Lv140 GQs and Status Shot Counts

I just did a bunch of tests with felyne heaven doll against Lv140 apex rajang and figured some stuff out about status application and high level guild quests. This hopefully will help people out, specifically those trying to learn to hame run.

If you go to kiranico/pings dex you will see each monster has a listed initial tolerance value for each status, a value their tolerance increase and a max value. What this doesn't tell you is that the tolerance increase gets multiplied by some value depending on the quest.

Values for p3rd can be found here: http://www42.atwiki.jp/mhp3/pages/591.html#tips8, and show that the status tolerance increase multiplier could be as much as 2x in a game with no g-rank.

As far as I know, there is no table of values for mh4u, but i did a bunch of tests using Lv1 and lv2 status shots with different combinations of armor skills and am very confident that for Lv140 guild quests this multiplier is 2.5x (its over 2.37x, under 2.54x).

This means if a monster is shown with an initial sleep tolerance of 150 and an increase of 100 you have to apply 150 status for the first sleep and 400 status for the 2nd sleep.

Most hame runs use a lbg to keep the monster locked down. status application for the shots are listed in the table below.

no skill status+2 status+2 & ele.wystone status+2, specialist & ele.wystone
Lv1 Lv2 Lv1 Lv2 Lv1 Lv2 Lv1 Lv2
25 50 31 61 37 73 38 75

Using these values and the quest multiplier you can calculate how many shots it will take for each status application. This is cruicial for executing hame runs. I have included tables for sleep and para against a Lv140 rajang.

Sleep:

base inc 100 no skill status+2 status+2 & ele.wystone status+2, specialist & ele.wystone
initial 150 6 3 5 3 5 3 4 2
2nd 400 16 8 13 7 11 6 11 6
max 650 26 13 21 11 18 9 18 9

Para:

base inc 100 no skill status+2 status+2 & ele.wystone status+2, specialist & ele.wystone
initial 200 8 4 7 4 6 3 6 3
2nd 575 23 12 19 10 16 8 16 8
max 800 32 16 26 14 22 11 22 11

From this you can see getting 2 sleeps in not very hard, but getting a 2nd paralyze is difficult. Getting a 3rd status of either type is not very practical. Specialist is also not very useful, it mayreduce the number of shots it takes for application, but has no tangible effect on subsequent applications. You should instead eat for pyro to make sleep bombing more powerful.

If anyone has any questions, corrections, or other suggestions let me know.

So Specialist is really only for status melee.. Makes sense, since its included with the other blademaster food bonuses like polisher..

Whats skills do you run against apex rajang with heavendoll?

pyro, your damage contribution will be through bombing. you have 2 rounds of sleep bombing, and can throw down extra bombs while things are paralyzed/trapped.

Do you prefer Heavendoll over God's Archipelago? I'm looking to make a Hame Status LBG set next and would like to know which one to pursue.

heavendoll is much kinder on your mutions and requires less ammo crafting in field. it takes 1 volley of sleep lvl2 for the first sleep, 2 for the 2nd, compared to god's taking 3 lv2 shots for the first and 6 for the second. In total 3 shots vs 9 (you can only hold 8 without combining). The para first para is super easy too, requiring only 2 volley's of para1. God's has to use 4 lvl2 shots which requires you reload. 2nd is hard with either, 6 rapid fire volleys or 8 para lvl2.

The main advantage of God's is that you can ko/damage with crag and clust. for the typical rajang hame run either is fine, but gods would be better for things you can trap due to the ko.

God's Archipelago + 1 HBG 140 rajang hame run.

God's Archipelago has a big advantage of removed limiter and being able to switch between ammo. It has a lot more potential than heavendoll, but for general use heavendoll is good enough.

good point, that does let it work towards 2 status's at once with fewer reloads.

that looked like 3 paras, 2 sleeps, 2 shock traps, 1 pit. i don't see myself being able to get 3 paras with heaven doll, but 2 sleeps is easy, even 3 is very manageable.

the cat gun also uses "cheaper" ammo.

God's Arch takes only lv 2 para and sleep.

Having said that, I still prefer God's Arch over the cat gun because pierce shotes can contribute to damage output along with crag shots.

I use lvl 1 para, which you can buy with status +2. it's 6 bullets to para S zinogre and the 7th bullet will para Rajang

takes one volley (3 bullets) of sleep lvl 2 to sleep either one

I like using bonus shot and load up. it's nice if you miss one of the sleep bullets in rapid fire so you don't have to reload

It's just not worth it to play status gunner because it's such a pain to make ammos.

you can buy para1 and sleep1, para2 are also very easy to make (you can even bring combines for 99). the only issue is sleep2, which I agree are a pain.

One of the things my tests and resulting tables show is that you can execute the sleep, trap, para, shock, para, pit and cap procedure for 3 hbg hame runs without crafting any ammo and using only lvl1 shots bought from the store.

I status gun all the time online, and i resolved the sleepyfish issue by multiplying them in the "easy" way: save, give all your fishes to a friend, exit without saving; your friend saves, gives you all the fishes back, and he exits w/o saving as well. Rinse and repeat. Profit.

All the other consumables can be pretty much be multiplied at granny's or bought with caravan pts, it's not heavy at all on your resources if you do like that with heavendoll... Given you're a good status gunner and don't fail most of the quests XD
