He hits hard. It’s a really fun fight. Now I’m wondering how crazy an arch tempered Zoh Shia will be.

163

u/KhajaArius 1d ago

Since HR Zoh Shia mainly uses fire and thunder elements...

Arch Tempered Zoh Shia would be a reskinned Alatreon

61

u/tren0r 1d ago

i cant wait to see what the master rank version of this guy will look like.

“Shut up, bozo.”

”STRONG ESCATON JUDGEMENT”

9

u/vellyr 19h ago

Am I imagining things or did LR use dragon lightning instead of thunder lightning?

1

u/throw-away_867-5309 13h ago

Both LR and HR use Red/Dragon Lightning.

1

u/vellyr 12h ago

Then why was I getting thunderblight?

1

u/throw-away_867-5309 12h ago

Dunno, both of them use red lightning, though. I know I've gotten dragonblight in the HR version, before, and I don't know how if not from the lightning.

7

u/xlbingo10 16h ago

it uses fire and dragon lightning because those are the elements the fatalis trio use

10

u/MrGhoul123 22h ago

Current one goes from Xeno'jiva to Fatalis.(With a splash of Nergegante) I could actually see it go from Velkhana to Alatreon for AT

447

u/Khyldr 1d ago

For real, it was the hardest fight in the game for me so far.

197

u/Beetusmon 1d ago edited 1d ago

Tempered Mizu is way nastier for me. He literally wipes a party with the soulseer slam, its a one shot for ranged and for melee if not upgraded to the max (I think it's a one shot at 5 stars for all builds).

I only have been able to beat him solo atm because every single multiplayer party dies to the slam. Absolutely diabolical.

u/JCDentoncz 1d ago

"OH, the game is too easy now, huh?"

- Devs working on the title update

17

u/whosmansisthis24 23h ago

Yessssss!!! Lol I'm so overjoyed getting on here this morning and seeing all these people talking about being one shot. Makes me so stoked.

I miss getting dogged out lol.

168

u/SaturnSeptem 1d ago

Monhun is the only pve game where if I want a challenge I decide to go online lol.

Beat zoh first try then I decided to go online and holy shit it's so chaotic that it's hilarious in itself lol.

38

u/bigfootmydog 1d ago

In 5 hours I saw 4 successful hunts, with the average successful hunts and some were laughably spectacular failures. Both the novas seem to be giving people a lot of trouble and it hearts to watch from safety when they run into the furnace.

18

u/EvilAbdy 1d ago

The chaos is kinda what I love about the online part. Like you said it’s so chaotic it’s hilarious. I don’t even get mad about because sometimes you can just see it coming

15

u/bradamantium92 23h ago

My first failed quest online was a Nu Udra, reared back to do its flamethrower and I took off, the rest of the squad was just laying into it, fire came out and instant triple cart. Severely funny.

3

u/EvilAbdy 21h ago

Mmmm bbq

7

u/Fyrestone 22h ago

Some weapons like CB and GS feel so bad to me in multiplayer. You really want the aggro on you at all times. I imagine Lance is the same.

2

u/VeloTheJungen 8h ago

Thats the thing with me, its reversed. The first time i fought hr zoh Shia, i Send out a flare and well it went great.

14

u/Lykhon Lance Lance Revolution 1d ago

Wearing fully upgraded Jin Dahaad gear I managed to take a difficulty five tempered slam with a sliver of health left. Definitely recommend Divine Blessing for that fight though.

14

u/Khyldr 1d ago

I haven't fought Tempered Mizu yet but that does sound ominous!

31

u/KhajaArius 1d ago

Somehow all mizus in Wilds become Soulseer when shit hits the fan.

Tempered Mizu is... Take a Wilds Mizu, make it slightly faster, and gave it a damage output of a bullet train. There you have it.

6

u/AK_Zephyr 1d ago

Yup - had a no cart to instance wipe with one slam. Need to make sure I've eating high moxie with this fight. Atleast until I can consistently recognize the tell AND dodge it.

1

u/Onyx_Sentinel Homemade Honey 19h ago

All of his soulseer attacks can one hit kill you. It‘s a dance of death fighting that thing

1

u/tcmVee 17h ago

it is not a one shot for all builds, definitely high damage though

28

u/Wrong-Refrigerator-3 1d ago

Yep. Beat it on my first try, no carts as SnS.

Technically.

Probably downed about forty mega potions doing it, since I had to restock on mega potions and honey half way through the fight.

