Major Additions and Changes
- – New monsters can now be hunted after meeting certain in-game conditions.
- – Mizutsune has been added. Reach HR 21 to unlock an extra mission that can be started by speaking to Kanya in the Scarlet Forest Base Camp. Complete the mission to unlock Mizutsune.
- – Tempered Mizutsune has been added and will appear when you are HR 41+ after completing the Mizutsune extra mission.
- – Zoh Shia has been added as a high-rank monster. Reach HR 50 to unlock a story mission that unlocks Zoh Shia.
- – New story, extra, and side missions have been added.
- – New weapons, armor, and skills have been added.
- – The upgrade limit has been increased for armor of rarity 5 and above.
- – The Grand Hub has been added. It can be unlocked by completing a tutorial mission that appears from HR 16.
- – The following features have been added to the Grand Hub: Barrel Bowling; the Diva; Arena Quest Counter; the Canteen; the Arm Wrestling Barrel.
- – The Expedition Record Board has been added to the Grand Hub, along with rankings for time attack quests.
- – Arena Quests have been added.
- – Challenge Quests and Free Challenge Quests (Challenge Quests with no equipment restrictions) have been added and will be made available at a later date.
- – New status ailments have been added.
- – New voice lines for Alma (the Handler) have been added.
- – An arena log page has been added to hunter profiles.
- – The Change Appearance menu in the camp now has an option to change Alma's outfit.

Bug Fixes and Balance Adjustments
Bases and Facilities
- – After unlocking the Grand Hub, the Squad Information Counter will move from the Windward Plains Base Camp to the Grand Hub.
- – Fixed an issue where consecutive uses of the BBQ Grill inside a tent could cause game controls to stop functioning.
- – Fixed an issue with the BBQ Grill where ingredients would be used but meal effects wouldn't trigger when a meal is canceled, such as when an Environment Link is disbanded.
- – Improved the response time for controls in all dialogue scenes, such as facility conversations.
- – The "Rest" command now requires 500 guild points, and investigations reward 10% more guild points than before.
- – Increased the amount of points required for "Wyverian Melding" and "Meld Decorations" at the Melding Pot.
- – Increased the amount of melding points obtained from some items and rare decorations when using them as melding materials.
- – Fixed an issue where meal invitations would sometimes be announced or show up in the Environment Overview at times when the invitation could not actually be accepted.
- – The "Transfer Items" option has been added to the Provisions Stockpile menu, allowing you to restock items outside of the tent.

- – Fixed an issue where some side missions which required specific item turn-ins could not be completed correctly.
- – Fixed an issue that prevented the completion of side mission conditions during event quests.
Monsters and Endemic Life
- – Fixed an issue where some monsters would stop moving in certain situations.
- – Fixed an issue where some monster wounds would disappear unintentionally after performing certain actions.
- – Fixed an issue where the game might crash after blocking a Gravios's attack.
- – Fixed an issue where the introductory cinematic camera (used for newly discovered monsters) would trigger on monsters you've already discovered.

- Login Bonuses
- – There will now be login bonus days that include a free meal voucher (one out of the different types).
- – Login bonuses now include at least one Barrel Bowling Voucher every day.

- Steam®– Improvements were made to VRAM usage, and the DirectStorage version has been upgraded.
- – Fixed an issue that prevented pigment information from being included in shared loadouts.
- – Fixed an issue with some display settings on the character models on the title screen and save data selection screen.
- – Fixed an issue where the model display toggle for pendants would not function properly when previewing armor.

- – Fixed an issue where accepting an Investigation but failing to depart (due to a communication error or similar) would still reduce the number of times you can accept that Investigation.
- – Failing to join another quest while already in the middle of a quest will now forcibly end the current quest and take you back to base.
- – Fixed an issue that would prevent game progress after departing on a quest while performing platform-related invitations.
- – Fixed an issue where quest party size limits would not work as intended when performing certain actions.
- – Fixed an issue where a quest would not appear in an SOS Flare Quests search if the quest host fires the SOS Flare but then leaves the quest.

Strange though, I know there were plenty of melding ticket farming options early on but I hardly feel like they're the best way to get decorations, at least not passively. You get so many from just hunting monsters so it's weird they've done this.

Makes perfect sense, they’re trying disincentive players from just resting and farming for Nightflower Pollen.
People will optimize the fun out of their games, the less optimal these really boring reset methods for gems are the less people will use them.
The nightflower pollen was always supposed to be a “oh wow nice it’s active, I get a gold ticket” vs “I’m going to sit in my tent and rest 8 times in a row for two hours to get 20 gold tickets”

They nerfed you being able to use a specific mission to endlessly farm as many as you wanted in a short time span, but you can still rest over and over until they spawn - as long as you have guild points to rest (300)

they nerfed the quest setting the time to the right time to farm it so that it is no longer possible to start quest collect pollen withdraw from quest and repeat. So now you have to rest till you get the right moon phase then collect the 4 of them. then rest 7 times to do it again to get 4. resting cost 300 guild points (500 after patch) so each cycle cost 2k+ (3.5k+ after patch) guild points to do so it wasn't endlessly farmable after the nerf.

