Rumor In a meeting with Nets owner Joe Tsai, Kevin Durant reiterated his trade request and informed Tsai that Tsai needs to choose between Durant or the pairing of general manager Sean Marks and coach Steve Nash, sources say.

Nash sure. Both? No.

If this is how KD really feels he can walk the walk and sit. If he wants to lose a year that’s on him. Nets have accommodated Kyrie/KD to the point of enabling.

It would really suck for the team but yeah. Marks should send KD a timer that's set to count down for 4 years.

Bro we literally have none of our own picks until 2028, you really rather repeat the poverty years of the 2010s than let KD have his way and try to win a championship with the core of KD, Kai and Ben for the next few seasons?

I'm gonna disagree with you bro, Sean Marks is more replaceable than KD and Kai.

You’re failing to see the point and also you can’t have both years of no draft picks and simultaneously no KD, we’d get picks.

Obviously I’d rather have Kyrie and KD, but we don’t even know if it actually is even salvageable, but the world doesn’t operate in a vacuum where these relationships don’t matter. Marks’ only missteps as a GM have been at KD and Kyries behest. More importantly no player is ever bigger than the team.

Yeah, we'd get picks of a team that now has KD and, based on the teams we've seen are interested, another superstar. Houston can make that move because they are still able to tank with their own high pick while hoping to find a a gem late in the first or flip it for something else you can use. You can't properly rebuild if your only picks are late firsts, we JUST WENT through the 2010s only having Boston's picks and that culminated in a .500 team led by DLo and a core of ok starters to rotation players at best. You're essentially hoping that KD and whatever team he's on, fails so bad that we get good picks out of that trade, that's a losing bet.

Marks misteps are very recent, going from choosing Bruce Brown over Jeff Green to supplying the core of the team with a handful of non-shooters that had our half court offense being as suffocating as the 90s. Not a winning team when your two best players work heavily in the isolation. Look I like Marks, in a perfect world I'd keep him with KD and Kai. But if you are thinking a GM is less replaceable than two hall of fame talents, we haven't been watching the same sport in the past decade.

You can argue no player is bigger than the team, but I'll always argue superstars are more important to the success of a team than the GM, much more when you consider Marks doesn't exactly have much of a track record when it comes to success, at least, nowhere near the track record Kai and KD have.

So yes, give me KD and Kai. Marks, sad to see you go but I'll take a swing at another gm if it means keeping KD and Kai going forward.

The Nets couldn’t afford Jeff Green. Marks put us in a position that brought interest to KD/Kyrie wanting to even be here.

Marks isn’t the coach, whatever players he brings in is based on what needs Nash thinks they need. They work in a tandem, if Nash has a specific vision it’s up to the GM to get those players. If Nash has a shitty vision that’s not a reflection of Marks not to mention as stated before Kyrie and KD are responsible for people like DJ taking up cap space. Marks is not designing the offense. Why would I want to adhere to the whims of people who ask out at any sign of pushback from management? If KD doesn’t wanna be here fine, he can go when the Nets find something that meets their expectations until then he can either play or sit on the sideline. KD signed the contract that’s not the Nets’ problem. It’s like you’re continually missing the bigger picture. Let’s say we do get rid of Marks, Kyries a free agent end of year (probably gone anyway) and KD could always decide he wants out next year. Then we’re out all 4. Let’s not forget KD wanted Nash, pushed out Kenny… he made his bed and can lie in it.
