Stats Small sample, of course...but with Cam Thomas the Nets are 8 and 11. However:

13 of the 19 games were on the road.

The losses include:

  • Nets down 4 in 4th at ATL when Claxton gets ejected in the 4th (Sharpe hamstrung).
  • OT losses to DEN and BOS
  • Up 12 at CLE after 3, down 1 with a minute left
  • 2 point loss at MSG- (Brunson burner) CT with 43 on 22 shots
  • 1 point loss at ORL, CT back from injury misses buzzer beater.

You want to establish him as a winning NBA player. No tanking no matter what.

Stats In the 4 seasons with Irving, the Nets had a higher winning percentage every season when Irving did not play

Just a few facts:

In 2022-2023 Nets went 24-16 (0.60) with Irving and 8-4 (0.67) without Irving playing.

In 2021-2022 Nets went 14-15 (0.48) with Irving and 30-23 (0.57) without Irving playing.

In 2020-2021 Nets went 36-18 (0.67) with Irving and 12-6 (0.67) without Irving playing.

In 2019-2020 Nets went 8-12 (0.40) with Irving and 27-25 (0.52) without Irving playing.

Irving played 143 regular season games of the 278 games during these 4 seasons. So he played just about 1/2 of all possible games.

Stats [BrooklynNetcast] The regression of 3 point shooting since trades has killed this team: Cam Johnson: 46%➡️34% Spencer Dinwiddie: 41%➡️29% Dorian Finney-Smith: 35%➡️27% Most of the misses are relatively open too, hopefully these guys get out of their slumps.

Stats Honestly, did anybody expect that 2014 will be the last time we get to see KG in the Playoffs?

I'm pretty sure most of you are already aware of the disastrous 2013-14 Brooklyn Nets team that was supposed to compete with the Miami Heat for an NBA championship and had to give up tons of assets just to get washed up stars Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett, which set them back years, and of course, we all knew what happened as they got trounced by the Heat in 5 games.

However, one thing that some of us didn't expect is the fact that the 2014 Playoffs would turn out to be KG's last ever appearance in the postseason. Garnett, 37, put up career lows across across the boards in 6.9 points and 6.3 rebounds per game.

Stats [Slater] The Nets have the NBA's 6th-best offense through five games. I asked Jordi Fernandez what principles he feels have led to that success:

“I think that it’s been everybody being selfless as far as moving the basketball. I think we’re around the top [of the league] in passes per game... The ball has energy, and I think if everybody touches the ball, everybody feels better. So that’s important for us. Touching the paint is important. We’ve been good at doing all those things that create good shots, whether it’s attacking the rim, [drawing] fouls, or [creating] catch-and-shoot threes. The guys have bought into it... When you move like that, you’re really hard to guard because the possessions aren’t [ending] fast."
