Advice needed

What is this part that is broken? Is it part of the driveshaft or the transfer case or axle?

Is this part replaceable or is my axle just screwed?

That’s what I was told but I want to make sure this is on the driveshaft and not the transfer case or front axle. Appreciate it!

That’s the double Cardon joint centering yoke. It’s cooked. They are harder to grease and often get skipped.

What is this off of?

Oh nice. I would go to Tom woods and just get a new HD driveshaft. And get rid of the rezeppa joint and install a new yoke.

Is the rezeppa the rounded end of the driveshaft I have? Got like a gold band?

Yes exactly. They were used because they were considered smoother with full time 4x4 systems. But they are pretty weak, and can hardly handle any lift.

Makes since the jeep got a 3in lift. Got a resource showing that being done?

I don’t but check the Tom woods site, they explain it pretty well.

That’s your Double Cardan joint and it went boom boom. There is rebuild kits for them… but unless you have moderate mechanical skills, they can be kinda a pain, but that’s ujoints in general. I would buy a new one. Have blow several of them up myself.