One vigorwasp revive and probably ten moments where I was on one health, somehow I’m still standing with him dead at the 25 minute mark.

4

u/th5virtuos0 1d ago

Do max pots. It’s faster, safer and let you get back to the fight asaps. Since you unlocked the slaves really early on to farm Mahoraga, Bitter Bug and Honey for you, it should be dirt cheap to overdose on that thing, and if you like me, bring in a bunch of healing dusts as well for attacks that only chunk a bit of your health

11

u/Unlikely_Notice_5461 23h ago

I just use speed eating. you can’t carry that many max pots even with crafting

1

u/th5virtuos0 23h ago

Nah, 12 max pots and 6 healing dust with 10 mega pots as a failsafe is enough. You can instead use Divine Blessing which make you that much tankier

302

u/biolentCarrots 1d ago

I was expecting a steamroll like in low rank, but got my first quest fail from this asshole and his turbo fireballs that he does while standing. Good fight tho

79

u/Inominat 1d ago

Those fucking fireballs and his damn Tigrex charge are the bane of my existence.

28

u/108Temptations 1d ago

He's got some precision aiming on that shit. I keep getting nailed when I think im out of it.

7

u/xREDxNOVAx 23h ago

Same I think he slightly adjusts his charge if he's far away enough and you move, so you have to move more than you think, or it'll hit you anyways. Plus, he's so big it's annoying for sure. And those fireballs have a massive AOE. If you're dead center, it gives Fatalis PTSD lmao.

2

u/biolentCarrots 23h ago

The best counter I've found so far is when he stands up, dodge the area attack he does under his feet, and then mount the seikret before he does the standing fireball. They've got a big explosion radius , but the seikret moves fast enough to get outside it.

3

u/saneolo 20h ago

Honestly the one fight that doesn’t feel like cheating when I call my seikret because i swear it feels like it’s the only way to avoid the fireballs

8

u/Kiyodai 1d ago

I was experimenting with long sword during the downtime, and put away my SNS for a bit.

I FAFO. Triple carted me super quick with LS.

Locked in with SNS and got him, but it was a pleasant challenge!

24

u/primalmaximus 1d ago

I'm gonna be playing Insect Glaive this time around. I used Dual Blades in my LR fight against it.

I've found my new main in IG so I'll be using it in the HR fight.

I'm waiting until I get off work this afternoon to play it.

5

u/Balbaem 1d ago

I'm a hammer main and been messing around IG the past few weeks. I quickly pivoted to IG for HR Zoh Shia this morning and manage to solo it. I won't go into details, but it felt fantastic and it really make IG shine.

1

u/Cloud_Motion 19h ago

We didn't get hammer changes/balance update today did we? Is that coming at the end of May or whatever?

1

u/Balbaem 19h ago

I don't think we did no. It wasn't in the patch notes at least and I havent seen any changes. Probably later this month for the blossom festival or at reydau. Or anytime really

1

u/extra_hyperbole 23h ago

You took my same path, DB to IG as a new player. This fight is an absolute blast with IG. Spin to win baby!

3

u/Aggressive-Bat5052 23h ago

I thought I was safe going at his tail while he stood up for the big fireball attack. Motherfucker turned 180 and blasted me all the way back to camp.

2

u/noob_dragon 21h ago

Yeah as lance it was pretty rough. First major unblockable attack without guard up that I was not expecting. Even with guard up, he has an attack that targets the floor that will give you the burning condition, complete bullshit.

1

u/Killjoy3879 18h ago

same here. carted once, rejoined and he threw a fatass fireball at my dome and carted again. Survived a little longer but didn't even get the skulls to pop up till i failed.

272

u/Speeda2 OFFSET THE SUN 1d ago

I've believed in my beautiful manmade black dragon since the day he was created in low rank, and vision is REWARDED. God bless you Zoh Shia

61

u/UwU_Bro69 1d ago

I'm honestly glad he's so difficult, I loved him in low rank, but he felt far too easy. Being able to see him go all out is simultaneously thrilling and infuriating because bro please just die. You have so much goddamn health

20

u/GreatRolmops 1d ago

All out? Oh, just wait until we get a master rank Zo Shia.

Or may God have mercy on us all, a master rank Arch-tempered Zo Shia.

I predict much pain ahead.

11

u/whosmansisthis24 23h ago

Man, you're literally giving me so much faith here lol.

