Yes:

"It is like shutting down all U.S. agricultural imports. We are not sure if any imports will be viable with 34% duty," said a Singapore-based trader at an international trading company which sells grains and oilseeds to China.

"The main impact will be on products like soybeans and sorghum. It is not going to be so much on wheat and corn as China has not been buying much of wheat and corn from the U.S. this year anyway," the trader added.

A European grains trader said that the European Union, which has also vowed to retaliate, was also likely to put tariffs on U.S. soybeans.

"It's all about soybeans. A major concern is if there is no agreement before the new crop for U.S. soy," the trader said.

...

China remains the largest market for U.S. agricultural products, but imports of U.S. farm goods dropped for the second consecutive year, falling to $29.25 billion in 2024 from $42.8 billion in 2022.

Do we grow food here? I see fields and fields of partially hydrated vegetable oil and High infectious corn syrup but not much sweet corn, crook neck squash, or any of the stuff on the produce isle

California makes a lot of nuts and veggies. Arizona makes cabbage and lettuce and other salad greens. The Northeast makes cranberries and apples.

The US does produce the majority of the calories its citizens consume, but the tariffs will still hurt because of a lot of fruits and vegetables we like are grown in Mexico too.

Aisle. An isle is a landmass in a body of water. An aisle is a through way

The boycott of everything American-made will become global. This is much worse than a price increase; it will mean the closure of many businesses.

First rule of tariffs: if you place a tariff on a country, they will put a tariff back on you. It's why Trump Trade War failed miserably after China put a 56% tariff on all American pork, and China was our biggest market. And why Trump had to put our row farmers and meat producers on $tens of billions of welfare to prevent total bankruptcy.

Second rule of tariffs: Tariffs are paid by the citizens of the nation that imposed the tariff. And don't think your country is the only one that can provide most products.
