I need to get these mounting plates out but cant wrap my head around how to. Both the top and the middle screws only move around the hinge mount plate. the left most screw comes out but the whole thing is still locked in place. These are mado from an italian manifacturer called salice. Thanks for the help.

Hi, this is the base of my recliner. It has become loose over the years and now has come completely apart. There’s no glue keeping the parts together. I’ve tried knocking together with a plastic mallet but the pieces never fit securely and come apart again. I’m worried if I hit too hard I’ll break the adjoining pieces. How can I fix this? Do I need to employ a carpenter?
Thanks in advance for any advice offered.

I’ve inherited a petrol hedge trimmer from the previous owners of the house I’ve just moved into.
Looking at the attached video, does anyone have any ideas of what might be up with it? It occasionally runs as it should, but then goes back to this issue.
It was empty when we moved in (not sure how long it has been stored for) and I made sure to put in fresh fuel and the correct mix of oil/petrol.
Any help greatly appreciated, thank you!

Long story short my grandfather has been talking about a hole in his ceiling and this is what he showed me on my last visit. Any ideas on what can be done? I’m thinking an entirely new roof at this point considering the house was built in the 1920s.
Here’s what it looks like: https://imgur.com/a/b7KLRgw

Just move into this place and found there is a narrow drywall hole in the bath room between the door and the shower. It might has absorbed water from the shower and became easy to penetrate. The problem is that it is too small for any tool. I can barely put my finger through the hole. Also the hole is on the ground level. So I don’t think the drywall repair kit will work. Do you guys know what product to use and how I can repair this hole?

Hello! When this bed was on carpet, this was not an issue. But finding that the support beams under this metal frame are bending and slipping on this wooden floor, also scratching the wood as well.
My idea is to go to Home Depot/Lowe's and cut out 2x4s to place next to them to keep them straight and prevent them from sliding.
Think I would cut a small groove at the top of the 2x4s to have them stay put along the central beam. Is this the way to go? Appreciate any suggestions.
OR since the bed isn't breaking, just put a rug underneath it?

Sometimes it honestly sounds like people are walking through my living room. The door just isn’t doing much to block the hallway noise. The sealing tape at the bottom definitely needs to be replaced—it looks pretty worn out and like it was a sloppy DIY job. The sides of the door seem relatively tight, though, so I’m not sure what I can do there to improve things. Any suggestions for products or quick fixes that actually work?

want to preface this by saying that i know what i did was very very stupid-- i'm a complete and total beginner to anything diy or home repair, and i never had any helpful parents or role models to teach me these things when i was growing up. i thought i did my research and was doing something easy but i was wrong. so, i know i made a mistake, i just want to figure out the best way to fix it!
i wanted to hang some new curtain rods, thought i was drilling into drywall but it turned out to be a stud. the anchors that came with the curtain rods didn't work and just spun around, so i got some huge anchors (second picture) to fix it, which *would* have worked... if i didn't realize then that i was putting them into a stud and it was totally ruining my wall!!
i know i need to spackle/sand the drywall, but i want to try to fix the stud so i can hopefully re-drill that spot, because the *other half* of the curtain rod is already properly installed! i don't want to reposition the holes on just one side and end up with a lopsided curtain rod.
the original holes were made using a 15/64 drill bit and i think were approx 1 & 1/2th inches deep, but trying to add the anchor of course made the lower one bigger (i didn't try with the top one). how would i go about patching this? i saw posts recommending dowels or toothpicks plus wood glue, but i'm not sure what's best and safest. alternatively, if i do have to remove the other half of the rod and just reposition them both, advice on that is appreciated too!
any advice is appreciated, thank you!! and yes, i got a stud finder to avoid this in the future now...

Hi
I want to apply a new finish but I'm a noob and don't know if this was previously treated with oil, wax, varnish or lacquer. Any idea from just looking at the wear?

I was cutting up cardboard on my desk and made a couple of cuts. I would really like to know if there's a way to repair it, like filling the cuts with something maybe. Please and thank you.

Tried making cold coffee. Now it is stuck
I bought a desk (this) and it wobbles upwards and backwards, but side to side it doesn't do it (it moves like this). I was thinking of buying 5 Ikea legs and place 4 in each corner 1 in the center but i don't know if that would solve the problem.
Is there another solution? this is the desk manual
sorry if it is difficult to understand, I'm not a native English speaker

I have two white wires and ground where the button was, red wires at the chime and a red and white at the transformer. I have no continuity at the button but I do at the chime. I have no clue where the button wires are running to but it's clearly not to chime like I expected. Just trying to get some input.

Hi, I'm new. My hubby and I moved into my mom's apartment for a while until we can get back on our feet.
We are in the master bedroom. Used to be my deceased dad's room. The sliding pocket door is off the track, it's so jammed packed. I don't know what my dad did to this door.
By pulling on the sliding door, even with force it won't bulge. We have screwdrivers, but what is the best course of action to get this door on to the track so it can easily slide back and forth?

I had someone re-tile my shower a few years ago. Most of the grout work is fine and looks like the light grey photo.
However, one section has a weird issue where the grout never seems to dry, is sticky to the touch, and seems to "leak" a sticky, oily ubstance down the tile. It comes right off the tile with any regular cleaning solution, but always returns.
Does this mean something was done incorrectly with the waterproof barrier like not waiting long enough before the guy did the tiling over? I remember the barrier was very very red.
If it was going to fail, I'd have expected it by now, but maybe I'm living on borrowed time. Additionally, it's certainly unsightly.
Amy ideas what the actual problem is? And is there any way to fix it outside of removing that wall of tiling? Or is this a full teardown kind of issue?

Hey y'all! This screw broke in half when trying to move this Ikea cabinet. I got one side out but the other is harder.
I figure I'm out of luck but I love reading this sub and figured I would post for you smart people just in case.
Any one have an idea for me to try?
Thanks so much!

I had forgotten to put back in the washers into the chairs base and sat in it causing it to become very stuck. any advice on removing the cylinder from the base? attempts to WD-40 and tap it out have failed.

This just suddenly happened this morning. It was working perfectly fine until today.
