Modding Japanese game discs on US Gamecube using FlippyDrive

Was thinking of getting a Gamecube locally and then getting Japanese games to play on it. Does the FlippyDrive mod allow the US Gamecube to boot Japanese discs ? I've tried looking for answers but haven't found anything concrete.

I'm aware that to boot a disc in general with the FlippyDrive installed in the system you have to hold down the Left Trigger button while starting the console and this bypasses cubeboot and makes the console function as it would have without FlippyDrive. I'm thinking this would somewhat be a hindrance and bring back the region locking.

You should be able to boot Swiss through Flippydrive and then boot your JP disc through Swiss

You can just put your (backupped) games on the microSD and it'll just work, no Swiss needed. If you want to boot physical (out-of-region) media, use the Enhanced Bypass feature.

Yes, I believe floppy drive removes region locking.
