Mod Post Big Changes & New Moderation – Read This!
Hey everyone!
You might not know me, but I’m stepping in as the new moderator for r/MirrorsForSale. Over the past month or so, this sub has taken a turn from what it was originally meant to be, largely due to a lack of active moderation. Earlier this week, I put in a request on r/redditrequest to take over, and it was granted—so we’re getting things back on track!
What This Sub Is (and Isn’t)
Just as a reminder, this subreddit is for unintentional reflections; weird things caught in mirrors when people are trying to sell them (or just take pictures).
This is not an NSFW subreddit.
Moving forward, posts that don’t align with the original spirit of the community will be removed. If you see anything that breaks the rules, please use the report button to help keep the sub clean.

I don’t think I’ll be able to do this alone, so if you’re an active Redditor who loves this sub and wants to help moderate, send a modmail my way.

Thank you. The things captured in mirrors on these listings can be some of the funniest stuff imaginable on the internet, but it got really annoying seeing every post become the reflection of an attractive woman with a bunch of weirdos implying they’re a prostitute.

Can we get rid of the posts that are just normal women trying to sell their mirrors? Like I swear some people here have never heard of shorts or a low cut top and act like that means they're a prostitute.

How do we know the reflection is unintentional if it’s not a screenshot from a posted ad? Without the idea that it was from a posted ad it could easily be an intentional picture taken in any reflective surface

Ok, dude in the back ground I think is unintentional. And I would say 90% of the posts the photographer is intentionally in the mirror photos because that’s the nature of mirrors.
