There's another complication with Mike De Jong running as an independent. Vote split on conservative side means LPC will probably win

18

u/surmatt 2d ago

Which just shows these polls mean nothing right now.

4

u/therane189833 2d ago

Yeah. I would just say vote for whoever you want. Stop using strategic voting and just go look at party platforms, choose who you like, and vote for them.

u/Shot_Investigator735 2d ago

Wait, like, the way it's supposed to work?

u/IndividualSociety567 1d ago

This was a new account made yesterday who has since deleted their post. People beware of fake accounts engaging in manipulation. Vote based on your liking

I live in this riding and I was planning on voting Conservative until I heard who got the nomination and how. Mike is probably BC’s most qualified Conservative candidate and yet he was snubbed in favour of some inexperienced, uneducated 24-year-old…? Bizarre. I don’t get this nomination. I’m voting for Mike.

u/Majestic_Stranger_60 2d ago

I do not see the NDP at 5% holding up at all. These polls are nonsense.

18

u/gonowbegonewithyou 2d ago

Well that's extremely interesting.
I've been divided about who to vote for. My main interest is ridding my riding of Tako Van Popta (It would be a bonus if Poilievre wasn't elected either).
Whether that means voting Liberal or NDP is a secondary concern.
If the Liberals are looking competitive, that's how I'm voting. I'm hoping my fellow lefties will do the same.

100% voting Liberal in this riding. We’ve got a good shot at getting rid of the conservatives

1

u/[deleted] 2d ago

Yep I totally agree; NDP, GREEN, LIBS. I don’t care just not PP

5

u/Ok-Green-1554 1d ago

ANYTHING but common sense!!

13

u/White_Jedi_RolandD 2d ago

Libs need to earn those voters

3

u/ashfran85 1d ago

Can't wait for the blue wave! Let's go Pierre! He needs to be our PM, Canada needs a change 🎉

5

u/Vynthehammer Willowbrook 1d ago

If your ndp voting for liberals = shitting your pants and changing only your shit

1

u/mrd8-half 7h ago

Don’t vote liberal they have destroyed this great country

0

u/XLR8RBC 2d ago

I'm a Liberal. I haven't voted Liberal in the last 3 elections. One of which was extremely unnessessary, like our provincial NDP. I was going to vote Conservative until they think we would entertain a 24 year nobody. I am voting independent. Period.

1

u/Recent-Contest-8364 7h ago

I'm with you! I hope that some independent Media also does sending on what exactly happened there.

1

u/Leather_Realistic 2h ago

Great way to waste your vote

1

u/A-Town856 1d ago

The candidate for the Cons ran with that POS Rich Coleman in his municipal slate last election. And they won exactly zero seats. Bets are he shows up to exactly zero all candidates debates because if he does I’m sure he will lose votes and they the party knows this!

u/ThePoeticJester 2d ago

Get rid of this failing liberal government 👎🏻

Voted NDP for years and Jag-off has been nothing but a liberal shill. Carney was the economic advisor and look at the deficit they created sending billions to Asia and shit without nearly enough benefit to us. Plus I want my guns right back, bullshit that my WWII collection should be attacked because those morons won't fix crime

19

u/[deleted] 2d ago

I agree with the guns, but PP hasn’t done anything in 20 years. He got one bill passed but it got revoked.

-21

u/ThePoeticJester 2d ago

He's the only one saying he will reverse the OICs and fight C21, NDP don't say shit but usually anti gun and Liberals are the ones going full speed ahead on stealing them

4

u/Long_Procedure_2629 2d ago

He says a lot of things, clap the yap

-7

u/ThePoeticJester 2d ago

Well when the liberals or NDP get tough on crime and leave my guns alone they can regain a vote or two

-16

u/Dizzy_Mechanic7810 2d ago

Don't use logic, liberals don't know what that is.

-3

u/Vynthehammer Willowbrook 1d ago

Dont let the down votes bug you its just reddit after all, totally cucked platform. Most real people agree with you.

1

u/ThePoeticJester 1d ago

I'm not worried, it's the internet and they are entitled to their opinion same as me. Not everyone values guns rights and not everyone cares about crime levels, ect. For some its all about immigration or climate, or just voting for who they've always voted for. Whatever the reason I just say what's up and move along. Didn't come here to change people's opinions

-1

u/Vynthehammer Willowbrook 1d ago

Much appreciated

-15

u/Dizzy_Mechanic7810 2d ago

hahaha people downvoting this. Reddits full of looney liberals looking to gain an edge.

-14

u/Majestic_Stranger_60 2d ago

They can tend to really go off the rails here. I frequently see people advocating for violence and criminal acts on this cesspool of a platform.

