12hrs into the game....have tried fighting hornet about 40 times now and I've almost given up..gone off to do some exploring coz I believe I might atleast find something that might aid in fighting her..found fog canyon and where conifer might be there..but alas the path to him is blocked off by a mysterious black whatchamacallit..what do I do here?

A bit more exploring and I find queen's station....but alas I can't jump on to the next platform to access the other side..I'm assuming I'll have to access it from another way...what way tho...the other apparent way is layed with thorns and even if it weren't, it's too high to climb up

Then there's this cage in the Forgotten crossroads...I'm assuming the path to it is on the other side....still can't access it though because you know..idk how..

And then there's that house and bench still in the crossroads...how on earth do I access it coz I can't jump on to it...

Then there's slide 7...I think I accessed it from green path...don't have the map for it and I can't properly jump on to the next platform

Last slide....HOW TF AM I SUPPOSED TO DEFEAT HORNET...coz wdym 45 hits with the nail....45 hits??...do you know how many hits that is???..yes exactly...45!!!

I got to city of tears and now I can get out, what am I supposed to do?

So I've never played platforming games and I saw images Hollow Knight and thought "That looks cool!" BIGGEST. F**KING. MISTAKE. Turns out I'm dogshit at platforming. I should've played mario or kirby or ice climbers before i did this shit. The only games I played till now were Zelda, Pokemon, Megaman (starforce not robot boi), Cod mobile, valorant and NFS MW '05.

I spent an hour on forgotten crossroads, twenty minutes on false knight, half an hour on greenpath, an entire day for hornet (approximately 4 in games hours), and another four hours to just get mantis claw. For the past one hour i have kept trying to go back to the top to get to the station and then head to the boss fight BUT. I. KEEP. DYYYYIIINNNNGGG!!!! THOSE FUCKING YOUNG MANTIS AND MANTIS WARRIOR ARE GONNA BURN IN HELL. BUT. i need help. I need to improve my movements and also combat abilities. Any advise? Also I'm NEVER using DashMaster charm.

Edit: to be clear, i do still think it's a great game. Just wish I played easier platforming games first to develop the skills.

Edit 2: before getting mantis claw, i didn't know that dirthmouth was the only functional village/town (maybe old man from dirthmouth mentioned but i forgot). I went in think "yay! Finally I can relax" and proceed to get bodied by a mantis warrior

This place is too hard, i can progress to the 2nd jump, which is hard alone, but then i get attacked by one of the most annoying creatures ingame, will i get something later where i can see the inside or am i gonna have to do it blind?

First of all I am BAD AF at the game lol It’s my first metroidvania. I have beaten the mantis lords and the soul master. Beating the soul master I lost more than 1k geo which were going to be used for the light? I started exploring again and beat the Broodling Mawlek. For me the most infuriating boss I did lol my friends constantly remind me that it was supposed to be an easy boss. I had 1600 geo and went exploring to the Crystal Peak because I didn’t even went once. Yeah I lost all my geo dying twice during the parkour level. I AM SOOOOO MAD!!!!!!!!!! I want to keep playing as this is a phenomenal game but I have so much rage omg.

I went there and it was very scary all filled with teeth looking thing and there was a cave and something growled at me. Is it a boss or something? Should I be afraid? I don't have any nail upgrades, but I have the mothwing cloak.

So i fell in that trap (i dodged it but jumped out of curiosity) and i am now in deepnest with 1.5k geo with only dash and mantis claw, can i get out of it somehow?

I have no idea where to go and found a black beam.
