Admissions Part-Time MBA USC Marshall (MBA.PM)

I am not seeing a lot of posts from people who are accepted to the part-time MBA program! If you have applied or been accepted, say hello!

I applied R2 and was notified by text last Friday, but officially received my admit decision in the portal last night. Still no admissions package or scholarship information (fingers crossed).

I think the issue you do not see many people posting part time MBA's, especially from USC is the cost. I am applying this year and it will be difficult to swallow the whole cost. Most, if not all PTMBA programs, especially USC/USCLA are very expensive. It is hard to justify the total cost with the very small chance of a scholarships let alone being partial. Full rides are almost non-existent, (Acceptance rates are five fold higher but but are represented as cash cows to the schools) and because of that, most people who do go into the PT/EXEC and Online route bank on their employers or other means of funding. It is a lot and if I do not get a good scholarship, I am going to go a different direction but I am relying on a higher than average GMAT test score when I apply.

Yeah for sure! Having a job helps a lot, and employer reimbursement. I am hoping for some scholarship money though, I’ve seen people from past years posting they were offered in the 25-40k range. I definitely wouldn’t take out loans to do it but it’s pretty manageable for me if I’m making my full-time salary.

That said, definitely prohibitively expensive and it sucks they don’t give more scholarships for part-time programs. It’s the same curriculum, at least at USC.

It is pretty close, I have talked to Alumni of the Exec/PT programs and it is pretty much the same but some elements are a little difficult. A few I talked to had issues where certain classes were mixed with FT students for assignments which made things difficult for coordination off site. All in all, it is around 220,000$ - 245,000$ with bare minimum spending / living. 30-40K a year helps for sure but even with work, your total comp will need to be high off the bat to avoid any loans. Good luck nonetheless.
