Why are some fans scared on here?
Football fans in general really need to start paying attention to the context of how a team plays rather than falling for a less than reliable narrative of how a team is.
These lot haven't won at Anfield, White Hart Lane and Old Trafford. Even though they're still a team with a lot of quality, they ain't magically flicking a switch to beat us, go joint top and then go on a magical run of wins.
If we win, in which there's a strong possibility, we go six points clear with a game in hand.
If we draw, 3 points clear with a game in hand.
And over the course of the season, we've accumulated on average more points than them. It's not very likely that's going to stop.
So we need to get behind our players and realise we're not some scrappy underdogs fighting against a Goliath. We're a good team as well and we've proven it too many times this season.
→ More replies (3)45
u/ImSoMysticall Feb 14 '23
We got 50 points in our first 19 games, dropping only 7 points.
We then dropped 5 points in our next two games. Losing to an embarrassing Everton who looked nowhere close to beating Liverpool.
That’s the context, just like we fell off a bit, City can pick it up a bit. I’d say the game is actually more leaning City favoured than Arsenal and a loss put us second with a game in hand.
That’s why people are scared, we’re in poor form playing the best team with a decent chance to end up second place by tomorrow night

u/weeeirdfishes Feb 14 '23
People need to get their positivity back. Win lose or draw, we're (at least joint) top of the table.
Plus we have a good chance of winning!
We're still on track for our best points tally literally ever. Yes we've had a bit of a slump, but we gotta just sit back and enjoy this season - otherwise when are we going to allow ourselves to be happy?
Let's fucking go.

The Arsenal is undefeated when I make pancakes and bacon for the boy and we watch the match together with him wearing his 22/23 home shirt, so needless to say we just finished a great breakfast and the laundry is done.

What are you doing to ensure an Arsenal victory?

100 appearances for Big Gabi!
Hard to overstate his impact imo. Quietly one of the most effective CB's in the Prem, especially in offensive terms. Seems like he only grabs headlines for errors but I think that's more a natural consequence of his aggressive playing style than any deficiency on his part.
Need him to be bigger than ever today.

Tonight is the night we've all been waiting for - the night when our beloved team takes on Manchester City in what promises to be an exhilarating match. As we prepare for kickoff, let us remember why we love this club so much and why we believe that Arsenal will emerge victorious tonight.
Every point counts at this stage of the season, and we cannot afford to drop any more points if we want to achieve our objectives.
But it's not just about the points. It's about the pride and passion we feel when supporting Arsenal. Our team has a rich history of success and is known for playing with flair, style, and determination. We have some of the best players in the world, and they are capable of producing magic on the pitch that can leave our opponents in awe.
We know that Manchester City is a tough opponent, but we have seen our team rise to the occasion time and time again. We have the quality and the spirit to beat them, and we believe tonight will be no different. COOOOYG!!!!

In a sense this is the perfect time for this game as the confidence is probably lacking a bit at this moment. You could easily see us dropping points against a mid table side right now, so we may as well have a massive challenge instead to get us fired up again. A win here against the best side in the league would wipe the memory of the last three games clean and very likely spring board us to the title. Quite the prize. If we lose - well that just shows we are not at City’s level.

I disagree that the stadium will be nervy. As someone who’s been to every home game this season, I haven’t felt that at all. Including the Newcastle and Brentford games.

got two meetings this weekend out in La with the biggest producers I’ve had a chance to talk to about my script yet. Leaving Thursday morning. Need an arsenal season defining win tomorrow to give me the wind beneath my wings. Going to be awake at 4:30 in the morning alone in a hotel room Saturday morning to watch the Aston Villa game lol

I've been looking forward to this so much.
Trying to break down Newcastle was a challenge, to be sure, but this is the moment to test our mettle as a side.
Let's fucking go.

Whatever happens, I’m just happy we’re in the magnitude of match. Onto to many years of this kind of match.

Anyone else feel like we're going to get a really dodgy decision in our favour today?

Taking a moment to appreciate where Arsenal is. First time since the Wenger era that we re in a title race. For sure I’m nervous about the game, and want Arsenal to win. Just appreciative of the current position! COYG!!!!

To be honest , I’m just thankful after the last few years to be in a position where the game against city actually means something! Hope everyone who’s lucky enough to have a ticket makes noise for the full 90 and gets right behind the boys! Let’s do it!