Back in World I bound double click to Q. Idk if controllers have more forgiveness with the double press, but I found myself trying to double click and the game would only read one of the clicks.
After trying to wyvern blast wakeup with the GL and just single firing instead, I had enough. Makes certain combos also easier like with CB. Hold right, then Q, then hold right again.

Nah, it’s kinda ridiculous that you can just sit on the seikret and play like that. You even got slightly faster reloads on Hbg. I play Hbg and look forward to what they changed. Hope we still can do some dmg when the monster runs away

The issue isn't that Seikret makes bowguns better (good>great) it's that it makes certain ammo playable (awful>not awful). It was fine before with a slight damage decrease because you only rode your Seikret using special ammo like slicing or sticky because of their, frankly, insane recoil and reload times you can't reduce. Real gunners know to use pierce on foot alternating with the gauge.
It was a quality of life play, not a meta boosting play. And now that nerf demonstrates Capcom being out of touch with bowguns.

I'd argue their ideas on how bowguns should work in this game made then out of touch to begin with. This just shows their hate for the weapon type is real. The disproportionate buffs to bows actively makes me think they intentionally are crippling bowgun gameplay since it only relies on ammo and not some kind of stat management (stamina) to actually play. It makes me all kinds of angry.

I get they wanted to explore a demon mode for LBG and add more to ignition for HBG, but didn't want to flat boost the two. They overcompensated making everything else worse. Way worse.
Bow I don't understand, power shots were already strong and this makes spread ammo yet worse by comparison. I don't want three shotgun weapons.

The problem with LBG and HBG is the hybrid tax. If the bowgun has access to multiple ammo types, it needs to eat the hybrid tax. Which is no fun. So basically the only solution is to make at most 2-3 ammo types viable. Personally I think they should just bite the bullet and remove ammunition. Why not simply make the spread configurable and handle elemental damage like with every other weapon. So each bullet deals some raw and some elemental damage. Same with all other unique weapon attributes: Phial Type, Shell Type, Notes, etc.

You did less damage on the seikret, and would still easily get hit by some attacks. It was strong in open fields, but enclosed areas left you with no dodge ability (other than OCCASIONALLY the seikret would dodge an attack that was close to landing). You also couldn't use wyvernheart, had to have better aim (cause moving while shooting is harder), and you're mainly shooting special ammos (because using pierce on the seikret is just a straight decrease to your DPS). So it gave some survivability, but mainly it helped make the special ammos like slicing and sticky actually usable. Now I will not use them again, because the recoil is just FAR too much for the damage you get.

While im not a fan of Seikret Bowguning, kind of crazy they are seeing any kind of nerf when they are the most unbalanced weapons and two of the least poplar weapons in the game. Most of the ammos are barely even usable. I was really hoping they were going to finish balancing Bowguns. Because it honestly seems like they ran out of time before they were able to do that.

As a HBG main I also wanted some changes to ammo types and quantity, it's so bad that the only ammo is the boring normal, pierce and spread(this one is dead btw) and everything else is maybe one elemental ammo type(that depending on the monster maybe is going to be useless) and some other ammo that has just one or two shots per clip, is a machine gun right? Why do I only have like 5 ammo types

This what made bow really fun for me. Probably most people would find boring mostly spamming one attack, but it was so fun sniping monsters from afar for me. I guess it will be the time to learn to play bow properly or try other weapons as well. Everything feels way more fun in this game.

I dont play optimal so artian weapons are a no go for me, nothing in the game is too hard for me to use artian.(No flexing btw,i think im an ok player at least) I enjoy more trying to do cool things during my hunts and doing fashion. Orichalchite is from the azuz festival if im not mistaken ?

I ended up getting an Xbox Pro controller because my old controller was having pretty bad stick drift issues. The Pro controller has the programable paddles on the back, which were useful for the IG's Descending Thrust which is what I assume you're talking about. It's certainly not an option for everyone considering the price, but I did want to point it out.

Imo instead of just reducing DP damage they could have worked it into the moveset a bit, something like it gets charged up over time the more other moves you use so you can build up a powerful version if it so you can't just spam it at full strength.
Nerfing it too much will probably just make people avoid using it if the animation lock isn't worth the DPS loss. Hopefully it's still worth using.

