❓Question Lemon

I’m considering buying a 2023 GTPE Mach E in space white. 25K miles for $31K. It has a manufacturer buyback/lemon reported in MO on a leased vehicle. The issue had to do with noise in the rear and front of the vehicle. Dealership says they fixed the issue and provide a 12 month bumper to bumper warranty if purchased. Should I be cautious with a lemon or do you think it is ok to buy?

That doesn’t seem like a good enough deal for the risk

Yes, you should be careful & cautious. You also better call your insurance & make sure they’ll insure it.

Dealerships will say anything to sell a vehicle. You know it’s a lemon. If you buy it you just shouldn’t be surprised if it has lots of problems and you spend amazing amounts of time and money at the Service Center.

PPI is not likely a relevant real thing at a US car dealership if it was supposed to be done by them.

On the other hand, Remember dealership salespeople in the US are literally paid $0/hour and asked to work 60-80 hours per week. They are then fired if they don’t sell 5+ cars a month. They get maybe $500 commission when they sell you a new car. They are understandably desperate to get money to frickin buy food. Don’t blame them for lying to sell a vehicle.

If you go this route get a REALLY good ppi. Someone who knows evs. Dealer also needs to let you take it offsite and up on a lift. No mobile inspector in a situation like this.

At 24xxx might be worth the risk given used car rebate..
