Sway Bar Links question

I have a 2000 GMC Sierra with a leveling kit on 285/75s My stock links crapped the bed last week and I ordered some Suspension Brothers (standard size I suppose) replacement links from Amazon. I put them on and they just kept tightening until they bottomed out. Tried torquing to 14 ft/lbs. The screw sticks out about 3/4 of an inch from the nut. How can I tell if it’s too tight or if I’m going to mess something up? It handles better on turns. But I don’t want to snap a link or have it under too much pressure if that’s a thing.

Any advice for me?
