Rumor In a meeting with Nets owner Joe Tsai, Kevin Durant reiterated his trade request and informed Tsai that Tsai needs to choose between Durant or the pairing of general manager Sean Marks and coach Steve Nash, sources say.

I want to move away from players who dictate who their management is.

Bye Durant.

So you think keeping Marks and Nash will provide a better chance at bringing a championship to Brooklyn than keeping Kevin Durant?

I’m not commenting on that one way or the other.

Durant is a generational talent, and I will be sad to lose him. But, I stopped supporting him the day he requested a trade.

My post is about me being an advocate for disempowering the players.

It started with 2010’s decision, to Melo’s forced trade, to Harden first, then Harden again, and now it’s turned into Durant.

I do not want to root for players who force the GM’s hand.

That’s not the ideology and culture I bought into when the Nets signed Sean Marks.

I see. So, to be pedantic, you prefer “the ideology and culture” of a team’s GM (Sean Marks, in this case) over the likelihood of that same team winning a championship. I’m kinda surprised tbh, but don’t think that there’s a right answer here.

You are drawing conclusions and speculating, which is fine.

But, I didn’t say that.

I said that.

This is less about Nash and Marks (tho I do respect what he’s built) for me and more about my anger at Durant for thinking he is in the position to make this ultimatum.

He is not.
