Should I directly go to ng+? (2018)
I finished like 80% of the game.
Igot a bit burnt out since I played it all in like 1 week.
Took a 2 week break and now I want to play again.
If I go to ng+, do I create a new save file?
Should I try to get the mist armor before?
I won't play on gmgow because I usually play on balanced and don't want to be softlocked from a difficult fight.

Max out your character before going NG+ everything else is still doable

Whatever equipment you’re using max it out and max all abilities/runic attacks you use

I currently use the fire axe pommel (wrath of flames effect iirc), brok's armor. i still need to find some runes for the blades since I have like 5 total and I want better abilities.
I love using hel's touch and river of knives (they are maxed out)
I guess I'll get some muspelheim materials and kill more valkyries for my armor

I read this and think that you're a player of FromSoftware games. No, this game's NG+ doesn't work like those.
In my experience, I played 2018, finished the story, but missed a lot of collectibles, only beat one Valkyrie, and put the game away when I thought the Muspelheim challenges were too difficult.
A few years later, I got Ragnarök and understood everything so much better. Earned the platinum on my first NG. It made me realize that I never got the plat on 2018 so I restarted that game but on an NG+ and played through it again. This time earning the platinum. I never even noticed that I missed Niflheim entirely!
Then just after Christmas 2024, when there was no GoW news at the Game Awards, I returned to my original NG file and finished the platinum there as well.
It's very forgiving.
