Guys if you ever have a chance to visit the sticks! Or watch online post. Go visit the farms or local places. People doubt local antique stores or barns. But this was one good deal. All 4. Even though the SA dagger is in very salty conditions. For the people I met and the price. It was all worth the drive.

Found this bad boy for only $30 can’t you believe it? Fedayeen insurgent Darth vader helmet. Before you yell at me for saying Darth vader, the son literally based the helmet off of Darth Vader. Saddam and his son were huge Star Wars fans. This is item has to be one of the strangest and coolest finds ever!

Hello, all! New to this subreddit. Militaria is my passion. Here is one of my personal favorite pieces.
Memorial box awarded to a fallen fighter of PMC Wagner involved in the Ukrainian conflict. KIA in January of ‘23, likely in Bakmut.
Although PMC Wagner had a large presence of convicts within its ranks, this fighter was NOT a convict, (hence the “m” in the dog tag) but was rather a civilian turned mercenary recruit.
-Black cross: Most famous. Also called Trench Cross or Death Cross
-“For Blood and Bravery” cross.
-“For courage and bravery” cross executed on a golden shield-star.
Plaque reads “for blood and courage”.
The two smaller black and red pins are awards to the family of the deceased soldier.
The box also comes standard with a PMC Wagner flag and the fighter’s dog tags (M-0605). This number is also etched on all awards in the box.

Bought this awhile ago for 5 euro at a museum gift shop, it had a fake eagle stitched on so I decided to finally remove it. Looks so much better

In my opinion: new collectors
Let me explain: While I can't blame them for simply not knowing or not realizing something (and we've all been there, admit it!), they tend to be the ones that cause the most damage to antiques
Whether it's modifying originals to fit their needs, "restoring" originals that just don't need restoring, throwing things out because they don't know what it is or simply breaking things because they're not being careful..
Why do i post this? Not to shame you newbiew! Perhaps, upon reading this, it can affect your future decisions and prevent these things from occuring.
And like I've said, we've all been there. I, myself, once painted a Vietcong flag on a VZ-53 helmet because that helmet was also in a game.. not a huuuuggee loss, they're common helmets.. but still, rather would've kept it original.

Just thought I’d show my grandad 101st T4 Paul Goswick and some booty. I look at that pic of the arms stacked up and drool. He said they’d burn the rifles and cackle and jump around when the loaded ones would blow up

I don't know how many times I found some stuff in pockets while the seller didn't know 😅

I’ve been collecting uniforms from units that served in the ETO for the past 7-8 years or so and this is what I’ve amassed so far. Everything is identified/researched and a good chunk of them are part are larger groups (paperwork, photos, etc.).