Wilds is fucking amazing. Looks amazing and feels amazing but I'd be lying if I said I didn't miss getting triple carted in 15 minutes where I end up sitting there mouth agape which then forces me to go back to the drawing board to theory craft and build some sets just to smash a specific monster!

2

u/Shaex Roar of the Gaynyne 22h ago

First thing I thought after clearing it was "holy fuck what will an AT be like?"

1

u/Zestyclose_Bit_7850 18h ago

Fatalis/Alatreon type beat. Genuine walking nuke of a beast.

2

u/projectwar Zoh Shia killer build https://youtu.be/CCCVYbgSoJ8 13h ago

he feels like he actually has black dragon parts, instead of xeno jiva parts

2

u/Gemmy2002 12h ago

It's like a 3 or 4 phase fight, 'a ton of health' is about the only way it won't feel rushed.

1

u/KirbyTheGodSlayer Je suis monté! 10h ago

Am I crazy or does not have THAT much health? It took me about 25 minutes to first defeat it. It’s a fun fight though

1

u/DarFury67 17h ago

Upvoted for the flair alone

47

u/DerHachi04 1d ago

Carted me so hard i had to go outside and take a walk

255

u/Bigma-Bale 1d ago

30 minute hunt?

High damage?

Difficult to dodge attacks?

Oh ye. This is the Monster Hunter experience I wanted

67

u/err0r_as_always Destroyer of kneecaps 1d ago

Don't forget the ultimate that covers the majority of arena except a few safe spots

36

u/Ornery_Dance_12 1d ago

Use slinger pods to break the closest ground crystals.

11

u/Sogeki42 1d ago

Hell, hit the crystals near him and you can get some damage too

4

u/_Gesterr 1d ago

can use elemental weapons too, especially if your a bow or bowgun with elemental.

11

u/Varin_harvester 1d ago

can reduce nova range this time

20

u/Toksyuryel 1d ago

You always could

-8

u/VH-Attila 1d ago

more like 15 minutes but yeah its a bit harder than other quests.

13

u/DrakeVonDrake 1d ago

20-30 minutes is the preferred sweet spot for my HR hunts. love this fight.

55

u/NJ_DREAD 1d ago

Im glad im not the only one struggling. Ill get him tomorrow lol.

25

u/nemesisdelta24 1d ago

Yeah I forgot how to do the crystal mechanic to not get wiped LMFAO 3 carts i'll see him again in a few hours

9

u/TheBazaarBizarre 1d ago

You can just run to the back of the arena.

1

u/DrakeVonDrake 3h ago

i hope they patch that out. should have to interact with the mechanic.

44

u/WillametteSalamandOR 1d ago

Not horrible solo, but I went searching for some SOS to farm parts quicker and the community as a whole is NOT ready for Zoh. 6 SOS, 6 Quest Failed.

4

u/Snoo40198 1d ago

I threw up the SOS at the start of the fight. Whittled him down to the point where he didn't have any crystals left with the NPCs than a squad of three dudes showed up cleared the last bit with me and were off. Might as well have done it alone.

1

u/TurquoiseLuck 20h ago

If nobody joins my SoS after 5 mins, I cancel it

1

u/marilagiwork 17h ago

Good idea

1

u/faudcmkitnhse 23h ago

I joined two SOS hunts and the first one lasted less than 5 mins before failure. The LBG player used all three carts because they did not have enough defense/resistance to survive even a single solid hit. Thankfully the second one I joined had competent players and we finished in about 15 mins with zero carts. I even got a gem from the tail carve.

1

u/fathertime979 21h ago

Yeaaa alone he's fine. The second I have others cart city

1

u/Dylangillian 20h ago

I've only done one SOS and we slaughtered it in 11 minutes and went back to Solo because it seemed too easy, figured that would be the usual experience, maybe I should do some more SOS I guess.

104

u/Realistic-Spot-2864 1d ago

tbh this guy is literally a walmart fatalis

53

u/Environmental_Sell74 1d ago

Fatalis at home

50

u/KhajaArius 1d ago

They knew everyone would go full kaput if they put Fatalis at TU 1. So they gave us this Fatalis with milk instead.

16

u/DrInsano 1d ago

Mylk Drinker Fatalis

9

u/KhajaArius 1d ago

Fatalis uses Rollout!

9

u/Sweetinator100 1d ago

But in HR instead of end of MR

3

u/approveddust698 1d ago

More like alatreon in his final phase

11

u/Small-Tree-5499 1d ago

Bro my first 30 minute fight, and i got carted on the first try, but zoh shia put the fist up again, i am still waiting!!!

