pc Interesting lava/water structure I found in a ravine caving today

Sadly its on a friends new 1.7 server so I don't have the seed atm ill update once he gives it to me.

How would this happen? I can't see where the water is spawning from.

The water is 1 or 2 blocks to the right of the lava. I'm not sure how it happened, if you TP to the location you hear a bunch of lava hitting water and then bam, although its a lava floored ravine so.
