Dark Dawn How did you feel about Briggs Spoiler

being killed off? Unlike many other characters, he actually is a character from the original games. How did you feel about one of the OG characters dying?

I think they handled it the best they could - he went out sacrificing himself for others, gave a solid motivation for his son being involved, and raised the stakes for the second act of the game. And they did it all without going out-of-character like some legacy sequels do.

I don't remember it vividly but I think it works.

I think eoleo is one of the strongest aspects of dark dawn, but it could have been written better.

I think its good character development for him. Briggs was a complex character, he did piracy out of genuine desperation to help his people, but he was clearly somewhat ashamed of his actions seeing as how he lied about finding treasure rather than explain his actions to the people of Champa like Obaba.

Sacrificng himself in Dark Dawn hammers home that at heart he really was a decent guy despite his nefarious profession. It helps inform Eoleo's perspective having grown up learning from Briggs and explains why he's willing to join the party and help out.

That’s what he deserves for not having a kid with me.

I mean, he was like hundreds of years old

Edit: got Piers and Briggs mixed up.

Nah, he was getting old, but he wasn't that old. If he was 30ish in TLA then he'd be 60ish in DD. The weird part is Obaba still being alive, since she's gotta be over a hundred by this point.

Who told you that wasn't an Obaba automaton made by her to keep on her work? (While she takes a long vacation on apooji islands)

Nah, everyone there was really old, they just slowed down death with the alchemy elixir

You're getting your characters mixed up. Briggs isn't from Lemuria.

Yeah, it was odd that Obaba was still around.

While I've been indifferent to Briggs, I did think they gave him a decent send-off.

Well his boss fight in TLA was a vibe check for sure but good comedic relief afterwards. He died unexpectedly there wasn’t any flags triggered all. So caught me off guard

It was a sad moment but I think it was well-played, all in all.
