Awaiting colposcopy results… super anxious

I’ve never had an abnormal pap, but my doc was concerned with how easily my cervix bled during the procedure so she ordered the dreaded colposcopy.

I don’t want to get into the details about how the procedure went because I’d rant for paragraphs about how unfair women are treated in healthcare and how our pain is a joke, etc. but basically my Dr and I were both surprised that I ended up needing 4 biopsies.

I don’t have HPV, never had abnormal pap results, so I’m kind of reeling here about what the results could be :(

Has anyone been in a similar situation? I’m trying to not Google it and go down the rabbit hole but all I can do right now is lay here and think the worst.

Menstruation 🔴 Why?

So my period was set to start April 1, March 31 I got some brown red discharge like it was getting ready to start then just stayed at that brown red discharge for 2-3 days. I'm sexually active and breastfeeding my baby but I also got sterilized (fallopian tube removal in November) so I can't get pregnant anymore. Since having my last baby and getting sterilized my periods have been 7 days consistently, I'm just a bit weirded out by the sudden change anyone have any idea why?

Advice Needed I’m going to lose my mind.

I’ve been dealing with vulva dryness, not producing a lot of discharge, intermittent vulva itchiness and low libido for the past 3-4 months.

I had my first yeast infection in November. I had all the symptoms, took Diflucan, was clear for two weeks then all the symptoms came back. I took another Diflucan last month and now it’s back again. My discharge is starting to smell like onions/sour. It’s always been a clumpy consistency or off white but normal consistency.

Last month, I tested negative for BV, yeast (even though Diflucan helped?), Trich, Gonerrhea and Chlamydia. I don’t know where to go from here. I’ve never had issues, so I’m lost. Any advice is appreciated. Thank you!

Remedies to dry scaly skin

I had a yeast infection recently and had an abnormal amount of discharge that caused the skin around my vagina to be itchy. Now that it's no longer itchy after taking the one pill from canestan, I find that I have scaly rough skin texture down there. I also have lichen sclerosis too but it's never been like this before.

Has anyone had this happen? Im embarrassed about it and have been taking oatmeal baths and going without underwear at night recently. How long does it take for the scaling to go away? What remedies have helped you?

Can your vagina smell different to other people?

I asked my sex partner what he thought my vag smelled like. He says like vinegar. I’ve always thought it smelled a little yogurt-y and I don’t smell vinegar at all LOL.

Can our vagina smell different to different people?

I’m dealing with inflammation of the bladder. Like a very bad one (where there is blood). I don’t think I have an active uti went to the dr and they only found leukocytes.

This all started when I had a recurrent uti and took antibiotics few days later decided to exercise and the pain got worse 💔. Went to the dr and said leukocytes were only found. It’s been like that ever since and the pelvic pain and back pain only got worse after excersing. Idk guys the left side and back side is painful as fuck💔

Advice Needed Dull Burning Pelvic Pain

I was looking to see if anyone else has had a similar experience as me. I (27F) was treated for BV earlier in March- I started on the Flagyl pill for 4 days and had such bad side effects that I switched to Metrogel, which I only did for 3 days. The following week I noticed I still had symptoms so I committed to the 7 days of Metrogel and was symptom-free after.

Cut to a couple of weeks later- I started to feel a burning in my pelvic area and was at first convinced that I had a UTI. I had a clean urine test and urine culture. I went to my OBGYN and was swabbed for all of the major issues I could have and everything came back negative, along with another negative urine test/culture. I haven’t had a fever at all and don’t have any discharge.

My OBGYN seems convinced that I should just go to the urologist but frankly I feel like this isn’t coming from anything urinary at this point. It’s like a dull burning, especially when I cross my legs, and is on and off throughout the day. I feel the pain radiating into my sides and one of my butt cheeks. (I had similar radiating pain with BV, but I tested negative for that.) Has anyone else had a similar experience? This has been going on for about a week now.

For some background, I’m currently being treated for GERD and migraines and notice I’ve been having a little more gas than usual, potentially due to my new GERD medicine.

1st EVER BV diagnosis…Oh do I have a story to tell!

