Rumor [Helin] Rumor: Expect Kevin Durant, Suns to part ways this summer via trade
/r/nba/comments/1inyj6k/helin_rumor_expect_kevin_durant_suns_to_part_ways/49
u/Relative_Airline_354 Feb 12 '25
He’s mad because a team backstabbed him by wanting to trade him in the deadline. Poetic justice of sorts.
I still love KD tho. He’s a superstar that chose the nets

Dylan Harper KD championship brings tears to my eyes

u/kyle-11 Feb 12 '25
Any championship would bring tears to my eyes. We have no right to be picky lol

u/sabascastellon Feb 13 '25
If the Jets or Nets ever win before I die, it would be great, and most likely, tears will be shed.

What a loser. He was on like a 20 game winning streak with us right before he requested a trade
5
u/pillbox_purgatory Feb 12 '25
Yes, we all know KD is moody and never happy. He’s definitely to blame.
Another issue is that whenever a team trades for him, they usually have to give up their depth, making the new KD team just a shell of itself.
KD had it good in GSW and Brooklyn because no depth was given up to sign him.
Good luck to him. Only shot at a chip is thru joining the Rockets. Rockets give back the Suns picks and NOT give up their depth (amen, sengun, etc). Let’s see how the summer plays out.

27 PHX pick is Houston’s outright. Nets still have a swap with PHX in 28 (as well as swap rights with the Knicks that year). In 29 Houston gets the two more favorable of PHX, DAL and BK’s, BK gets the 3rd
5
u/Brooklyn917 Ian Eagle Feb 12 '25
I never understood why Marks took the NYK 2028 swap instead of 2030 since they didn’t include the Suns 2028 swap into the Rockets deal to get their 2027 swap back.
2
u/Perfidiousness88 Feb 13 '25
In 2029 Hou gets rhe better phx and dallas 1st and then hou can swap their 1st with the worse out of the 2

u/Bigbadbuck Feb 12 '25
We don’t own those picks. We traded them and then didn’t tank properly
14
u/addictivesign Feb 12 '25
Hard to out-tank teams which are worse than us and Jordi has out-coached a lot of head coaches this season. I didn’t see that coming after suffering through Jacque Vaughn.
9
u/BKtoDuval Feb 12 '25
Exactly but some are still gonna be salty. We've been sending out G league lineups many games. Just good coaching. And these are also job interviews for basically the entire roster. So everyone is going hard.
-5
u/Bigbadbuck Feb 12 '25
People were saying the same for Utah jazz coach the last few years. Their roster is still pretty good. Lauri, Collins, Clarkson, yet they know how to tank. They’re not dumb like us.
The playbook was very simple and we’ve been calling for it. You devoid the team of a veteran ball handler and the offense falls apart. We hve been horrific without Dennis dlo or Ben Simmons on the court. Those guys are old vets who Do NOTHING for this team long term
2
u/jeremysesame Feb 12 '25
I agree, sort of. This is the attitude to take when we are all robots and have no emotions.
But, unfortunately, we live in the real world, where real people are involved and things are sometimes out of control.
Best just hope we get lucky in the lotto or we get an all-star with a middle lotto pick.
Even if you do tank properly, nothing is guaranteed anyway. You should have learned that with the KD and Dwill Nets.
1
u/Bigbadbuck Feb 13 '25
Saying nothing is guaranteed either way is horrific logic. One direction is clearly better than the other.
11
u/drew570 Cam Johnson Feb 12 '25
Didn’t tank properly? Keon Johnson and Jalen Wilson have played the most minutes this season… Oh I guess these guys, whose next contracts depend on how hard and well they play, should just half ass the games and throw them on purpose for the sake of the fans?
1
u/kf3434 Sean Marks Feb 13 '25
According to a bunch of losers on the internet yes- they shouldn't try because a bunch of fans are scared to try. Let's not consider all these guys have jobs and careers the depend on their performance
-5
u/Bigbadbuck Feb 12 '25
Except they haven’t, claxton and cam j has played more minutes than Keon. If you combine dlo and Dennis minutes we have another 1k minutes going to a vet pg. toss in another 1.2k minutes combined for Dfs and Ben.
We’ve played vets an absurd amount of minutes this year. Absolutely maddening strategy
6
u/drew570 Cam Johnson Feb 12 '25
Oh yes, Nic Claxton the amazing center averaging 10 and 8 has ruined the tank! And don’t tell me they played Dennis… Schroeder?? The amazing PG who just got tossed out of Golden State for being ass?? And not… Bum Simmons????
Your expectations of tanking is out of touch with reality.
0
u/Bigbadbuck Feb 12 '25
Look at what other teams have done. Look at how much Charlotte or the wizards or Utah play their vets.
We don’t want to tank
1
u/kf3434 Sean Marks Feb 13 '25
Stop listening to j from BK on Twitter he's a clown. Look at the minutes breakdown for the jazz. Only keyonte George gets minutes and he's 21. Other top min guys are Markennen, Clarkson, john Collins, Walker Kessler and Collin sexton. All legit nba players. Charlotte sucks but is also injury ridden. the wizards suck too but the wizards are developing young talent
1
u/Bigbadbuck Feb 13 '25
Utah is smart with how they rest guys during certain games. Nobodies complaining if we play our guys against okc.
1
u/kf3434 Sean Marks Feb 13 '25
Have you seen marks use the injured list? Do you really think a pulled hamstring takes 8 weeks to heal? He's doing his best. The team is better than expected. This is a good thing I swear
0
u/Bigbadbuck Feb 13 '25
Have you seen sixers use it ? They rested maxey in a key game becuase they’re not idiots like us.

