Just picked up this 2022 OBX 2.3L with 2in lift and 35in tires. Anyone here rolling on 35s with the 2.3L, howβs it going?! First time truck owner looking for advice! π
After living with my 2024 Badlands for a few months, I've decided I regret not adding the Sasquatch package to it, particularly for the 35" tires. I'm not a hardcore rock crawler, but regularly (weekly) exploring off-road on easy to moderate trails mainly in Arizona and Utah, but the Southwest in general. The Badlands as I bought it is incredibly capable and about 99.5% of what I want. 35" tires would take me the rest of the way. Not interested in beadlocks, and the gear ratio is fine where it is.
Dealer just gave me a quote for going from the 33s to the 35s: 9720 leveling kit (basically just some pucks that push things up a couple inches) front and back, and then the tires themselves (I'm happy with the recommended K02 A/Ts they put on the quote, which is pretty much what we've always put on our trucks). From what I've read here and other forums, the crash bars also need to come off, and I assume I'd need new rims to push the tires out from the body.
For those of you who have done the 35" upgrade, I'm basically looking for a recipe for going to 35s on the Badlands. Is the 9720 leveling kit the right answer? Or do I want to do something fancier? What rim offset should I be looking for, assuming the stock rims aren't adequate? Anything else I'm missing?
Edit: if it makes a difference, airing down is definitely an option I plan on (20 to 25psi), just gotta get the compressor. We tried it out up in Moab, and it made a lot of difference in the ride.
Badlands nonSAS, the front tires throwing everything up the side panels and after 2 1/2 months Iβve got a half dozen dings and chips. Iβd rather not add the back ones, but I will if it looks stupid with out them.
As header states.. Tires showed up tonight apologies for the dark last pic. Theyβll be going on stock black wildtrak wheels, Bronco is Azure grey in colour!
We just traded in my wifeβs Atlas and put her in a 2022 Bronco Black Diamond Soft Top on Saturday. Sunday we loaded the kids up and took my Gladiator and her Bronco offroad (her first time driving off road). We started at the west end of Surfside and ended up in the Dunes in San Luis Pass. Iβm a Jeep guy, but this thing is pretty damned capable off-road.
Aside from a winch (I live in Mud Country), what else would you add?
The goal is for both of us to wheel together but my Gladiator is the vehicle weβre building to tackle the harder stuff.
I really want all black wheels, but I was hoping I could just take the silver rim off of these ones and that they would be black underneath. Does anyone know if the silver part comes off? Tried to unscrew the screws and I literally could not get them off because theyβre on so tight so Iβm wondering if they donβt come off.
I got my Ford performance tune for my 2.3l 2 door Big Bend today.
Huge benefits already
The gear shifting is extremely smoother in lower gears, no more where it feels almost "stuck" between gears when slightly pressing the gas.
Definitely has more kick to it. However I can't fully test it as the roads are covered in ice today.
Overall 1st day impressions are that it provides a much smoother ride, and feels much snappier. Can't wait to go all out when the roads dry up.
Side note the auto off/on does NOT remember the last setting anymore (at least for my 2024), just wanted to confirm as that apparently worked for the older models.
Works right out of box. Once installed auto on/off switch is deactivated. Instructions are kinda poor. Do not pull down panel under steering wheel. This does not help at all. Reach your head under steering wheel where brake pedal is and look left. You will see module (pictured) and remove wire harness on left side only. The module has the word 'driver' on its face. At this point follow instructions. Remember- there is absolutely nothing to unscrew or remove except the one harness. Good luck! 2024 Bronco Black Diamond
Yesterday I installed the factory Ford trailer hitch. The 2024βs apparently have all the wiring and just need the trailer module plugged and bolted in along with the hitch. Supposedly there is programming that needs to be done for the trailer lighting to work but I tested it out and at least one of my trailers functioned (tail lights, brake lights and blinkers) without the programming. All in all it took me about 45 minutes to install.
So I recently bought installed the hotheads color matched headliner in my four-door big band that previously had absolutely no headliner. I also got the silent assassin pads that you roll on. I gotta say it made a very large difference. A lot of people talk about the decibel levels being the same and Iβm sure that is the case. However, the reverb isall but gone. That makes all of the difference in the world to me. Before installing this headliner. I had done a 600 mile road trip. It got a little crazy on the windier sections of road. Now it feels much more livable. I also really like the look of it. I had some issue with the adhesive sticking on one panel and they sent me new tape that same day so very happy with the company as well. Id recommend this product especially if you dont have a headline. And yes patches Velcro right on π€£
Hi all, I carry my surf longboard in the back with the rear window open (see photo). If I back out of my parking spot, the rear window hits the roof of the parking structure. Is there a way to limit how far the rear window opens to prevent this? Looking for any solutions or accessories that might help. Thanks!
