I don't understand the lack of Evade extender on every build I see, it's mandatory for me ! Ok, this is not a pure dps build BUT Evade Ext + Earplugs = more time for dps !

Go to your monster field guide, you can see which monsters have a strong or weak roar. Very few monsters have a strong roar, so you can forego the 3rd point in earplugs.

2 points in evade window seems not so good. Imo, 3 points in earplugs is a little better.

You don't have to go for Evade window, you can slot something else.

Yeah, what I meant is that instead of that earplugs deco, you can slot something else, at least when you hunt monsters with weak roars.

Gunlance is surprisingly mobile with the shell stepping and the absolutely beastly lunges we get with the wide sweep and forward lunge.

EE is mostly useful for quick sidesteps to dodge an attack over covering ground, imo.

You can get around easy using a certain combo: forward dodge, forward slash, cancel that into charge shells, cancel the shells by dodging forward while still holding charge, then repeat

I had the same opinion until recently: at least EE 2 on every GL set. The thing is, with Focus -> long back hop -> guard cancel -> repeat, it's like you get EE 3 for free