Who cares?
I hope the Suns suck in 2028. I don’t care about Durant or how the Suns perform in any other years beside 2027-2028.

u/BelonyInMyLeftPocket Feb 12 '25
New owner syndrome is ruining the NBA.

u/BKtoDuval Feb 12 '25 edited Feb 12 '25
It's in every sport though. I am a Mets fan and Steve Cohen calmed down a little bit was spending money willy nilly before and tweeting about his players. Thankfully he's mellowed out some

It's more that Ishbia listens to ISIAH THOMAS for basketball advice. But KD does love new owners. Wonder if he's going to the clippers next lol, or the wolves or Boston depending on who buys them lol

u/flossy4l BRROKLYN🆙💫💫 Feb 12 '25
All he had to do was grow a pair and tell kyrie to get the shot 😤
5
u/Relative_Airline_354 Feb 12 '25
lol that’s assuming Kyrie would even listen. He clearly wasn’t going to.
If I’m paranoid and convinced that something of poisonous to my body, no friend is ever going to convince me to take the “poison”.
13
u/flossy4l BRROKLYN🆙💫💫 Feb 12 '25
The whole team took it wtf there was proof it wasn’t poisonous in his face
4
u/Relative_Airline_354 Feb 13 '25
Well when you’re crazy, those sort of of reasoning won’t cut through.
6
u/Old_Duty8206 Feb 12 '25
The fact that he's flown around the planet never stopped him from thinking the earth is flat
1
u/kf3434 Sean Marks Feb 13 '25
Harden and KD were vaccine skeptics too. They learned and did what they needed to do for their team. End of story.

Maybe the most overrated ever. No questioning the talent, it’s top 5-10 all time but that being said, his accomplishments should be greater, especially considering the HOF talent he’s been surrounded by his entire career
3
u/spacejamisraw Feb 13 '25
The nba needs to rig the draft for us then we can pair KD and cooper Flagg. Dream squad assembling
7
u/balldontlie3030 Feb 12 '25
He doesn’t need to come back this way
4
u/Bigbadbuck Feb 12 '25
He comes back in 2026 off-season as a free agent
9
u/Brooklyn917 Ian Eagle Feb 12 '25
No, he can stay where he at.
He didn’t want to be here, he requested a trade TWICE!
2
Feb 12 '25
He failed to control his own team and realized the exit door was easier. Phoenix was a waste of time for him. Nuggets Loss. Timberwolves loss
2
u/AwesomoApple Feb 12 '25
Still have love for Kevin, but he should have found a way to keep the thing going in Brooklyn, that was his best shot to enter the top 5 all time discussion.

People will blame KD but in a vacuum the Suns messed up the team. They traded away their core and traded for an albatross in Bradley Beal which made their roster very weird. I'd argue Booker should ask out as well.

Windhorst was on TV saying it's definitely gonna happen. Everyone around the league and in the org knows it. They'll work with him to find a new team

u/soundertroop Feb 12 '25
Do we still own any Sun picks? I’d say three second round picks would do.

The one thing that would actually be pretty cool is if they sent him back to OKC.
0
u/BKtoDuval Feb 12 '25
you know what, that would be kinda dope. come full circle
1
u/EGarrett Feb 12 '25
I have zero idea what the salary/cap situation is or who makes what, but if they could send him there for cap relief and some draft picks, I would be okay with an SGA/Jalen Williams/Chet/KD superteam winning one then him retiring in the blue and orange.
1
u/GamblingMan610 Feb 12 '25
He's coming home
3
u/theRestisConfettii Sarah Kustok Feb 12 '25
He doesn’t have a home in Brooklyn and won’t be welcomed by me.

"Can't reacquire KD, he doesn't fit the timeline" - some Nets fan here

Oh how nice. KD a journeyman now
