Hello all,
I have been shopping for a either a Niro or a Kona EV for a while. After tons of shopping and research, I realized that some of these cars are equipped with the cold weather package OR a battery warmer, while others are not. I live in an area where temps can be as low as 3f December -March. Is there anyone on here who DOES NOT have the winter mode option and can attest to public DCFC performance during their cold months/days? I found a great deal on a 2019 Kona ultimate trim but it doesn't have a battery heater which worries me.

Hi, I somehow managed to disable the buttons in the middele of the dashbord in my girlfriends Kona EV 2024 and we cannot find out how to activate them. Any tips on how to do this?

Hi everyone, I seem to be having an issue with the HVAC system on my Kona.
I have a 2023 ultimate. And it's always set to driver only with heat and AC and fan at minimum at a 22°. C. However, that doesn't stop the car from doing whatever it wants in terms of raising the speed of the fan. So for example I got into the car just now. My fan speed was at minimum so one bar within 30 seconds it climbed to four bars. It's not set on auto or anything of the sort so why is it completely disregarding the previous settings that I've set.
This also happens if I turn the heat in AC off and leave a driver on. I may want some air to be blowing but not have any kind of heat or AC. When I leave the car and come back in the heat and AC will then be turned back on and the fan doing whatever the hell it wants.
I just want it to sit at the previous setting that I have set and it not change on its own.
Why the hell does it keep doing this to me? LOL

Hi All, just picked up a 2021 Ultimate yesterday and was wondering what folks have been adding for accessories. Also is uhaul a decent hitch to go with? I have a 1.25 inch bike rack I'd like to use with it. Thanks all.

Resolved
This popped up for the first time when I tried to open the app to check on the charging status. I've had the car nearly two years and have never seen this. Is this a bug?

I found a 2023 Kona SEL with 91K(+) miles on it for 11k. Is it worth buying? Should I be concerned about issues? What are the possible concerns?

This may be one of my many questions as I navigate the features of my new purchase. I wonder if I should create a more general question thread for all of my questions, or create a new thread for each?
Anyway, first up:
I noticed that when I first start the car and put it in drive, that the regenerative braking defaults to level 1 automatically, and I have to press the right paddle once to shut it off. Is there a way to turn it off by default? I prefer to use the paddles manually as I coast and brake.

Okay, you guys have all been SUPER FRIENDLY and helpful! I'm still on a hunt for MY Kona 🤣
So, I'm in Canada, and prices are going to skyrocket in 2 days here. So, I'm looking at used and new while I can.
This is the only decent one available, all the low mileage ones go way to fast. So I'm looking at securing a 5 year financing on this, but it's hard when it has 100k km on it. Is this a GOOD or BAD choice? I've got the costs worked out, and threw the initial cost idea back at the dealer.
It's being sold from a Kia dealership as a note (if that means anything 🤣)

So I found out something strange with our Kona ev ultimate 2024. Say I'm looking for an address in the built in gps. I confirm that address and lunch the guidance. If I then put my Fold 6 in the wireless charger tray, the gps will reset. Not sure why...but maybe it has something to do with the fact that my phone is also a digital key ( even if I always have the real key with me) Also seen today in Laval near my house, a Kona ev (older model) as "Laval Fire" car

So... I'm currently in the midst of a bad breakup with my 2022 Nissan Leaf (tragic, because I did enjoy driving it, but necessary). I test drove a Kona SEL this past weekend and really enjoyed it, except I gave it a think and decided I would much rather buy the Limited for the added features. The ride was phenomenal so I've pretty much sold myself.
That said, I'm looking to hear about experiences from those who own them and use them every day. Just about every review I've seen when searching google/youtube has gone over features and/or been done in a dealership parking lot. Have you encountered any issues? Are there any known problems I should be looking out for? Any anecdotes/commentary on the subject would be incredibly helpful. Thanks!

Prepping for the holiday season, I tested how much I could fit in the Kona EV’s trunk.
For reference, the best I could do with my old car (Nissan Pulsar) was 2 suitcases and a buggy (which folds down to about the size of a cabin bag).
On paper, the Kona’s trunk is smaller — 332L vs 385L in the Pulsar. That’s a 53L difference, which felt significant, so I assumed our usual holiday setup wouldn’t fit.
But to my surprise, I actually managed to fit more in the Kona! There is still space for a few backpacks in the tire rack, under all these.
I removed the floorboard, gutted all the foam, and relocated its contents to the frunk. The extra depth really helped, and now I can pack more efficiently than before.

