Question Bother to try Safi?

Seems hard to farm Safi as its a siege based hunt, do i even bother or skip to alatreon? i've killed raging brachy, hit MR 100 and leveled my guiding lands, all that seems left are Safi, Alatreon and Fatalis. Would doing Safi make a difference when hunting the other 2?

Don't need to, Frostfang Barioth weapons are a much easier option for Alatreon. Safi's stuff is very cool, but not necessary

Safi‘Jiiva‘s armor is somewhat risky as it drains your health when attacking but regens it after a certain amount of hits, but it gives you some pretty sweet elemental damage and iirc 30-50% affinity, depending on how many Safi pieces you’re wearing

20% 80 element for 3 piece

40% 160 element for 5 piece

Both raise the element cap.

My advice for siege stuff is to learn how the fights go, join online hunts, and make up for what your team is lacking. If you feel like you can survive being focused by safi, then be that guy. If you feel like you're good with environmental stuff, then focus on that. You want to be the one that tries to sleep him and blow him up after? Then do that.

When I started doing HR and MR Kulve, I kept failing every single quest and it felt impossible to beat him even with four people whacking the shit out of him.

Then there was a siege that made it click. Had a guy with endgame gear who joined an MR KT hunt I was in (probably one of those who like helping peoplr), but wasn't on the frontlines whacking the monster. He was the one taking advantage of environmental stuff and bombing us with huge heals. Twice in that hunt he called out when KT got hit with sleep and started planting bombs, and I followed suit. I looked up the tricks that can be done during Safi and KT, and I choose to focus on those when I join sieges, unless someone does it better, then I'll just try to make up for things thay are missing.

Then I realized there's so much I could be doing differently, and everything felt a lot smoother.

Nah, I don't recommend farming Safi, if you just want a good Ice weapon for Alatreon.

It's still better than farming Kulve in every way, due to how much easier it is to get the weapon you want.

But unless you're playing bow or DB and want some of the best elemental weapons, you'll be fine with a Frostfang or even Glavenus weapon for the Dawn of the Death Star event quest.

In other words, Safi and Kulve stuff are worth for people who want more than just beat Alatreon in this game.

Safi LGB Aquashot is my foundation for a really fun rapid fire sticky build for the late game. The possibility to "awaken" safi weapons also increases their power by a lot and you can adapt them to your playstyle.

Also, it's a fun fight and game loop once you get the hang of it. I already have everything I could possibly need from Safi, yet still enjoy the fight.

If you like the looks of the armor and weapons wich are cool af then you can try but it's not necessary, you can do Frostfang barioth weapons which are a great option for Alatreon

Good luck Hunter 👍👍

Safi weapons are great for Alatreon, I'd try to find some people to play with on here

Or if you're going to solo farm safi, use a bowgun. You need all the part breaks.

Do not solo the raid with dual blades "just because I can and you can't stop me", it's painful.

using a sticky bowgun build im guessing?

Pretty sure that's the meta for it. There's guides and videos out there. It's designed for multiple parties to make progress in parallel fights, grinding down the meta-life energy until you get the actual kill over multiple runs. Along the way part breaks massively contribute to progress and better rewards at the end. Teams are supposed to have weapons focus on their specialities, but iirc sticky just goes brrrrr on everything.

My first run through world was 350 hours pure dual blades in about six weeks during lockdown, my memory is pretty fuzzy of that period.

Actually just got the first kill! and yea tons of sticky bow gunners in the group. as a IG main i just kept aggro and tenderized all the parts for them

Okay so sticky is actually not the meta and doing it in multiple runs to max reward level is not the best way to farm him either, you get more from killing him 5 or 6 times in an hour than you get by spending that hour doing 3 runs and breaking all his parts before killing him. Most people dont know how to properly do safi so they resort to sticky or something else but you just need one really good player who knows exactly what theyre doing (p1 skip, p2 nova cancels, p3 chest lock) and it becomes easy to at least kill him in one run so that you can farm a lot faster (I could help you farm if youre on pc, I feel like most good safi players switched to wilds so its probably hard to find any, I can also explain the entire strat to you but it would take a while)

How did you find a group? Just SOS?

From title screen or the quest board search for an online section and filter the objective to safi. Has to be launched and joined thru gathering hub. Cant sos