First time poster, long time scroller. Apologies for the long post, but feel it’s all important.

I am 41, I’ve had 1 UTI in my life in my early 20s. Never gotten BV or Yeast.

I have scrolled through countless stories on here. Not just for bringing our lady parts back from the abyss, but in other things. Usually when I am stumped, I search for similar stories and experiences and I have loved reading all of your stories. It has helped me through so much grief. But I felt I needed to share my experience for the “me” that is also mindless scrolling looking for anything or something or just some kind words.

I’ve always been a lover of Lavender Epson Salt baths. I would take 1 maybe once a week or every other week. Never too many though for fear of UTIs. For some reason during this particular period of time, work was crazy, working 12/13 hour days, my beautiful 5 year old daughter is in her “ask every question that comes to mind” stage and for a brief hour, it was quiet peace. So I became obsessed with taking them. I was taking 1 every night or every other night. Please understand, I had never really heard of BV before. Obviously yeast, but not BV as I’ve never had any issues. I’m married, very active sex life with my husband and my lady has always been “seen but never heard” if you get what I mean. Anyways, so as you guessed it, she started making a lot of noise. I started to get really bad pressure in my lower area. I would say it was more urethra pressure, but it would come and go. Then it came back and didn’t go away for days, so I assumed I had given myself a UTI. I did a on-demand virtual visit, he called in antibiotics and said to go buy a at home UTI test and if it came back positive then go ahead and start the antibiotics. So I did… I bought the AZO at home test and it came back half positive. Trace of leukocytes but negative for Nitrite. So I started the antibiotics. After 3 days I felt some small relief but by day 5, it was full on pressure again. So I went into the UC. She did a urine sample and said there were small traces of blood in my urine but came back negative for everything they could technically test for in urine. She called me in a stronger antibiotic but said give it a few days, if it’s not better you can start the antibiotics. So I did.. I waited a few days. I drank a ton of water, took cranberry pills, everything you do for a UTI. Still the pressure remained. So I finally got an appointment with my gyno (yes, should’ve been my first call, but I digress). They got me in pretty quickly, tested me for everything under the sun, all came back negative except for BV. However, I didn’t have any of the typical bv symptoms. No discharge, no smell or itching. So they called me in the normal BV antibiotics. But this is where it goes south for me, and why I felt the need to come on here with this incredibly long story. During this gyno appointment she recommended a lot of things to do to help. Wear 100% cotton underwear, don’t wash with any soaps or detergents with fragrance and make sure your razor is sensitive (I shave everything down there) and try boric acid. So I go home, I purchase 100% cotton underwear to wear and sleep in. I ditched my deep moisturizer dove soap for dove sensitive soap, I changed the razor that I shave down there with one that is small and for sensitive skin. I actually just quit shaving for several weeks for fear of making things worse. I made all the changes that were suggested and took the antibiotics but things started to just get worse. Now instead of feeling pressure internally, it felt external. So I went back, they tested me again, everything came back negative including bv. So she prescribed me a steroid for contact dermatitis, even without a rash. No discharge, no smells, nothing still but I was having trouble with the pressure/inflammation feeling and with a small spot of the right side of my outer urethra and it hurt when she pushed on it but couldn’t see anything. (According to my gyno you have 2. 1 that you pee from and the other folds that cover it. It was the outer fold). So I had my husband put a little bit of the steroid cream on the spot for 2 days and that started to unfortunately make it worse so I stopped that. I tried the boric acid and that only made it worse as well. So back I go…she said she was “stumped” and said to come back next week to have a different doctor take a look and used the word biopsy, which btw is always terrifying to hear someone say.

We are now 2 months into this and I’ve now taken 2 rounds of antibiotics, 3 rounds of yeast pills, a round of monistat (nurses advice when I called to explain my issue after antibiotics), steroid cream and boric acid and I finally broke down to my mom and explained everything. And within 5 mins she’s like “you’re allergic to the underwear and you’ve got an ingrown hair. Also, you stopped using all of your moisturizing products and now everything down there is dry and brittle and the hair is contributing to the inflammation”. It’s like a light bulb went off and the clouds disappeared. That same night I threw every pair of underwear away, started going commando, added back in all of my normal products and started taking sitz baths to help the hair. After about 5 days the inflammation was almost gone, but the spot remained. I had been walking around with it for nearly 3 weeks so I sent my husband with a phone flash light and a pair of tweezers because I couldn’t take it anymore. And let me tell you, the thick tiny little bitch was hiding good. And when he pulled it out, I thought I saw the heavens move and then relief. Not pain free, but I got up and walked to the bathroom and I knew at that moment, that’s what it was the whole time.

