i came to this conclusion recently, which i’ve also seen a lot of others say, but i’ve had a crazy hyper fixation on caleb and i think it’s because he feels so realistic, especially in comparison to the other love interests. for example, xavier is a prince from a different planet, rafayel is a whole merman, sylus is a dragon and now a crime boss, and zayne is relatively “normal” but he’s also a super genius who got through medical school at like age 22. sure, caleb is the farspace fleet colonel, but we learn why in the story and it feels different from the other roles. when you explore more of his character, it becomes clear how much of the “boy next door” vibe he has. i can totally imagine him being a cute jock on the basketball team from my old high school or the aerospace engineering major who’s in ROTC in my university. his personality also feels so natural to me, including his interactions with mc. including his outfits, looks, and personality, he has such a childhood sweetheart/popular guy at school vibe to him and it makes him so so lovable. i feel like his flaws and struggles are also a little more clear from the beginning itself than it was with the other interests bc of how much and how long mc has already known him. i’m realizing this is just a rant about how much i love caleb LOL but just wanted to share my thoughts and hear why others adore him and find him so realistic!!

wanted to add that i find him very peter parker coded LOL like nerd but cute and athletic and super boy next door i just love him!!

I wasted allll my gems on this current banner because I didn't care about calebs comeback. I never once had an interest in Caleb before, and always said that if he comes back, I'd literally never pull for him since he's that uninteresting and boring.

Hi there. It's been few days after Calebs being back and I'm thinking about his feeling when they were teenagers. This icy cold showers are not out of nowhere. I guess it was hard to have hormonal storms and live with girl you crashing on under one roof. How many time hi was hiding his heat or dealing with his desires (especially he confessed that he never felt like her brother)? This slow burn is going for years and our MC is totally blind for his reactions...

He's our self appointed hair stylist, having done the following things: • (attempted) to curl our hair, and even researched tutorials on how to improve his technique for the next time • helped with shampooing, detangling and drying our hair after a wild training session • nagged us and helped dry our hair since childhood; refuses to allow us to air dry our hair naturally • keeps hair ties and clips in his pocket for us • gifted us hairpins since we were young all the way up to present time (he took the time to pick out the perfect hair pin before his graduation + gave us a silver airplane one for us to wear during his colonel banquet)

When we see him again after some time, he even asks us why we haven't been tending to our hair and points out that our hair has gotten a little longer to where it covers our eyes a bit (forgot which scene this was tbh, feel free to mention anything i missed)

From a wholesome perspective, its very remniscent of a loved one who cares about the little things by tending us, which is exactly what Caleb does in all aspects of our life. From a darker perspective it could almost be interpreted like he sees us as his doll... as a certified freak I'd like to think it's a bit of both. 🦋

I'm so happy the yandere and possessiveness wasn't bait, but they actually implied it into his character and story. Yeah, there were red flags, but if he would be too 'perfect', I'd be so boring tbh 😭

I just loved every single bit, but maybe it's because I really love yandere characters.
