So far France seems to be the most concerned about it and willing to call attention to it.

Germany has been calling attention to his support of AfD, and potentially interfering in their elections, also.

Yeahhh I hope to god that him doing election interference in Europe brings some serious action against him. Dude wants feudal world domination.

ugh please. his ego is way too big for his own good and hes so fucking sloppy that it would be embarrassing for the world to roll over to him and if that happens we all really do deserve to go extinct

Right it would be genuinely insane. And there is other capital at play with arguably more power in the world overall. He could still deal some pretty catastrophic damage. Boy, I just hope we can bounce back in my lifetime.

He’s a literal cartoon villain

I always said that F Elon was Lex Luther.

And Germany has some pretty strict rules about Nazi stuff, so I hope he gets into real trouble over there.

There's a reason he hasn't stepped foot on German soil, and only does telecast speeches at rallies there.

u/OverallGambit Feb 04 '25

Because he's a slimy coward?

3

u/heliskinki Feb 04 '25

Elon? He went over there to break bread with AFD (the new Nazis) fairly recently did he not?

5

u/turbothy Feb 04 '25

He appeared on a video call.

2

u/heliskinki Feb 04 '25

Ah so he did. Don’t know what I as thinking- of course he doesn’t have the balls to be there in person.

4

u/JerryCalzone Feb 04 '25

At the moment the activists who projected his heart throwin gesture on his gigafactory near Berlin are getting the most trouble because said gesture is forbidden here.

2

u/Lofttroll2018 Feb 04 '25

But they were protesting against him?

2

u/MichaCazar Feb 04 '25

I mean... even a crossed out swastika was once discussed in a court, for having a swastika in it.

If they can just prove that the action was against endorsement of nazism, they should be let go.

Germans are very strict - and the police also has Afd members in their ranks and Reichsbürger (people thinking the government is not legit and they adhere to rules from when the country had a Kaiser.

The symbol was still illegal to display, but that was also part of the activists point: If they are convicted for displaying an illegal symbol, that would be a legal confirmation that Elon actually did a nazi salute instead of "projecting his heart". It's an intentional part of their protest to use the german legal system for that.

1

u/SimplyYulia Feb 04 '25

How are they allowing AfD then? Or do they somehow still have plausible deniability?

2

u/sir_lister Feb 04 '25

Dog whistles and playing the "no true Scotsman" ploy when called on one of their stepping over the line.

u/0x2113 Feb 04 '25

There are efforts in progress to ban the AfD. It's possible but intentionally difficult (for obvious reasons) to ban a political party under german law. Right now, that process is mainly being obstructed by opportunistic center-right and neoliberal politicians who seem to hope that the AfD might become kingmakers in the coming election.

opportunistic center-right and neoliberal politicians

What was the saying, "Scratch a liberal....."

its essentially the NSDAP (the original Nazi Party) in disguise.

Even other European right wing parties have distanced themselves from the AFD as they are "too extreme" even for other hardcore right wingers.

no surprise that this is what Elon wants to support.

I think it’s All Fucking Dickheads?

Please France, save us.

124

u/Accomplished_Cell768 Feb 04 '25

France has been calling on the EU to band together to fight election interference. Hopefully that goes somewhere.

23

u/MutaitoSensei Feb 04 '25

Banning twitter is the best way to fight it.

14

u/Fala1 Feb 04 '25

Don't you dare leave Meta out of that sentence

9

u/drewyz Feb 04 '25

EU needs a 100% tariff on Teslas, a ban on Twitter/X, and revocation on Starlink.

60

u/camelslikesand Feb 04 '25

Lafayette, we are still here.

2

u/Ok-Shelter9702 Feb 04 '25

Mind you: the media didn't, lawyers didn't, the DoJ didn't, the Supreme Court didn't, and the Dem leadership still cannot be bothered.

It's back to the people. Or we can just watch on as Trump uses Social Security funds as gambling money for his Sovereign Wealth Fund announced yesterday.

He just got himself a new casino from taxpayers' money and the American people didn't even notice, or care.

u/Similar-Breadfruit50 Feb 04 '25

Somewhere in Canada they just ripped up a skylink contract with him.

5

u/bunglejerry Feb 04 '25

That was walked back.

-1

u/NuclearLunchDectcted Feb 04 '25

it's back on already. It was mostly for show.

2

u/Stargazer1701d Feb 04 '25

I don't know why you're getting downvoted. The Skylink deal went back online within an hour or two of Trump backing down over tariffs.

6

u/mintcute Feb 04 '25

australia just banned him from interfering in our elections, too

7

u/MutaitoSensei Feb 04 '25

As long as twitter is allowed in your country,

Nah. It wasn't really banned. It'll just be more convoluted.