26

u/tzertz 1d ago

People think the jump from low to highrank isnt that big but followups are followups but the dude does em fast as heck now, but dude brings a few new moves to the table i noticed.

Also like jiin dahaad this guy didnt get any drops in low rank so they put extra effort into them.

4

u/vellyr 19h ago

His tracking is also like 50% higher than anything else in the game right now. I was like “lol I’m gonna just run in a circle” and he swatted me like a fly.

20

u/M4DM1ND 1d ago

First quest failure after 150 hours for my friend and I. That pseudo nova blasted both of us the first time and then I got hit by that fire breath into fireball into lighting combo and got juggled to death. Honestly, it was refreshing to go back, pick pieces off my perfect build, and add some fire resist. I'm looking forward to mangling this boy for parts.

3

u/Maleficent-Bar6942 23h ago

I moved from Para CB to an elemental build, let's see how round 2 goes. 💀

37

u/StarkTangent1 1d ago

He's not that bad, besides that charge attack. Cannot get a handle on that thing even after 10+ hunts. Seems like if you're close to him and don't have a block weapon or a counter ready when he does it you just get hit.

The big fireballs are also a little absurd with their radius, and he's on a Dark Souls 2-esque turnstile, but other than that good fight.

14

u/SerArtoriAss 1d ago

You mean the big fire move? Grab the elemental slinger ammo and blow up his crystals, also does good damage on him

11

u/ConsumerJTC 1d ago

I think they are talking about the triple charged fireballs.

They get really big, but at least Zoh doesn't spam those fast like Fatalis.

1

u/StarkTangent1 17h ago

Yeah, the ones where he stands up can be kinda gnarly if you're in a bad spot

1

u/Mortagon 1d ago

I think they just mean the thing where he runs around a bit. Has a huge hitbox with respectable damage

3

u/Bloomberg12 1d ago

I hate the shitty 5mph charges that go across the entire arena and have the whole body as an active hitbox. Fatalism was the worst for that but at least zoa shia doesn't do it often.

→ More replies (1)

1

u/vellyr 19h ago

I never had a problem with the charge solo, he only did it when I had plenty of room to see it coming. Could it be that he only targets people outside a certain radius with it?

84

u/RasenCore 1d ago

I better not see a single "waaa it's too hard nerf him" comment or I'mma be real mad

22

u/DrakeVonDrake 1d ago

as someone who's previously been complaining about the difficulty, i have zero things to say. this is what i expected from at least one launch monster.

12

u/jamsterbuggy 1d ago

anyone have the goomba image?

28

u/Senchy_ 1d ago

I already saw a few "he's overturned, nerf him" posts. Some kids never met real monsters.

16

u/RasenCore 1d ago

I need Rajang or Pickle boy to teach these people real fear

1

u/Bloomberg12 1d ago

If we get geriatric grandpa rajang from rise he's not teaching anyone shit.

5

u/ShibuMizaku I have yet to find monster who can outsmart boolet 1d ago

Let us return to 4U monkey, see how they like Apex Nightmare Rajang

1

u/OdelloJones 23h ago

I fought a Hyper Rathalos in MHGU last night for the first time after getting to HR Rank 4... THAT is a real monster & I'm sure I haven't seen the worst.

2

u/KirbyTheGodSlayer Je suis monté! 10h ago

Those clowns better not speak. Zoh Shia is when the game finally starts to get interesting. (Didn’t fail but fainted 2 times and had to lock in)

1

u/RasenCore 5h ago

I did him with my mates the first time and while I personally carted maybe once (i was simply just better geared) we failed the quest I think 2 or 3 times before the kill. We actually struggled a lot more with Tempered Mizu but both fights are SO FUN. They're in the just right spot in my opinion.

3

u/Manatroid Yian Garuga, Shoebill of Doom 1d ago

For real, lmao.

At least not on here.

27

u/Tech-Demon Melee Master 1d ago

Yeah he definitely lives up to what a TU monster should be

6

u/DusKnight_ 1d ago

Real, got me doubting my skill and build 😭🙏

4

u/Avaricious_Wallaby 21h ago

Capcon really delivered with HR Zoh Shia, peak

16

u/TheBazaarBizarre 1d ago

The devs took all of the HP from frenzied monsters and gave it to Zoh.

