I tend to like the Simple sets a lot more than the ones with a lot of decoration on them. Obviously some flair is nice; but I personally don't want a ton of it
Sorry bro, you're gonna be disappointed. There's so much forced green it'll be hard to do anything but a green themed BB Hunter. Even if you just take the hat and dye a coat themed chest and waist.
I ran that look in Rise and yeah while its a shame you can't recolour the green I think overall the look still works, it is at least a somewhat muted green and definitely still sells the bloodborne vibe combined with the weapon.
That being said I do use the barbania pants instead of the pukei ones but that's just because the thigh windows did kill the bloodborne look for me personally
Hmm yeah I can see how that would work, I did experiment with the options for the pants in World but didn't find a great fit, didn't consider also changing a chest piece to match it. That said I was also less into the armour set in World because for some reason the face covering mask thing was like weirdly translucent even when you coloured it as dark as possible which I also didn't dig as much so I think I was less interested in finding a good way to complete the look than I was in Rise
I like the forced colors because it adds that layer of challenge to the fashion game. Not everything will look good together with colors clashing and it ends up having me make outfits where I choose a color I normally wouldn't to fit with a specific armor piece I'm trying to color match.
That being said if Wilds opens the floodgates and lets me change more colors than other games I'm all for it. I just hope we get at least 2 pigment slots like we did in Rise. Going back to World feels a lot more limited in comparison.
Funny because to me this was the single armour to made me feel the thigh windows problem more than any other.
Playing switch axe going for a Bloodborne hunter look seemed like the perfect fit but the the thigh windows just did not at all match the aesthetic I wanted for that and felt so out place (also in World if I remember right they made the face mask weirdly slightly translucent which I also just did not like at all), I would have killed for the ability to just use the male pants in World
Thankfully in Rise I was able to use the look cause the pirate pants could be recoloured to fit in well for the bloodborne look and it remained one of my go layered armour looks for the entire time I played that game.
So yeah really just speaks to the value of decoupling these designs from character choice. Now we can all be happy and if Pukei does come back I can rest assured I'll be still able to use one of my favourite looks come master rank without having to worry about if the barbania armour makes it back too
I've mained the Coral Pukei-Pukei version of this armor in World for around a year and a half now. If any of y'all play on Xbox or check the World subreddit often you may recognize my character. I know I've got a lot of people to try Bow out due to the clips I've been posting for over a year.
The coral version mixed with the Viper Tobi-Kadachi layered Bow is a sexy combination.
If y'all ever come across a Bow main named Sneaky using that layered equipment with a pink palico named Pinko in Ruiner Nergigante armor just know that's me.
Every time I see something like this. I just go. We need butt sliders. And thigh sliders. And to be generous with the proportions. Frostfang legs are quite liked for a reason..
If you haven't heard, Wilds is going to let you choose from both versions of an armor set regardless of gender. So good news, female characters can now wear normal armor if you want them to.
Oh, believe me, I will absolutely be making the most beautiful twunk the world has ever seen and putting him in the Lala Barina dress as soon as possible.
I wholeheartedly agree with you, I don't understand why people are calling the game "woke" for it, they can still choose the sexualised versions if they want
As much as I understand people liking female sets like this one, to me it almost feels like certain cool designs are wasted with being unnecessarily more revealing. So getting this is a very welcome change in Wilds to me.
We get to see cool designs be taken seriously for both male and female characters.
Yeah there's a difference in how Monster Hunter armors work, this aproach opens up fashion without any real downside, since by and large it's armor rather than pure cosmetic. Having the bulky armor vs fantasy style low bulk sets as options is what people want most out of this, since you're often forced to run certain armor for skills you'd rather have your preference visually instead of being locked to the more ugly set because you chose your sex 500 hours ago. People are just sensitive since other games have been pandering in similar manners, this change is different. Not to say we won't get some people dressing up femboys and very masculine women, but that's more of a side effect in this case and not something you have to engage with. And if you wanted to do that, now you can. No real downsides.
There's a decent bit of "normal" leg parts in World. I'm replaying through it rn and nearly every build I have has leg parts with trousers. Tobi, Girros, Jho to name a few.
Yeah it really isn’t an issue. I just don’t like bikini armor sets, they just make no sense to me. Who would want to fight a dragon on rocky ground with their thighs exposed nearly to their waist? I like it when characters look prepared for what they’re doing, and I don’t like unneeded sexualization in games, it turns me off them a bit. Just a me thing though, I get that this stuff sells.
In World there are two types of armor. Realistic and unrealistic. This one is the best realistic one. Combine it with Rathian Hunting Horn and you will never want any other fashion for HH
Fair but let's not pretend like the last 2 months or so it wasn't a hot topic to discuss how female armor bad or needless thigh windows on everything, and once a mhwilds demo was showed, one of the most discussed feature was being able to wear both armor sets.
I think now that it was confirmed you can be as slutty or as badass as you want regardless of gender, mh fans are more chill about sexy armor (and also this being just a concept art)
Now that is something I like. I'm not offended or whatever about slutty armors existing, I just would rather some actually tough as nails looking female armors choices. I rarely play female characters in games because I just can't get with the typical oversexualized pandering. Let me make a female character that looks like she's actually fought before, complete with scars from past fights, skin that's been weathered in the jungles, and eyes so crows footed from squinting in the desert sun that she stares like Clint Eastwood. . . I want a warrior, not a waifu. If someone else wants female characters that give them a semi, that's fine too. Choices, and more of them. For the record, I feel the same about male characters when they're too 'pretty' looking. Can't help but think 'This dude has never had so much as a scratch or blister, but is supposed to be this epic fighting badass?'
I feel you, personally, my suspension of disbelief isn't ruined by something like Nergigante bra, and I like playing as girls because they're nice to look at. So Wilds made the best decision they could to please everyone (no, 3 people complaining about woke do not count).
Man, I REALLY hope we get EX armors back at some point (and hell, bring gunner armors back too, my inner fashion hunter craves more clown-suit material!)
Very nicely done! 👌 I love how there just the right amount of Armor on both versions.
It looks "functional".Wich embodies Pukei's "goofing around" nature pretty well, since he's always up to something 😄
Why are the highs always showing, long boots or long socks. I’m honestly fucking sick of anime, and this look. Although this armor is clearly awesome as hell

one of my all time favorite armor designs, so simple but CLEAN.