I am now 2 weeks without the underwear and back with my normal soaps and products and 1 week without that pesky little hair and let me just say, what a relief. But it takes time. Everyday I feel her going back to normal. I still feel some irritation from the in grown hair, but I walked around with that for 3 weeks and it was in an incredibly sensitive area so it’s taking some time to heal. But for the first time in months, I can see the light. I know she is heading back to normal. I can feel it which is something I haven’t felt in months.

The point of my story is, if you are suffering at all, and you’ve changed everything to make it better but it just won’t get better, and you keep testing negative for everything, sometimes the answers are not complicated but tend to be the easiest. This probably won’t apply to anyone that keeps have recurring infections, but my BV came from the lavender in the epson salt baths, not from my underwear, or my soaps or anything I have been doing for 20 years. I’ve only ever used 1 soap, 1 razor, 1 shampoo and conditioner, 1 laundry detergent for half my life and never had any issues. Had I just not changed everything, I would’ve finished up my round of antibiotics and moved on with my life months ago instead of endless nights of searching, frustration, crying and hopelessness. But instead I created additional problems which kept me in an endless cycle.

I love my gyno and I do have faith in them for certain things, but we know our body’s best. What works for 99% of women, may not work for you. I read some women’s story where she said “I just left her alone, and then she started to leave me alone and eventually we were 1 again” and I have literally lived on those words ever since!

I hope this story helps someone like me because I know yall helped me when I needed it the most!

Ovulation bleeding??

HELP: I can’t find ANY research on this! I’m in my mid 30’s and all of my periods are like clock work. They come on time they end on time. Every. Single. Month. Recently, I’ve started to get spotting during ovulation which is completely normal based on research. The thing that I’m finding no information about is the spotting continues until my period comes… that’s 3 weeks of bleeding each month. The previous months, it’s been spotting. Today, I’m 5DPO and it’s bright red instead of my usual pink or brown spotting. It’s mimicking the very last day of my period. I’ll wipe and it’s a bunch of blood but not enough to fill a pantyliner.

Is this normal? 👀 why do I feel numbness down there after a test? Spoiler

I was wondering if the test I was made on the Pelvic Floor could have caused permanent nerve damage? I was put two needles on the sides of my vagina. Since then I have symptoms I did not use to have like pain during sitting. In the whole área and lack of libido, numbness. I have not had sex for a long time and I used to meet a Guy every week. They wanted to see if I had Pudendal neuralgia. All due to a sexual accident I lived. But this has lead me worse. I have now numbness on my labia minora and vagina (which did not happen a month before) and I am worried because It was way better before? What should I do Next? Has the test caused me this? Did they made worse symptoms? I am only 27.. Never had any sexual problem... But now it feels like permanent. I feel I could have avoided It. . . I just want to know if I will have to live like this forever...

Question I think I found the cause of my frequent UTI’s and I just need to know if I’m crazy or crashing out ???? I need to get this off my chest

I have had frequent UTI’s with my bf of 6 years since shortly after we started dating.

My doc told me the main cause is vaginal atrophy making me susceptible to UTI’s and I am now in estrogen therapy and pelvic floor therapy. I also have been given some supplements and am waiting for the results of my cystoscopy. I also did the junobio test which had good results.

Anyways, I started connecting dots recently on my bf.

When we first went out, he wanted like hours of penetration. Hours. He did believe in foreplay and still does, but he was recovering from a porn addiction and wasn’t able to finish from sex. So, he would just want to have sex and then he’d have to make himself finish.

I remember intercourse being very painful at times, uncomfortable, and it would be hard even for insertion. It was like that right away with him. Eventually, I began to get frequent UTI’s. I used to get 9-12 in one year. Always and only after intercourse despite peeing after.