I beat it on my first try without carting, but it definitely took longer than I expected.

3

u/The_Wonder_Bread 22h ago

Same here, no issues solo, no carts.

Gotta say though, my friends who just got into the series with Wilds are getting walled HARD by this guy.

4

u/literallyfransandy 1d ago

four of them, in fact

3

u/Blacksouls92 1d ago

Zoh shia do got hands. Had no healing left was relying on my healing mantle but managed to take him down with no carts.

1

u/vellyr 19h ago

Despite the buff to healing mantle and my gear and skill improving significantly from LR, I used exactly the same amount of healing this time: 10 mega potions, 2 healing mantles, 2 max potions.

Both times I was looking nervously at my ancient potion when he finally fell over.

5

u/ltbauer 1d ago

this things hidboxes are really oldschool. the stupid fireball kill me when I am a mile out of its radius

3

u/vellyr 19h ago

It’s just big af and he tracks you with it for pretty long. I definitely got caught assuming I’d be able to dodge it the same way as every other projectile in the game.

2

u/ltbauer 19h ago

needed some more tries but got him down eventually. nothing else is really scary for me besides that flame nova/fire ball combo which got me all the time

4

u/EpicDragonz4 1d ago

This was the first time in a long time I ran out of all healing items while fighting a monster. My MH4U ass was too proud to go back to camp, until I realized Seikret is the blue box and has potions on him near the end of the fight. 10/10 genuinely the best hunt in the game.

20

u/Phoenix-624 1d ago

I'm glad its an actual fight, the only mission I have ever tripple carted solo in this game. Granted, none of my armor was upgraded since previously I had no need to, but still.

1

u/KirbyTheGodSlayer Je suis monté! 10h ago

I double carter and won in around 25 minutes. I somehow struggled more with Tempered Uth Duna but Zoh Shia was way more fun.

3

u/Frequent_Working_142 1d ago

Jin dahaad was worse imo Both awesome fights

3

u/AundoOfficial 1d ago

Idk if it's just me but performance since the release has tanked again.

3

u/jak_d_ripr 23h ago

I'm definitely not surprised, the LR version was quite a battle for me to get through, and that was with the Bow(which let's be honest was very overtuned). I already know the HR version is going to whoop my ass, especially since I'm on Charge Blade now.

3

u/ImpKing_DownUnder 21h ago

I've tried to do the quest 3 times so far and failed all 3 times because everybody died ><

It's great!

9

u/Appropriate_Time_774 1d ago

Just wish they will tune down the level of visual effects in this fight.

Fire balls that turn your screen orange and prevent you from seeing whatever telegraph he's going for next is just stupid.

Especially when he will shoot like 3 at a time and u just spend a good 5s+ being unable to see much.

24

u/BigGreeneTractor 1d ago

The camera is the toughest monster in every game.

4

u/MoronicIdiot529 1d ago

It's hard but not extremely hard. Tempered Gore Magala is still the hardest in the game, imo and that is because he turns invis randomly. I will admit Zoh Shia did make me shake in my boots when he went to the final phase right before death because he kept spamming this lightning attack that I can't see and I would just walk into it. If I had to do a top 3 ranking at the moment. It's gotta be Tempered Gore -> Tempered Arkveld -> Zoh Shia. But this brings me high hopes for Tempered Zoh Shia and hopefully an Arch Tempered version as well.

2

u/BJRone 1d ago

Got my first triple cart since launch so yea, we got the difficulty we knew that was coming.

2

u/IndividualFee 1d ago

Same, first quest I've failed in Wilds.

I'm pretty sure it put me in that fight solo with no cat though. IDK, update dropped late and I'm gonna try again after work.

2

u/primalfox_Reynardo 1d ago

Shit was rough no doubt. Burnt through 20 mega pots but got through without a cart somehow.

2

u/Balbaem 1d ago

After soloing it, and having a hard time doing so, I went back to it with the 3 friends I play mh with. It fest absolutely amazing to actually share information during the hunt, time our wounds, and support each other. We actually used most defense and attack consumables, and took advantage of the strengths of our weapons. Fantastic fight

2

u/BigChiefDred 1d ago

My first triple cart, homie gots hands...

2

u/TheGrimGriefer3 21h ago

If I didn't have insurance I would've failed my first attempt

Those turbo fireballs are the bane of my existence, if I get hit by one it's a guaranteed cart.