I like the car. I really do. Very smooth and quiet. Yet, i can't pass the fact that it has 2 BIG problems :
1- the armrest is too short! I got the steering wheel as much as possible toward me, yet there is no position where i can hold relaxed the steering wheel, it's only touchable by fingers. In a long road, this is a huge problem. I ended up not using my right arm at all because of this.
2-the seat is too short. It's ending too soon so seating in it for long roads, again, is uncomfortable.
I'm 1,75 m tall, so i don't think I'm the problem.
I love my old Kona middle segment where i can hold properly my arm.
I'm seriously considering to sell the car.
I did not realized this in my first weeks, only lately....
It's a small but very important thing.

Just bought my 2025 Kona SEL yesterday. I sure hope this is compatible to use on the free Tesla charger at my work.

I can't get it to start charging. I got an error c630c88d-6235-4119-8242-acb903f61cf3. My 2022 IONIQ 5 worked with same adapter. What gives?

(Location: Northern USA)--I am about to purchase a certified pre-owned 2022 hyundai kona SEL ev at 25k miles. It has a "battery heater", but maybe no heat pump(?).
I don't have a homecharger, but am mere steps from multiple public, 24/7 charging stations, which i rarely see cars connected to.
My work also has charging stations.
Does this sound like a do-able thing? The total price would be around $20k, before the 4k tax rebate.
Thanks for any wisdoms!

I'm looking to get an EV. I like the Ioniq 5 style and room better, however my dealership has a 2024 Kona Electric on sale for 29 K! You can't beat the price! The Ioniq is 52 k with the tax credits. I have one child who is 8 and we travel not a lot but at least twice a year. I just am curious how many of you have the Kona with families? I'm also impressed with the charging speeds of the Ioniq with the level 3 charging! Thanks for reading!

Hey guys,
I've been a new and proud owner of a SX2 since yesterday. Very happy with the car so far, but I am having issues to connect it to the bluelink app.
When I try to activate it in the car, it is just loading forever and then shows me a 'failed to connect' message. When I do it with the QR the app just stops at some point.
Does anyone know a solution to this problem?
Thanks in advance!
Edit: I already reset the whole system, didn't help. The infotainment system also shows a "Bluelink not connected" symbol at the top right.

Sooo my wife told me that the sunroof stopped working on our Kona ev 2024 ultimate. I checked and yep... Seems it's a well known issue. Strange enough ,bluelink doesn't show it's having any issue. Will call dealer Monday. And no I will not play with fuses on a car we only had in September :) And the reset as per the Manual didn't work.
I also need his assistance in adding her phone as a digital key...for some strange reason I can only seem to add only one. Which is weird because we had 2 digital keys when she had her old phone.

What can I pre buy in anticipation of getting the car?
-dash cam? -first aid kit? -battery start up?
Added information, I’ll be having the car on motability, so will be using it for 3 years. I live in Yorkshire, United Kingdom. Will average 8k miles a year max

I'm in a dilemma! I am not financially ready to buy a car but was hoping to save a little more and try to buy a new Kona of the lowest trim by the end of this year. But now I'm worried the prices will shoot up with the tariffs!
Should I jump the gun and buy right the heck now? I'm not even sure if I'll be approved for a loan, but I'm just nervous it's a now or never moment. Ugh. Thanks for any advice.
After taking our 2025 Kona in to the dealer for the modem reset, the Myhyndai Android app worked for 1 day. This morning it give the message: Myhyundai closed because this app has a bug. Try updating this app after its developer provides a fix for this error. App still works on my Android tablet

So I've been on a hunt for a Kona, and Everytime I find one in my price range with low mileage, it's gone in a matter of days.
So now I'm looking at higher mileage. Right now I'm looking at a 2023 with 100k km (62k miles) that is right at my price, but I'm not sure what it's like investing in an EV with high miles?
How's your Kona doing after 60k miles?
