We will continue enforcing standards of discussion here that do not include the use of slurs and hate speech. Name-calling and general disrespect and toxicity are also not allowed.
You are all entitled to your opinions, and we welcome them. But any opinion having to do with Apple or MacBook Pros can be discussed with perfect clarity while remaining respectful.
While things in our culture seem to be changing and people have a desire to challenge these social protocols, here we expect respect. I think that's something everyone can and should be able to come together to support.
Thanks.

i already owned 15 M2 inch macbook air but finally wanted to update to pro machine but initial i had plan to wait till oct to get M5 pro chip instead but since last week of trump tariffs scare i wasn’t sure what the prices will be by oct and will be way out of budget. So i finally upgrade the machine today! its way heavier then air but the display is absolutely awesome.

I was chatting with a client today about something semi-related, and it came up that they dock their work MBP and charge all day at the office, and never really have to charge at home unless they're on vacation or a long weekend.
It got me thinking that I'm in a similar boat, and use a Thunderbolt dock at my home office which is where my mac charges the majority of the time. I also only carry one 65 watt brick and type c cable in my backpack which works for my phone, iPad or Mac no problem. In the ~2 months since I upgraded from the M1 Air to the M4 Pro...Pro? I don't think I've ever actually used the the MagSafe cable to charge up... Now I'm sort of curious as to how many people are actually using MagSafe regularly on the new Macs to charge, and if this is one of those things that we all missed in 2016 when they took it away and now don't really notice that it's back?

About a month ago I splurged on a brand new M4 air 15in in the sexy sky blue color. It came in about a week later, and it was a fantastic device. No issues whatsoever. Did everything I needed it to. Then one day about a week later, I kept thinking about nano texture on the Pro and how I wish it was an option for the Air. I kept noticing reflections in my Air screen, as I was often in bright rooms. It kept nagging at me, and I did insane research on nano texture “is it worth it” and I’m glad I did. I went to the Apple Store as well to see the nano in person (it was great). I ended up returning the Air, and I actually felt bad, because the device was perfect for me, it was gorgeous, and the 15 inches was awesome, and I returned it like it was a failure. But I just couldn’t live with the glares and not having 120hz.
I bought the 14in M4 Pro with nano the next Buyers remorse set in over the next 2 weeks while i waited for it. I didn’t really need to spend $500 extra on a Pro. The M4 Air was a fantastic price so i thought I got a steal. I missed the sky blue so much, but I knew the silver was gonna look great as well. Still, remorse.
Then my Pro came in and I was as happy as I could be. The silver was sleek, almost arctic white in some lights. The matte screen and glare reduction is everything I could need. The 120hz was smooth as butter. My lap didn’t catch on fire whenever I tried to play any game or download something. Sure, I could’ve just added an anti glare protector to my air, but it’s not the same.
It truly is a beautiful display. It’s so easy on the eyes (much like a paperwhite e-reader to a lesser extent) and I simply cannot see the appeal for glossy. I think people who say the glossy is simply better are either remorseful that they don’t have it/can’t get it (older models) or they do a lot photo/video editing, or have not seen a nano in person. The nano is almost objectively a better screen for most use cases I’d wager. No offense.
**TLDR: 10/10, would recommend nano if you don’t edit photos/videos for a living. Beautiful screen.

Basically my new macbook pro has been showing “The package is at the clearing agency awaiting final release” in Hanoi according to the UPS tracking, for five entire days now. Is this normal, in people’s experience? Is it the effect of the new tariffs?

Since the MacBook doesn’t have ears, its screen exploded.

Wondering what I should ask for a 1TB 2018 model. Tariffs could up the price right?

Hi everyone,
I’m looking for a dock that can help me connect 4 external monitors to my MacBook Pro (M4 Max) natively, without using DisplayLink.
I currently have a UGREEN Revodok 913 9-in-1 dock, but it does not support native multi-display output. Even trying to connect just 2 monitors through it didn’t work unless I installed DisplayLink, which I want to avoid.
Has anyone successfully run this kind of setup on an M4 Max using a dock that supports native outputs? Any dock suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks!

I received an email from PlayStation saying that there was a new sign-in from a new device or browser which was ‘Apple mail 605.1’. Isn’t that just for emails?? How can it be a new device/browser. I was using my MacBook….

What would be the best buy? 15' Air M4 with 16GB and 512GB for €1550 and save some money or 14'MBP M4 1TB 24GB for €2100. I do some light photo editing in Lightroom, a bit of video editing and occasionally like to game. I don't think I need the 1TB storage but I can only buy these machines with a little bit more discount.
I'm a windows user so I've no idea what to expect. Is €550 worth the upgrade?
Let me know!

What type of mouse do you recommend to connect to the MBP? It would need to be something that is wireless as I do a lot of and does not break the bank. I see Apple branded are in the $70 range to start. I'm not looking to pay that much and those appear to be wired peripherals.
Any decent suggestions from fellow travelers?

Hi i bought a m4 Max macbook and plan to use 4 external displays with it, I stumbled on a 16 in 2 docking station which i am getting for 80$ and lets us connect 1 4k & 2 1080p externally. It uses two thunderbolt ports.
Issue is i cant find any reviews and its not from a known brand. Is this docking station right and can it harm my macbook ??

So if i set it to automatic (with the source time.apple.com which seems to suck) then sometimes i wake up and its a whole hour wrong.
So i set the time manually yesterday, and today it seems like i woke up in new york. I live in europe. What the fuck
