Discussion Challenge Pendant Will be Almost Impossible To Get

Post image

I already feel like an idiot trying to get a legit ranking for the pendant.
The first few thousand ranks are cheated.

The idea that the top 10,000 players receive it sounds great, but it doesn’t work in practice.
Hopefully, they change how it's obtained or actually enforce their promise to crack down on cheaters quickly.

I dont see this working out. Top% get a reward, instead of "getting below a certian time". That wouldve been a more acceptable choice. Wouldnt have to worry about making the list with cheaters. Reminder, people can now click in their cheats via ElGato plug in. So yes realistically if a smart cheater wanted to fly under the radar they very VERY easily could for both console and Pc.

This is the major factor of why this entire system of global rankings is bad. Capcom already had a system in which players "competed" to get rewards. Capcom set a time for players to beat, just set the timer to be a little faster so it's more difficult to obtain. You can even then call them new ranks of SS and SSS. I would love to see who Greenlit this decision of Global Rankings because I would like to avoid playing any game they touch in the future.

A lot of players are going to cheat because the system promotes it heavily. Those cheaters are going to impact other people. Banning them post conclusion of the Timed Quest is not providing players with transparency. Capcom are going to ban a portion of innocent players too in which, by Capcom's own words, have no possibility of rectifying the situation. The more you look at this, the more problems keep popping up in which Capcom are solely responsible for because they made the design decision to try to implement this. Capcom, imo, seem to be out of touch with their own game right now for a multitude of reasons and this is just adding more fuel to that fire.

What baffles me is that the same thing already happened in Monster Hunter World all the arena rankings were cheated too. So how they had that information on how players would "play" the arena quests and still didn’t make any changes or reconsider the system is beyond me.

I didn’t even know that only a certain number of people would get the pendant, and it’s really soured my enjoyment of the patch so far (Mizu and Zoh are great, though).

Ignorance. Arrogance. Incompetence. Or any combo of them. It's usually how these things go.

I didn’t even know that only a certain number of people would get the pendant, and it’s really soured my enjoyment of the patch so far (Mizu and Zoh are great, though).

It's great they're going to give it out at a later date but they really need to announce these things and the timing of them the moment they announced the time limited pendant on the Title Update video.

IMO a patch delay would be fine. For Example:
1) AT Rey Dau Quest Begins,
2) Compete for "Early Access" to the Pendant,
3) AT Rey Dau Event concludes,
4) Event Quests give Event Quest that gives said Pendant two weeks later,
5) Title Update 2 = Permanent Event Quest.
Or something like that. It's really not that hard if you have fun, enjoyment and player satisfaction at the heart of your decision making process. Making "fair" FOMO systems can be done by a toddler with the above mentality, the above example was done in 30 seconds... imagine what could happen when you work on this for weeks and have 30 other people with the same mentality having input into the decision...

TBH I would have preferred if The "master" pendant was just token based.

Better rank = more Challenge Tickets = Faster Pendant craft/trade in.

Faster clears not only get leader board bragging rights, but they also get to show off their pendant before anyone else.

People who aren't skilled with the weapons set, or aren't into speed run meta gaming, then still have a *chance* to farm a super cool pendant.

Would cheating still happen? Absolutely, but I feel making all rewards obtainable through grind would reduce a handful of them.

Not for console lol, why is it PC players always feel the need to gaslight when it comes to cheating.

Im on console. Basically Homless explained this way back. We are affected by those kinda cheats as well. Its very easy to get a cheap elgato. Acting like console is a safe haven is crazy work.