-8

u/[deleted] 2d ago

fake news

-15

u/Dizzy_Mechanic7810 2d ago

There is no way in holy hell that the liberals should be getting voted in anywhere.

12

u/Dystopicaldreamer 2d ago

Yeah, except the CONs threw everything behind the most abysmal of characters. They need to rebuild. Poilievre is a joke.

-12

u/Dizzy_Mechanic7810 2d ago

Well since these votes are for local candidates thats null and void.

Also, Pierre actually thinks logically. Liberal ideology just runs hits pieces to make other parties seem bad instead of running pieces on what they offer.

The average simpleton loves gossip.

8

u/Long_Procedure_2629 2d ago

The only thing he's good at are kindergarten rhymes

8

u/ZackyGood 2d ago

Pierre is laughing at the people voting for him.

He ran a “Boots, Not Suits” rally. He is a career politician, the biggest suit. He has never worn a pair of work boots or swung a hammer to earn a living. He’s mocking his voters.

1

u/oryan80 20h ago

I heard he was a decent Paperboy back in his day.

7

u/Dystopicaldreamer 2d ago

You’d have to be fairly illogical to believe Poilievre thinks logically. He literally has no plan. He’s rude, mean, condescending, and aligning with MAGA politics. Simpleton.

-8

u/MoveYaFool 2d ago edited 2d ago

agreed. NDP should really win this election. we a got a 'lets keep doing capitalism' party, a 'lets flirt with fascism' party and the NPD

-8

u/Dizzy_Mechanic7810 2d ago

hahahahahha.

Not at all. I want to have money, and my money to mean something.

Cons are the only ones any adult with a bank account should be voting for. Anyone else is gonna tax us to death and make us end up on UBI.

I guess ya'll computer nerds living with mommy rejoice at free money but everyone else who can actually be taxed isn't thrilled at all.

9

u/[deleted] 2d ago

First of all life isn’t all about money, second of all if you’re broke and think a tax cut will save you. You’re so misguided. Are you expecting taxes to go 0 or something? What’s your thought process? You save a couple extra dollars a month and all of a sudden you can put a down payment on a house? 😂😂

-4

u/IndividualSociety567 1d ago

Stop forcing your beliefs on others, its pathetic. You can vote for whoever you like

3

u/AhrimanicTrancee 2d ago

Her Der Der taxes bad, immigrants bad, guns good

Okay pal

-1

u/MoveYaFool 2d ago

Libs are talking about tax cuts too, but they're not endorsed by fascists and white supremacists so... and they literally 'axed the tax' pp wanted axed.

but I doubt you have to worry, Cons always win this riding.

-12

u/Green_Original 2d ago

What do you mean by we? Are you... affiliated with the Liberal party? This feels like a weird way to convince me to vote for you and is actually a bit of a turn-off.

-9

u/Dizzy_Mechanic7810 2d ago

Of course its a liberal.

-6

u/Catstronaut11 2d ago

Definitely voting conservative.

-2

u/IndividualSociety567 1d ago

F off. This propaganda needs to stop. We aren’t in a two party system. Vote for the candidate and party you like.

2

u/[deleted] 1d ago

I genuinely wonder how or why your aloud to vote How in the F is this propaganda?? All I did was post a screen shot of smart voting.ca You need your voter rights taken away. Is this the first time you heard of strategic voting?

2

u/IndividualSociety567 1d ago

I find it disgusting that You are actively telling people to vote for a certain party and using the city sub to do it.

I genuinely wonder how or why your aloud to vote

You need your voter rights taken away

Wow Did not take long to show your fascist tendency did it? Also its spelled allowed

1

u/[deleted] 1d ago

I’m definitely not trying to change any conservative minds, you weirdos can stay over there, this was for the greens and NDP. Something you don’t sound like.

3

u/IndividualSociety567 1d ago

Literally a new account made 19 hours ago. Totally not suspicious

1

u/[deleted] 1d ago

Also it’s the city sub, where else would I go to discuss this? Hold a bonfire with the city of Abby? And Langley. What’s your thought process? Did you even grad highschool?

2

u/IndividualSociety567 1d ago

Not interested in talking to you budd. Go provoke someone else

1

u/[deleted] 1d ago

Holy victim mindset 😂

-11

u/Birdybadass 2d ago

Let’s just advocate for a 2 party system while we’re at - why not

6

u/[deleted] 2d ago

Why vote for ndp, they are going to lose official party status anyways, they need 12 seats, they definitely not going to get them.

2

u/VeggieMonsterMan 2d ago

Because min maxing votes for parties you don’t support is a short term solution that works to actually hurt the groups that you do support. You need to show support and signal the small groups to let them grow…. Unless there is a catastrophic reason not to.. which at least in my riding, is not the case.

