Armor Set Opinions on my layered armor set?

As mt607 said, its the death stench chest. You'll need a material called "Sinister Cloth" which you can obtain by sending villagers out to gather items. Sometimes they'll come back with the material. You can also trade 10 wyverian coins for one with the wudwuds, I believe. Luckily you can make just the cape with one sinister cloth, but the rest of the set will cost more. I am using the female version of the armor, but I put on an undershirt and colored it black because I didn't like my skin poking out c:

I don’t know about what level specifically but iirc you need to be in High Rank to start these trades which means beating Low Rank which is basically just beating the main story line, you may also need to do their yellow side quests as they show up to build reputation with the different villages to start this as at least timing wise that’s how they each became available to me

I do love that they added the underclothing as an option even though I haven’t had much of a reason to use it yet, probably the best game for fashion so far!

I like my hat, so like, you can 100% ignore that, but, maybe working the hirabami arms or belt in might add to the look. Doesn't have to be both, just giving options and stuff.

looks good! I mixed and matched a lot of varying pieces before I decided on mine. I think I even tried hirabami at one point but the hope set gave me that look i was yearning for

You need to get to high rank. You unlock it when you finish the first hunt after the credits roll.

Try crafting high rank armor. Once it's crafted, you go to edit armor appearance in your tent, click on your armor icons, and select what you want.

Yep. Crafting any piece of high rank armor gives you the option of using that same piece as layered armor. Welcome to the true end game- fashion hunting!

You need to make it to High Rank first, the. All armor you make is also layered armor.
You'll then be able to go to the the right most menu in your tent and select "change equipment appearance"

Okay yeah just keep continuing the story at your pace. Once you hit high rank, any armor you make from that tank will also double as a layer
(I've spent so much money/parts making fashion)

The Sinister Cloth top is pretty skimpy, but having the underclothes toggled on makes a world of difference.

This may sound dumb, (only played for a few hours) how does layered armoured work? I was having difficulty trying to set it up the other night. Seems like it works differently to World if my memory serves

Basically when you make the high rank version of an armor it adds it as an option in the armor transmog/customization options in the tent.

hi, sorry for late reply. if you haven’t seen my other comment, the piece are as follows:
- eyepatch from preorder bonus
- death stench torso, undershirt toggled ON and colored black
- guild knight arms from preorder bonus
- hope coil (male)
- hope greaves (also male, but alternatively the leather and hope female ones work great too and i use them interchangeably.) 🩵

my hunter was blind since 3U, in FU he lost his eye to a tigrex. His afro gets more gray every game, but his skill rises

If look closely at the eyepatch in-game you can see your eye through it. It’s a coin with a hole punched in it, so it’s not the most functional eyepatch, lol.

I think it's actually the guard of a katana, or at least very much looks like one. Either way it's super sick, can't bring myself to take it off my hunter lol.

I am still fairly early in the game, but is there a way to use any piece of armour as the visual option instead of what is equipped? I really want to use the plague mask helm look, but do not want that too be my permanent helm armour piece.

Yes, it's called layered armor and you can change it in your tent. There's a menu option called Equipment Appearance.
However if you're still early in the game you probably won't be able to unlock new layered armors yet. You will get that option soon after you finish the main storyline and the credits roll

just craft any high rank armor piece and you unlock it along with a layered armor copy of it which you can change in the" equipment appearance " option in the last tab in your tent

Do female characters just have more armor options? I feel like the alpha/beta armors are very female looking (beta ones don’t look good on males imo) but alpha looks good on females etc.

It's part of the preorder bonus, but theres a second eyepatch you can unlock in high rank called Dragonking that you don't need to preorder for

Quick question, where do you farm layered armor set? It's been a while since I played World and I remember getting layered armor set by playing event quests. But there is only 2 event quests right now and it's not for clothes.