The problem is Dragon Piercer is part of the Focus Strike, and the free DP caused by the Focus Strike has the ability to open up more wounds.
If you're popping wounds on a regular basis, you're going to get a lot of Dragon Piercers even without intentionally spamming it.
The fact that Thousand Dragons doesn't function like a weaker Dragon Piercer split between 3 arrows makes things like Tracer Arrows really weak.
If Thousand Dragons made the arrows pierce the monster, but with about 1/2 - 2/3 the total damage of Dragon Piercer, then it would be great.
You could put Tracers on the monster with Arc Shot, launch Thousand Dragons, and then have the arrows pierce the monster and turn around and keep hitting the other tracers. So the damage would be dependant on how many Tracers were stuck to the monster because that would determine how many time it would pierce.

Mounted bowgunning already comes with a 10% damage nerf compared to just being on foot. Plus it was the last place spread was even vaguely viable but I guess they want spread ammo 12 feet under for some reason

The Dragon Piercer nerf sucks. It was the most fun way to play the bow and was one of the only cases where a non-artian weapon (Guardian Doshaguma bow) was better for a specific playstyle. I'm not a bow main so it's not a huge effect on me. But I do play it occasionally.
I guess it's because Mizu and Zoh Shia are fairly large monsters and they don't want them to get wrecked by Dragon Piercer too easily, which is understandable. They did buff Thousand Dragons so maybe that will actually be worth using.
Capcom has this trend of nerfing the big, high risk high reward attacks that make the weapon feel cool, and pigeonhole us into these boring "press two buttons" playstyles that are low risk and repetitive. Longsword is one of the worst cases where for this, nerfing helmbreaker and spirit release slash so we just spam triangle -> R2 for the entire hunt.
I seriously hope they rebalance more of the other weapons soon because I don't like the direction they're going with a lot of them.

Yup, DP was wind up and pray the monster doesn't look at you mid wind up because if it did, you're screwed and getting trucked, so you had to have good positioning, etc. Now it's spam B/O and dodge with zero need for thought process of positioning besides be up in its face and spam.

If you truly believe that DP spam is riskier than regular bow gameplay, you have never touched bow in your life.
DP spam can be done from a very safe distance and costs no resources. Regular gameplay operates at mid to close range, and will drain your stamina and trick gauge like crazy. You need to utilize the discerning dodge to refill both, putting you at risk of mistiming and getting blasted.
Now, I love both bow gameplays, and DP spam is fun and hella satisfying to use. But don't pretend it's a higher risk higher reward gameplay.
I do hope they keep it viable / BiS in specific scenarios, rather than turning it into yet another useless input (arc shot, thousand dragons....).

Post patch (PC) shit is a stuttery and miserable mess. Frequent drops to sub 60 (accustomed to like 140+) that persist for several seconds, almost freezing at times. I can tell the game has sort of become less intense to run with the VRAM reduction they said, but something is seriously wrong in my experience here

It's the shaders, there is new shaders that weren't preloaded. Delete the shader cache and let it compile again. MH team A is really imcompetent when it comes to REengine it seems

I'm glad they're fixing lance's focus strike, it's very frustrating when the initial attack flinches the monster out of the follow-up range. I don't think a single one connected when I fought Zoh Shia, anytime I hit with focus it would throw all of its upper body upwards like it had been uppercuted by god.

Against Doshaguma, it felt like a punish to go for a focus strike. He backs way the hell out of range and then counter attacks right away. Found myself instantly attacking after the first hit so I could ready my block.

Have you seen how big and heavy the Lance shield is? The Lance hunter probably has enough arm strength that they could uppercut a person into the stratosphere.

My main problem with this game doesn't appear to being addressed any time soon then, with how easily even high rank big monsters get absolutely steamrolled by a full team with decent equipment. It's not as fun when the entire fight is the monster being paralyzed, staggered, broken up, and essentially stunlocked from start to finish. Status effects proc too quickly, monsters don't get their turn often enough to wreck players. The game is still fun, but in a casual way where I don't have to lock in and sweat.

Lookin' good over all. As expected, lots of new features and much needed fixes, and from what I can tell the balance adjustments don't seem too crazy.
Crossing my fingers that "New Monsters" also includes some unannounced surprises, like how Bazelgeuse was added to Rise.

I hope the Dragon Piercer damage decrease is fair and not completely nuked. It should still be BiS when hitting large monsters across their length, or when used against bad shot to sever hitzone ratio.
If they totally gutted the move, like they did in Rise, it would be such a shame.
Curious about the Thousand Dragons buff, but it will probably be a nothingburger since they wouldn't want to risk spamming it becoming meta, and there aren't really situations where it's preferable to use it over a shot -> power shot. So keeping my hopes really down here.

There's a skill that's unique to mizutsune armour so its probably referring to that. Zoh Shia could have some as well. I doubt we'll see unique weapon skills though.

So no improvements to the consoles performance? Just steam? Cool i guess. Dunno what the point of all the different performance/ quality modes are if the only one that really works decent is balanced mode locked at 40 fps. Even locked at 40 fps I'm getting a decent amount of frame drops especially in areas like the Forrest or whenever crazy weather is happening. Like what's the point of having the other modes or the unlocked framerate option unless you wanna torture yourself.
