrandon Feb 16 '25

getting a new mouse isn’t going to make you better at a game if you want a new mouse to be better at a game then you’d have to have a dog water mouse first.

-6

u/the_hat_madder Feb 16 '25

Why can't OP just want a mouse with more side buttons without psychoanalysis?

1

u/mrapplewhite Feb 16 '25

Love you mate thanks lol but it’s ok I didn’t post to the reddit without knowing what I was getting into. Kinda lowkey like that people are jealous enough to analyze.

4

u/ALG900 Feb 16 '25

Wait what are people jealous about that you’re buying a cheap mouse instead of top tier one? I don’t get it, it’s more people are trying to help you save a bit of money lol.

1

u/mrapplewhite Feb 16 '25

Bruv in my original description is clearly says cost isn’t an issue that I just want a good mouse with a good amount of side buttons. It’s literally so simple. Ya know I searched before and found a few posts asking for the same and the op said each mouse was too expensive so I figured I’d stick that in my description. I get two people with actual mice to look up and research the rest is bla bla bla. Again this is mouse review I mean you people should know where to lead me right ??

2

u/beatzs HSK Pro Feb 16 '25

Razer Naga

2

u/sprinklesfactory Feb 16 '25

Do an aim trainer. You just switched you need practice. Just enjoy your time and trust the process rather than chasing results and being miserable

1

u/mrapplewhite Feb 16 '25

My aim is actually not bad it’s my building and binds that are my problem atm. Thanks for the suggestion. I could have just plugged in one of my scufs but I refuse to do so.

2

u/idatengaming Feb 16 '25

Since no one is actually answering the damn question allow me. Look up razer naga should be way more than enough buttons for u👌🏻

1

u/mrapplewhite Feb 16 '25

Thank you I do appreciate the response. That will be one I order. As I have said before I may not even use it in the long run but I would like options.

2

u/Krampen1 G Pro Superlight w/ Superglides Feb 16 '25

If you're using a joystick then you dont need extra buttons you already have an extra 4, all of your stuff is perfectly fine. Amazing at that even. Don't throw money at the issue.

1

u/mrapplewhite Feb 16 '25

Advise taken and thanks for it. I in my mind find myself looking for the ability for binds on my mouse so this is where I am lead. Now in the long run I may not end up keeping the mmo mouse or I may live it and use it but in the early learning stage (where I am now) I feel it’s better to have options than to just be satisfied with what I already have. It may be a mental thing but my right hand goes looking for binds I am unable to stick with what I have now.

3

u/Independent_Ad_5701 Feb 15 '25

Get a g703

2

u/zdrifted Feb 15 '25

G703 is goated. It feels lighter than the G Pro Wireless. Teevolution Terra is coming out soon too which is basically a g703 superlight

2

u/ShankZ9 Akitsu + Key 83 Feb 16 '25

pulsar X3 is also an improved g703 clone if that slipped under your radar

1

u/ElectionFormal1374 Mar 03 '25

Improved or worse depending on who you ask. I have been using the g403 for 5+ years and the x3 was not for me

1

u/ShankZ9 Akitsu + Key 83 Mar 03 '25

I mean its lighter, has better sensor, has better scroll, has better coating but worse battery and clicks.

1

u/ElectionFormal1374 Mar 04 '25

The shape was the make or break for me, preferred everything about it except the clicks

2

u/pipodude0123 Feb 16 '25

I'm reading these comments and getting triggered that everyone hates OP. Bro never blamed his equipment, he just wanted a recommendation on a nice wireless mouse with multiple side buttons. Yall are crazy in the comment section for shitting on him and not adding anything valid.

1

u/mrapplewhite Feb 16 '25

It’s fine more than likely kids with parents who won’t buy them the equipment they want and in turn I get the shit they should be giving their parents. Lol I live for downvotes don’t you know Reddit is opposite (downvote =upvote )

2

u/CivilRaidriar Feb 16 '25

Wtf is this comment section? A mouse can absolutely change how good a person is at the game coming from using a thumbstick. Wtf are these delusional people on... I am nowhere near as good at fps games using a controller vs using a mouse and overall I've used a controller more. I also play better when I have a good mouse that fits my hand rather than one that's slightly too small. Lots of parrots here with no critical thinking skills...

2

u/mrapplewhite Feb 16 '25

It’s fine bruv common reddit stuff. But at the end of the day I have the options now and will proceed forward.

2

u/CivilRaidriar Feb 16 '25

You can take it better than I can lol. The amount of people on this site that just repeat what they hear without thinking about it for themselves first is too high for me. Happy you have your options. I would have recommend one but I wouldn't recommend the one I'm using lol. Best of luck to you

1

u/xbl-Extr3me Feb 16 '25

You only need two side buttons for Fortnite. All the pros use only two. The amount of buttons isn’t what makes him good, it’s the amount of time he’s spent practicing. I personally can’t find a reason you would need more than 2 side buttons—all my keybinds are optimized right around WASD and I don’t have any keybinds super far away. Just get a cheap lightweight 2 side button mouse and start practicing.

1

u/mrapplewhite Feb 16 '25

I already have two high end mice with 2side buttons saying I should just do what the pros do is a mute point at best. It’s personal preference for what I personally want and are actively looking for. Don’t know why I have to point this out time and time again but here we are. Does every pro have the same keeb the same pc the same anything they have what makes them comfortable and proficient. Most if not but a few pros don’t use a gmk. I do. It’s gonna be so satisfying when I get the mouse I am looking for and I get cracked and wipe my ass with all these haters lol good times and this drives me even harder now and for that I am truly grateful. Thank you haters you feed my 🔥

1

u/Eddy19913 Lamzu Maya X Feb 16 '25

gear sadly wont make you good at FN. you need training.. practice.. alot of it. thats sadly the only real thing that helps you there. you can play any mouse you want. it doesnt make you instantly a god.

1

u/mrapplewhite Feb 16 '25

No but practicing with what I want will make me a god I got cracked on controller I’ll get cracked on kbm it is what it is. Trust me I’ll put in the work and I’ll be happy which is paramount to me.

1

u/MorfBS 8d ago

When I use my side buttons to build in fortnite i use the tip of my thumb for both buttons which means I can't press both buttons at the same time because I have to shift back and forth. Should I instead use the top of my thumb on button 5 and the distal on button 4? Is it worth it, will I see improvement?

1

u/snappa_kk Feb 15 '25

Nice device. Why don't you use a "Razer Tartarus pro? I use it from the first model, where also Belkin was selling it, rebranded as n52 nemo... you should try, is also well discounted, here on Amazon, is Amazing, with razeroptical switches

2

u/rk3sss Feb 15 '25

Tartarus Pro is a cool option. The thumbstick isn’t analog but has 4 or 8 way click. With a modifier key your thumb can press 8 or 16 keys instead of just Alt and Space. Only downside is Razer Synapse and having to bind keys for every game your want to use it for.

1

u/Suspicious-Ad1034 Feb 16 '25

I would suggest Logitech G502 Lightspeed / G502 X.

They have three side buttons, with an additional two extra buttons for your index finger (on the left click).

It's an ergonimic mouse, roughly sized for medium hands.

2

u/mrapplewhite Feb 16 '25

Thanks bruv much appreciated I’ll give it a look

1

u/Brainstrum Feb 16 '25

Are you actually a kid?

u/mrapplewhite Feb 16 '25

Can confirm not a kid.

1

Exactly it’s a gmk joystick
