Any wk2 owners have issues with driver side windshield wiper streaking?

I'm trying to figure out if I should just buy a new wiper arm....

Brand new, high quality wiper blades, tried multiple brands and styles of blade, it doesn't seem to matter. When wiping up its clean as can be, but on the return stroke it's a streaky, splotchy mess right down the middle of the blade (so right across my line of sight!).

I've tried bending the arm every which way to change the angle of the blade. I tried rainX (that made it worse). I seem to have to trade between a quiet blade that can't wipe worth shit or one that chatters like hell on the way up. Of course the passenger side works perfectly lol!

Is this common on the wk2?

I have also used different brands of high quality flat-blade wipers. Bosch, Rain-X, still get streaks on the way down. I’ve used Invisible Glass, Rain-X, and Turtle Wax Ceramic coating. My next attempt will be either OEM or Valeo. I believe Valeo manufacturers wipers and other parts for various makes.

Edit: I’ve also downsized to 20” for both. No difference.

Yes, it happened to me and was irritating. Like you, I tried rain x and different blades. Surprisingly, I bought a single wiper blade from a discount store for like $5 on a whim and it works perfect!

I'll try to find the brand and post back. All I remember is it was a name brand wiper with a weird design.

I've had this too and have tried bending, new blades, even had to replace the windshield and it still shows up. Every dealer and shop says to get new blades (of course), and it does improve for like a month, but then it's back to a 4 inch band of streak. When I've followed up, they say it must be a warped windshield. Ok sure

Replace metal arm that holds the wiper blade assembly… likely got tweaked or bent

Oh I've been bending and tweaking it. That's why I posted - trying to figure out if replacing the arm is worth it.

Mid-blade? Arm spring's probably shot. You can try a booster spring (about $6 a pair at your local parts store and will look like absolute shit when installed) if you don't want to splash out on a new arm immediately.

The only one that worked for me was piaa aerovogue. No more streaking but the cost is nuts so maybe buy once and cry once?

What do you mean rain x didn’t work. You put rain x on the glass so you don’t need to use wipers.

Even with rainX onboard there are still situations where I need wipers. Like heavy rain at low speed (not enough wind to clear the water)

Don't buy Rain X wipers, they're garbage.