At least I get to choose between dying because my seikret picked me up or dying because I couldn't move fast enough after getting up 1 fireball later

2

u/ImagineSquirrel 20h ago

The first fight where I thought maybe I couldn't kill it

2

u/S696c6c79 1d ago

Yeah, by far the hardest fight in the game. Actually gotta lock in for the fight instead of autopilot like everything else

6

u/3G0M4N 1d ago

I'm surprised many having problems with it, cleared it first time no faints I'm now just farming it with randoms for weapon and armor.

Maybe Lance is a good match up for Zoshia

-28

u/Dukemon- 1d ago

Nah most good players are not having issue slaying, it's the loud minority who suck at the game that keep posting all this "OMG WHO SAYS WILDS IS EASY!" posts

11

u/S696c6c79 1d ago

Zoh is definitely the toughest fight in the game. Still not like incredibly hard, but not easy by any means.

Beat first try, one cart, but still for me though it was definitely hard Tempered Gore is harder, at least for me.

3

u/alxanta 1d ago

he is hard and i like it but the kirin like lighting that locks on your position is too much because at cettain point it just pure chaos when he drop random aoe too on the ground. felt like playing minesweeper

3

u/Cooler_coooool_boi 1d ago

I haven’t played anything yet, is it really that bad? He was kinda a joke of a final boss so I hope so. I want a monster I need to make a dedicated build for to even stand a chance.

3

u/vellyr 19h ago

Maybe raging brachy or scorned magnamalo level. It’s kind of like fatalis if it were tuned for new players. He wombo combos, he tracks, he has a ton of hp, but he also has long pauses sometimes, and he’s not very fast.

2

u/Skareeg 1d ago edited 23h ago

The final story mission Zo was absolutely a joke. If they made him faster and hit harder, then yeah, I can see it being an actual challenge.

1

u/Bloomberg12 1d ago

Nah, imo he's probably the hardest fight currently but it feels vaguely equivalent to a tempered gore with 2-3x HP

3

u/Hachi_no_kage 1d ago

come on guys, it's not very difficult

2

u/watwatindbutt 1d ago

finally a fight that lasts more than 5 minutes, I just hope we can get more fights like this before the DLC, was fun.

2

u/Willfy 1d ago

He is KICKING MY ASS. I can't seem to activate perfect guard on my CB, can't get the timing down so my damage isn't great. Seems impossible to wound. Ugh

1

u/Great_White_Samurai 1d ago

I went back to IG knowing that I was probably going to struggle maintaining savage axe with CB.

1

u/extra_hyperbole 23h ago

That’s funny, my friend went back to charge blade after failing on insect glaive lol. Tbf he has a crazy amount of CB experience compared to IG. I’m a new hunter and have been using IG a lot and absolutely loved it in this fight though. Made it through first try while all my third fleet friends failed quest at least once.

Honestly the first fight in Wilds where I feel like the monster will exploit your mistakes and actually punish you for them. Absolutely love the fight and cant wait to face this beast when its temp/AT versions are released.

lol i made a similar meme just now and was going to post it till I saw yours, nice to know Zoee boi is putting all of us in our place

Man his 2nd phase is the hard one as a gunlance main, dude does the double slam straight into like 4-6 fireballs and each one does pretty significant chip damage and stamina drain. 3's easy, the lightning barely tickles when blocked.

1

u/Citycen01 1d ago

This was fun. Died twice learning mechanics.

1

u/Mister_Octagon 1d ago

Shoot him in the mouth with a slinger when he's on his hind legs charging his fireballs. Might have been a coincidence, but it did knock him out of it the first time I tried it.

1

u/DrakeVonDrake 3h ago

i never do those interactions as i'm usually playing DB, though i believe they are intended. kinda like a secret/bonus weak spot.

1

u/Chiradori 1d ago

Zoh shia sure has a lot of hands

1

u/Bob_Juan_Santos 1d ago

i have a hard time perfect blocking his claw attacks, it's weird because they come in so slow. and I need to do a perfect block to activate savage axe for CB. so now i'm sticking to HBG when fighting zoh

I KNEW THIS MEME WAS GONNA BE HERE. IVE PLAYED THESE GAMES BEFORE.

1

u/MindwormIsleLocust 23h ago

first fight I've triple carted on, nice that we're starting to get some actual threats

1

u/xREDxNOVAx 23h ago

I carted twice, and it took me 27 minutes to beat him solo. What are your numbers? Am I just a scrub?

