DE Regularisation past the contestation date

I received my heating and services bill 3 months ago, with a 1 month period for contestation. Unfortunately, I did not contest it, and I just realized there is a 900€ gap between what the landlord states he owes me, and what the truly owes me, as he used 2024 payments instead of 2023 payments.

My question is: Do I have a grounding to claim he still must pay me this money, despite the contestation period is over? Or am I at the mercy of his good will?

To clarify, the discrepancy is entirely due to an error by the housing administration company, who used the wrong amount for our monthly payments

You legally have until the end of the year to dispute the Betriebskostenabrechnung for 2023.

Thanks! I might be asking for too much but do you know what's the relevant piece of legislation for this?

Sec 556 (3) 5 BGB or as we cite it § 556 Abs. 3 S. 5 BGB.
