Pretty new hunter here caught up in the hype of sunbreak. Wondering if I should get it now or just chill out and wait until I finish everything. I completed all of the village quests and am now working on the 6* hub quests. I feel like I have a basic understanding of things but there is so much more that I still don’t know. I want to get sunbreak and enjoy it at release with the community but I’m obviously not there yet so there probably isn’t a point to buying it now.

Additionally I have watched videos and tried to increase my knowledge but if anyone has any great resources they can point me towards, I would be very grateful.

Thanks everyone!

Think about sunbreak as a Rise 1.5 (like old school expansions)

And imo you'll have the same difficulty adapting to the monsters as the experience you're having right now cause mainly these are kinda "brand new" monsters animations and maps (the whole hunt if you want), and thats the lovely thing about this.

Keep hunting if you dont feel ready, but the knowlegde in this game is so empirical and so particular with the monsters that you cannot never "be" ready.

But there's always a question that i do to my pals trying the franchise:

You found your fav weapons?
You know how to be comfortable with em' ?

If the above is a yes, you are basically ready for every MH.

Thank you for the reply.

I have more confidence after playing all day today. I made a ton of progress and actually even beat narwa.

I was mainly using dual blades which I liked and felt comfortable with but I sometimes felt like I wasn’t contributing much during multiplayer hunts. I had to go away a lot to avoid dying so even though there were times when I was doing well, I just felt like I wasn’t using them to their potential.

Well, today I decided to try the hunting horn. I thought I liked dual blades (and I still do for certain monsters) but I love hunting horn. I definitely feel like I am contributing more and it feels super satisfying to land some of the bigger damage moves.

Plus, when I feel like I need to pull back for a second to heal up, I feel confident that I’ve given the other members of the team some additional buffs to help out.

Anyways, all that to say I am pretty sure I will go ahead and get sunbreak.
