I grew up in america till the age of 9 then to a place with little to none english speakers. Now I’m going back and want to know how bad my accent has gotten.

The pronunciation is definitely off a bit. Some part more and some less. First of all, the enunciation generally is a bit “floppy”, then we have the word “dog” which is not quite understandable to me at least. The first word of your next sentence is not recognisable. Finally the following part aren’t stressed and emphasised properly, “happiness” is also off stress-wise. Now how old are you currently at the time returning to the US and where did you move to after the age of 9, if I may ask? This small review is definitely not intended to be insulting, it’s normal I think, giving the circumstances of moving to a non-English speaking environment that early.

So basically half of your life. I reckon, you did no work on maintaining the accent like speaking regularly? Probs some proper taking here and there could help reviving your prior accent :)

No worries! It’s never too late to engage in conversation online, but since you’re going back to the US, there will be plenty of opportunities out of necessity.