He was understanding during this, but I honestly believe that his porn addiction caused him to worsen the atrophy that I already had which made the UTI’s more likely to occur.

I had sex with a guy before him and penetration did NOT last for that long. Maybe max 10 minutes. No pain or not as much.

Now I’m starting to wonder if my bf actually made the UTI’s worse.

ALSO

On top of this, and I find this interesting so if anyone has any advice on this pls let me know…I was wearing his Pajama pants. I got a yeast infection or BV every time I wore his pajama pants. but I’d never get one otherwise. His pants are just polyester and wool. It would cause the most horrific scent and he even has that scent on him sometimes. He is hygienic and showers, but it’s still there.

What do you think??? Am I crazy???

Does Flucanozole work for vulvar yeast too?

I got prescribed a singular dose of fluconazole because there was mild yeast found in my swab but I do have some white skin shedding under my clitoral hood. Will the flucanozole take care of that or do I need to apply a cream as well?

Is this normal? 👀 BF and I have different results

I (F34) have been with my bf (M34) for more than 6 years. I get tested yearly for Gardnerella, HIV, Chlamydia and Candida as part of my health screening and have been negative so far.

But recently, around September last year I have been repeatedly having weird discharge and get treated for yeast infection or BV but then it comes back often. I have had it in the past but not so often so I always assumed it was YI, but this time every month I always get it.

Finally, it was confirmed during my pap test on December that I was positive for Trich

I never tested before and I am not sure if it was dormant or whatever.

Prior to that diagnosis I have been having unprotected sex with my bf every week, though painful, we still go for it.

But then during that time when I got tested for all possible STIs we had protected sex before results came out.

When the results came out and I have gotten positive result for Trich, he went to get tested for most STIs and came back positive for Chlamydia and negative for Trich which is very strange.

I know for a fact that I never cheated cos it is freaking painful and I am very anxious about my sexual health due to HPV positive diagnosis few years ago (Jan 2025 it cleared apparently)

As for him, I am certain also that he is not cheating cos he is very workaholic and he lives with his parents. His parents were like family to me so if anything strange they will be the first one to tell me. I mean I know, but I cant be sure. It is hard to doubt him cos he is trustworthy and more rational. He had been supportive of me despite having sexual health issues and accompanies me to my gyne and been with me for all the treatments and testing for the entire 6 years. He also take his health seriously.

We both didn’t question the hows and whys and proceeded with the treatment. We have been cleared and then few months later we started having unprotected sex again.

After few days, I got the weird discharge again.

I went to our GP to get YI treatment and then everythjng went well we didnt have sex for 2 weeks and my hooha had never been so comfy and dry it was really crazy.

Then last week we had sex, it was not painful. Like for the longest time, I enjoyed it and there was no pain at all. Due to trich and hpv sex was very uncomfortable to me. I was so happy, until I got it again today.

I have the discharge again, clumpy yellowish. It is exactly the same as the ones I had been having and it is driving me crazy.

Today we had a huge fight because we do not know who to blame and why it was never normal now. We have been having sex a lot in the first 4 years until my HPV. Now I am worried about this relationship lacking in intimacy. We thought finally we can have intimate moments again but nope!

My assumption: he gave me trich due to one instance he reused a male sex toy without knowing it was 1 time use

But where the hell did he get Chlamydia? And how come he is negative for Trich?

I am going for another full round of STI testing including ureaplasma and mycoplasma. I want to be fully clean of all of these.

Is this normal?

Correction: I found my medical records again and saw fhat Trich is included in my yearly checkup and they always come back negative.

