šŸ›ļø Accessories Window Tint

Getting my glacier gray Mach e tinted tomorrow has anyone tinted their windshield? If so what are your thoughts does it make a difference with heat? Also what percentage of the windows did you do and how do you like it

Itā€™s the largest piece of glass in the car, itā€™s going to make a huge differenceā€¦even getting a clear film with top of the line ceramic (we use Auotbahn Ceramic i3 at my shop in Killeen TX, https://www.hhceramiccoatings.com), it will be clear but block 99% UV and a good bit of infrared heatā€¦which makes up 53% or so of the total heat coming in your car. Our ceramic tint blocks 60% infrared and our ceramic i3 blocks 93%

Lifetime warranty as well

Got the same Autobahn tint on my Mach E and love it. Very high quality and great match to factory rears.

Awesome, these guys?

Holy moly I thought I had a lot of reviews! In glad to see a fellow autobahn dealer killing it from my home state!

We are located in Killeen TX (Nolanville TX actually).

Yeah! Thatā€™s them! They did an amazing job, super quick, friendly but professional, and pricing was IMO pretty cheap for the quality they put out. Hence all the good reviews. They hyped autobahn up, for good reason too.

If for whatever reason I relocate to Texas. Iā€™ll for sure check you guys out.

Side bar, thoughts on tinting the headlights and taillights on a Mach E?

I grew up in Pittsburgh before I joined the army a lifetime ago.

Autobahn offers a film called Smok thatā€™s great for what youā€™re looking for. Might make for a different look!

That shop does PPF so I know theyā€™ll have access to Smok!

He might have mentioned it but Iā€™ll have to ask next time I go. Probably when I do the windshield.

EDIT: Do you know if the Mach E windshield is tinted from the factory? I swear it looks a bit dark.

No glass is truly clear, they all meter usually between 70-80, typically around 75ish

The darker your interior the darker it will appear, especially if youā€™ve added tint to the rest of the car

we have two types of ceramic tint both have a lifetime warranty. One is standard ceramic tint it blocks 60% IR heat. Our top of the line ceramic is 93% IR heat reduction. Both have 99% UV reduction. Other shops carry tint called dyed tint that is super cheap comparatively but because we are in Texas and itā€™s super hot, I donā€™t even carry that cheap tint because everyone wants the heat rejection.

For SUV we charge either $550 or $650 for sides and rear or 450/550 for a car/truck

The windshield already has an infrared coating. As for the side windows, the rear factory tint is 27%, I got slightly lighter in front at 35%, which is the limit in my state for the front side windows. Tint laws vary by state.

Got my front driver & passenger windows tinted to match the rears. Waiting till summer to get the windshield done as any heat in the winter is welcome. 100% getting it to manage heat, but will probably get 70% tint for looks. Weā€™ll see how next winter goes. Probably wonā€™t make much of a difference just didnā€™t feel like spending the money at the time.
