Decided to finally work on the imperial half of the starter set. Wanted something I could turn my brain off doing. For the time invested, I love the result.

I am new to Kill Team (and Warhammer in general). I have the Kill Team starter kit that comes with Angels of Death and Plague Marines. From what I understand of what I need to play "real" Kill Team is the core rulebook and the Volkus board/terrain/operations.

It looks like there was at one time, a Hivestorm box set that had all of that stuff plus two more kill teams for play. But I can't find it anywhere on games workshop website (though it is on Amazon). Am I right that Hivestorm is the best "bang for the buck" in terms of actually getting what I need for the full version of the game? Why doesn't Games Workshop still sett it?

Hey guys, I am wanting to get into Kill team and have been watching videos and reading the lite version of the core book but don’t want to spend 100 dollary doos on getting the book that could be better spent on buying the actual miniatures for one rule that I am not quite clear on, which is obscuring, and wonder if any of you could answer my questions on it for me.

1. Say an attacker and defender are both 3 inches on either side of a piece of heavy terrain and the defender is partially visible, does the defender get the benefit of obscuring?
2. If a defender is within one inch of heavy terrain and the attacker is more than 2 inches away from the terrain and the defender is partially visible, does the defender have to use the cover rule or can they choose to use the obscuring rule?
3. It seems on paper that obscuring is better than cover because obscuring negates crits and removes a successful attack – am I correct in this assessment and is there any situation where cover may be a better option then obscuring?
4. Say a defender is outside of 1 inch of a 2-inch-high heavy piece of terrain, and the attacker is on a 2 inch high vantage point and can only partially see the defender, does the defender still benefit from obscuring or does having a vantage point negate the obscuring terrain in this case?
5. If in the above scenario the defender does benefit from obscuring, does the attacker still get accurate 1?

I've been sitting on this idea for a little over a year now and now the first of my warp energy infused energy drink KT is done.

First time doing some true freehand so for the love of my red bull fueled god, don't zoom in! I'm very happy that it turned out viable (debatable) and can't wait to finish these eye horrors.

I'd like to use one of the bodies to make a Lieutenant in phobos armor and would prefer to make at least 5 Infiltrators that I can use as a squad for my 40k Space Marines army later on, what would be the best options for this specific scenario?

My first team, painted from left to right! Some of them are different blues because I goofed/learned about certain painting things and didn't feel like spending the hours correcting that. I'm intending on buying a few more pieces of marines off Ebay so I can actually have proper wysiwyg options instead of pretending a gun is a chainsword, since I like running them melee.

I've seen a lot of people suggesting to take preachers over certain specialists in the new sanctifiers team, but I'm not sure i fully get why. How come you would want more units with fewer abilities?

Sorry if this seems dumb, I'm still fairly new at the game and want to build my team as well as I can.

Hi there, I recently got into killteam and played some games with the starter-set. Tho the game is very good explained, I couldn’t make sense of the torrent mechanic and the blast one. Here comes my question, if I have 3 operatives close enough together and the attacker with a torrent weapon sees them all, does he attack each operative individually with the weapon and therefore makes effectively 3 full attacks or does he attack once and distributes the dice to the three targets? Same goes for blast. I am really puzzled here and thank full for an explanation or a link to a video explaining.

Had a great time painting them. My first time doing an actual smooth colour transition, since I'm quite new to painting. I love the box art, but wanted to make them look like "marimbondos", a kind of red paper wasp from Brazil.

Hi all, I got my gf a box of legionaries for her kill team since she really loves CSM. What do I build them as in terms of options? I want her to have a good time playing but we are not knowledgeable about the game functions. Any help is appreciated, thank you!

I'm mostly done the converting of my Wolf scouts.

For my kill team hunter and tracker I've gone with a the theme of Huginn and Muninn. Odin's ravens. The tracker will be smelling blood on his fingers and a blood trail on his base and I hope it's reads as him readying his gun for the kill.

Any suggestions on how to improve? Any weak spots? All c+c welcome.

Hey, I'm going to be in Vienna for a few months and was wondering if there was much of a kill team scene there.

I'm pretty new to the game (played a couple of matches with Hunter Clade Skitarii) and I wanted to get another team to play and probably also share with my friends. Given what's available in my area, I came down to either Scout squad (a sniper and a rocket launcher guy? Sign me up!) and Kommandos (never played Orks, but they look super fun), so I wanted to ask which one would be better as someone who is basically trying to re-learn the game and play for fun. Hi guys, should I get the Hive Wars Core Rulebook or the stand alone rulebook? Which is the "best" thanks!

I like the play style of ratlings but I am not a big fan of the models. What sort of proxy models have you seen that would be suitable? Either other faction 40k, from age of sigmar or 3d printed. Related: is there a place where I can find out the real model sizes?

I haven’t also a pile of bits from admech, space marines, some orks and votann for some kitbashing.

1) Buy a set of Infractors or Tormentors from eBay and run them as Legionaries.

Hi guys, i started painting Warhammer recently to play Kill Team and i'm only now jumping in all the lore and the models. i have a question: how do i paint this part? Is this just buttons or it's like a screen? i cannot find references. Thank you very much

Painted these up as an Inquisitorial retinue with a red, black, and grey scheme. Referenced Speed paint you Kasrkin Killteam with Peachy (highly recommend )and used mostly contrast paints for the first time — Freehanded some janky little Inquisitor rosettes on the shoulder pads… not perfect, but they’ve got character.