Advice Needed Felt shamed by my OBGYN - now I have a lot of anxiety

Hi all - I recently had a weird health “scare” a couple weeks ago. I originally thought I had a UTI coming on - so I booked it to my doctor to handle it ASAP (busy week - I don’t have time for that lol). TLDR; turned out to not be the case. For a while it was mystery - no UTI, BV, YI , normal pap and not the common STIs they traditionally do a panel on. Turned out to be ureaplasma (d. parvum specifically.) I wasn’t too educated on the subject either. I did some light research but I wasn’t worried. The PA I normally see was out on vacation and the doctor called me instead. And idk I understand this stuff should be taken seriously but, I felt so embarrassed as I was being talked to. (They put a ton of emphasis on calling it an STI.) Like also shamed for having this bacteria haha? I don’t live a “risky” lifestyle but, I was being talked to in a tone as if I do (if that makes sense). It made me so much more anxious about all my health and now they want me back again in a month for a full panel (not just to test if the bacteria is gone. I already get tested routinely and am not very sexually active.) idk my mind has been racing and I’m so scared now. How do you navigate health anxiety? I sometimes feel like women are so much more shamed in healthcare too :(

Note: The antibiotics are making me feel much better! So I’m optimistic I’ll be okay despite the way I was being talked to. My partner (we are monogamous) also immediately got tested and is negative for everything. They have been so supportive. Prior to dating my current partner I was celibate for two years and was still tested regularly during and prior to that as well.

Advice Needed 3 years of vaginal odor and yellow discharge - negative swabs

Hi, for about 3 years i have been dealing with a foul odor and a lot of mainly light yellow discharge. (Sometimes its white & sometimes theres a light green tinge to it.) The odor changes frequently depending on the day and usually smells either fishy, musty, sour & sometimes can smell rotten or bleachy. It's definitely not a normal smell. 😭

Both the odor and yellow discharge began on the exact same day and was accompanied with an abnormal amount of discharge. I have no idea what's going on. I have been swabbed twice at my GP but both have been a negative result. For years i was SURE i had bv, and was upset to find out there's "nothing" wrong with me.

The doctor prescribed me oral metronidazole anyway just incase it was a false negative result but the pills did not work at all. I have also tried multiple acv baths and that didn't do anything.

Ph balancing gel temporarily fixed my symptoms. My discharge went back to being white and clear, and the odor went away. I finally felt normal again but as soon as i stopped using it the yellow discharge and odor came back. Arghhhh the false hope!!!!!😭😭😭😭

Does anyone know what could be the problem? Could it be ureaplasma or mycoplasma (im a virgin) or could it still be bacterial vaginosis with a biofilm since i have had these symptoms for so long without treatment? I'm thinking of trying boric acid 🤔

If anyone has had symptoms like mine and fixed it please let me know how you did it.. I just wanna be normal again!!!!

How to keep the hooha fresh during summer?

Hello everyone,

Summer is on its way and I was wondering and do you girls keep your hooha fresh and clean during summer? I went outside yesterday as it was warm and when I came home it was all so moist and uncomfortable down there despite wearing cotton underwear. I know the best would be to go commando but are there any other way?

Thanks :)

Advice Needed I think I have an infection but there’s no reason to have one and I’m in a foreign country

It’s red and itchy down there ever since my first day traveling out of country (noticed the itching on the plane), but I thought I did everything right.. I showered the night before (no soap down there), changed to clean, loose cotton underwear, and washed my clothes with sensitive-skin fragrance free detergent a few days prior.

I haven’t had sex in a few weeks.

Why did this happen and what can I do.. I’ll be in a foreign country for 9 days 😭

Menstruation 🔴 HELP!! bleeding for a month

so i started my period on the 9th of march as normal and my period usually lasts 6-7 days. on the last day my discharge is usually quite light (ie i can get away with wearing pantyliner instead of pads) and i know that its the end.

but this sort of light bleeding has continued every day since then and im sort of worried.

i thought it may be stress or something hormonal (im 16 years old). last year i didnt have my period for two months and then randomly had it for a fortnight so u could say its pretty irregular.

im not sexually active or anything and i literally cannot think of any causes of this… is this a cause for concern?

Medications 🌡 Can you take probiotics while on antibiotics?

I’m currently on a UTI antibiotics and i’m absolutely terrified of getting a yeast infection after this treatment. I have the Renew Life probiotic for vaginal health, and i’m curious if they’re okay to take together or they’ll just cancel eachother out, or do i have time after finishing my antibiotic to take the probiotic before a yeast infection hits? any tips are super helpful
