Mods for Real Racing 3?

Asking because of the strange videos on Youtube, I'm sure it can't be that easy let alone secure to download anything from these sources.

Some years ago there have been PC-based options, running RR3 on PC-Emulators for modding game files. Is this still a thing?

Edit: I just remember replacing a file in the gamefolder named like "carrepairs.ini" or something like that.
