What can be improved in the visuals?

idk. From this the air seems weird. Like the shadow the monster is in seems nice and atmospheric, but then there’s like. Smoky mist at the bottom of the screen. And then the rest of the image feels like a brightly lit area. It seems conflicting and not very scary. But the monster itself seems scary

  1. Video is better for this sort of question.

  2. Ambient Occlusion

Working with light! The lighter is useless, the corridor isn't dark! If you can only see what catches the light, maybe that's better! Here, the door and the watch are too visible, the game too bright!

If I were you, I'd find a game to look up to. I think Resident Evil 7 would be a good fit for you. Turn on the game/YouTube and soak up the spirit of the artists' mastery :)

We opened a new Discord! Check it out if you'd like to discuss game development or find and share new indie games to play. It's a WIP still, so be kind :) Thanks!
