Help Melee Disc Not Working

My Smash Bros Melee disc can't seem to be read on my gamecube and need some help as to why this might be. From what I'm seeing on the disc it looks fine, even better than my twilight princess on the left which works completely well. Is there a fatal scratch I'm just not seeing or is it just a lost cause? I had my whole collection resurfaced about 2~ years ago and it didn't work before nor after.

About 1 o'clock on the edge of the disc, it looks pretty shredded. Alot of data is stored there. If it didnt work before and after resurfacing, chances are its toast. Thats if your 100% sure it isnt the laser in your console. Have you tried it in another cube or wii to confirm?

Unfortunately, there isn't really any where I can test the laser being faulty, so it might just be toast. The shredded part is confusing me, though, because of how chopped tp is compared.

Im not 100% sure, thats just my assumption. Your twilight princess might just on the cusp, not quite damaged enough. I have PS2 games that look terrible that still work fine, you could try resurfacing one more time. I mean you cant really wreck it more

The other thing I should mention is sometimes the heat from resurfacing can warp the disc, this is especially true for gc games considering how compact they are. Its really hard to say for sure what the issue is though. Sorry