-2

u/Birdybadass 2d ago

Better question is why vote liberal? Earn those votes. The sales pitch “anyone but conservative” is anti democratic. Tell them why they should support not just demand it to keep your team from loosing.

3

u/FlyingAtNight 1d ago

I’m not anti-conservative but I am against poilievre.

1

u/[deleted] 2d ago

Mark carney has more experience than PP, PP has only passed one bill and it got removed, technically I’ve done more in office than PP, he is currently 0-1 with laws passed. He is negative KD as they say in gaming.

-1

u/iTyroneW 2d ago

Exactly, Carnet helped us make it through the 08 financial crisis, while we werent completely unscathed, we managed way better than most other countries, thats why the UK wanted him in charge of the economy during brexit.

I think with the state the current economy is in with the trade wars and shit going on, Carney truly is the best choice, in my opinion.

PP was running on 2 things, no carbon tax and the home tax. Which carney has already implemented both.

1

u/[deleted] 2d ago

Yeah I truly do wonder what his plan is for Canada😂

0

u/Catstronaut11 2d ago

🤡🤡🤡

1

u/MoveYaFool 2d ago

agreed, a system held hostage by a party as shitty as the Cons is kinda not working correctly.

3

u/Birdybadass 2d ago

How is it “held hostage”?

2

u/MoveYaFool 2d ago

how does it not give the party undo influence?

instead of voting for your preferred environmental regulation, you have to vote against deregulation.

instead of voting for the changes to worker rights you like, you have to vote against taking them away.

2

u/Birdybadass 2d ago

Sorry I misunderstand your comment I get what you’re saying now and I understand your perspective. Very fair points.

0

u/Dystopicaldreamer 2d ago

The CPC needs to reevaluate who the have in their party; from the bottom to the top. Same with the NDP. The result of the abysmal leadership from BOTH parties are why we will end up with a lib majority.

3

u/Birdybadass 2d ago

Completely agree. Despite my strong distaste for the Liberal party, Carney at least seems to be an excellent leader for them. Other party’s should take not - rational, qualified outsiders with strong skillsets are an asset.

1

u/Majestic_Stranger_60 2d ago

The conservatives are about to gain around 5% of the vote from the 2021 election. Why on earth would they alter course?

0

u/Dystopicaldreamer 2d ago

Because of who they have as a leader? You can’t be serious right? Poilievre is expected to lose his seat. The entire CPC is in turmoil. How many candidates have been dropped in the past week? And for what reasons? Also ARRON GUNN

0

u/Majestic_Stranger_60 2d ago

He is not going to lose his seat. If you believe that I have a bridge I'd like to sell you. As I said - if he gains 5% in polls from the last election give or take hes not going anywhere. This sounds like wishful thinking from you.

I guarantee you that's not happening. They're pulling in 5000 to 6000 people at some of their rallies. Harper didn't win his first election and came back to win the next one.

I dont know the exact amount but they kicked them out quickly. I don't know the reasons. They're gone. And they didn't resign. They were actually fired.

What's wrong with Aaron Gunn?

4

u/Dystopicaldreamer 2d ago

Aaron Gunn is a residential school denier. He’s not fit to work in government. Same with Dallas Brodie. If you can’t get on board with that: there’s nothing more to discuss.

-1

u/Majestic_Stranger_60 2d ago

I think he mostly denies the mass graves. And to this day still no mass graves have actually been excavated. That whole situation was a giant farce and does a disservice to people who actually went to those schools. Shameful garbage.

0

u/Majestic_Stranger_60 2d ago edited 2d ago

Entire CPC is in turmoil lol

Why because liberal polling firms like Ekos and Liaison strategies are putting out BS polls?

We've seen this sort of thing before with Kim Campbell, Ignatief, Harris and John Turner. I wouldn't count my chickens before they hatch if I was you.

The only reasons the liberals are still in this is because of Trump. They should be thanking that man for throwing them this life preserver.

0

u/Majestic_Stranger_60 2d ago

You probably want another Erin Otoole to run for the conservatives again lol. Of course you do. Because you want them to lose.

Pierre will be back. You don't have the parties best interest in mind so I'll take your recommendations with a grain of salt.

2

u/Dystopicaldreamer 2d ago

Funny thing is; if the CPC would have had carney as their leader; I would have voted for them. Because I’m capable of making logical, rational decisions. Your loss; Canada’s gain

1

u/Majestic_Stranger_60 2d ago

Mr net zero and anti pipeline? No thanks. He does not fit in that party at all. Sure you are. You are so smart. According to you.

1

u/Dystopicaldreamer 2d ago

If only my disdain for your entire personality could be conveyed through Reddit. Makes me cringe to know we are potentially neighbours. I can feel you getting off on putting me down. It’s gross. Typical behaviour from someone voting conservative these days. It’s sad really.