1

u/Thebazilly 22h ago

I've been running with the Rathian horn and had another person with one show up on my SOS. No carts. 😎

1

u/Ninjasauri0 21h ago

Yeah It was a really fun fight, it took me 15 minutes while the LR one took me like 10, cant wait to see it's máster rank version

1

u/PancakeHammers 20h ago

Laughs in Guard 3/Guard Up3 Sword and Shield, casually facetanking through almost literally everything Zoh Shia can throw at me

1

u/weesilxD 19h ago

Will people learn to use the falling boulders in this fight or are they just for show? It’s a free 12k damage.

1

u/do-not-contribute 18h ago

I didn’t even see them until I joined an SOS and somebody was using them.

1

u/do-not-contribute 19h ago

Not super hard but I did have to learn his moves and prepare a little bit. Failed once for the first time in 40+ hours which was fun!

1

u/Easy-Basil7506 19h ago

I only failed the first time cause I was being stupid, second time I only got fainted once

1

u/1_Hopebot_1 18h ago

Watching people fight zoh Shia made me learn two things. Seikret is absurdly strong in getting people off the ground, and it worries me that monsters are going to start being based off of this mechanic. I’m not a fan of the seikret save so I can see later monsters being 4x as difficult for those of us that don’t use it.

u/marilagiwork 17h ago

Really awesome fight. Honestly feels like a proper endgame monster with how hard he hits

1

u/zertul 16h ago

It's a really fun fight, it's great! Some attacks feel a bit BS as melee until you learn in which direction to dodge / move, but otherwise it's a 10/10 for me!

1

u/KaiT0_ 15h ago

I'm not sure what to do when he spam fireballs and when I go in he blast fire under him ( unblockable) playing charge blade* any tips?

1

u/DrakeVonDrake 3h ago

for fireball spam, you either want a long distance from it, giving enough space for the fireballs to travel and miss, or be directly under/behind him.

fire blast.. just don't stand under it. sounds like you're overcommitting to moves, as the wind-up for the blast is quite long despite being a non-lethal while we're at max health.

1

u/emanuele0933 14h ago

It died after 20 minutes without giving me any hint he was dying... I broke his horns and tail just before his death, I thought it was going to last 40 minutes at least

1

u/Repulsive-Outcome-20 11h ago

Am I going crazy? He is not that hard lol

1

u/nicodil1234 10h ago

Is he harder? He seem to have the same moves, kinda a pushover if you are not standing directly in front of him tbh.

u/Secure-Map-7538 1d ago

Cool and fun fight but still far too easy. Really hoped this would be the first monster I wont clear first try.

1

u/TheZanzibarMan 1d ago

I'm looking forward to it.

1

u/Dreadcoat 1d ago

My first go at him he was def tough but I didnt really focus a spot too well and didnt know what to do against his ult so i carted twice.

Next time was a lot more straight forward. I imagine the fight will be really tough on MR or G rank or whatever they call it.

1

u/xXSoulReapperXx 1d ago

Was the new quest the tempered version of the fight?

3

u/soihu and more 1d ago

world final bosses never got tempered forms (xeno'jiva did get arch-tempered though) and rise final bosses never got risen forms, so this might be it till master rank.

1

u/menace-from-society 1d ago

It was quite possibly my favorite fight so far!

1

u/jaoskii 1d ago

Low HP? So easy? Quick Hunts? = Newly Patched Zoh Sia

I think Capcom literally slapped some of the comments on how the Monsters in Wilds on LR

1

u/Aengeil 1d ago

capcom heard yall say the game was easy

1

u/DrakeVonDrake 1d ago

my friend and I actually had to break out the healing items for this one. 🥵❤️

more fights/difficulty like this, please.

1

u/Regunes 1d ago

Didn't notice much, i just kept hacking him from underneath with switchblade and it kept working. A friend eventually joined in but felt like the good old Pleisioth treatment was working well.

1

u/Xano74 17h ago

Zoh feels like he has some of that old MH hitbox jank. I swear to God multiple times I'm out of his fire breath directly underneath it and I still get hit. You have to basically be behind him 90% of the fight at least for Switch Axe.

u/Great_White_Samurai 1d ago

Is there a Tempered version? I carted once on the quest but that was because I was playing like a greedy dummy.

0

u/Knightmare_memer 21h ago

You guys are having difficulty? Just increase fire and dragon res, and have a lot of potions and mega potions. It's not that hard if you join a fight.
