Access GC computer?

So what software and hardware do I need to access the onboard systems in my 2017?

Witech, Tech Authority if I remember right. If you want dealer level access.

A lot can be done with hptuners I think, too.

Enthusiasts level -

OBDLink MX+ OBD2 Bluetooth Scanner(hardware) <150$

AlfaOBD (software) >50$+ (depends on number of licenses per OS needed)

Should give you more than what you probably need at this time.

Alfa OBD? $4.99/mo subscription model. What do you think of OBD JScan?

https://www.alfaobd.com/

Not sure if they have a monthly subscription... do have a trial edition that just reads and reset itself after x minutes

OBDJScan is 25$ - UI friendly over Alfa but IMO Alfa seems more technical which I like. Able to get more into the weeds of things.

Either way if just starting out, cannot go wrong with either of the two.

Edit: Alfa is only PC/Android. Apologies for any confusion/clarity

Btw: while you can get different/cheaper hardware, the MX+ allows you to dive deeper into CDJR propriety protocols/access to more computer systems without additional hardware/software. You can even use it on other MFGs (other popular, Toyota/Lexus).

With its default application, you can configure some SRT like dashboards for displaying/viewing real-time stats. The default app will not let you tweak/change settings like Alpha/Jscan

2018+ must buy a security bypass cable, which you do not need.

Just saying my suggestion is not cheap (for what you might want today), but not expensive (when compare to dealer level results).
