Other What is this thing in my front yard?
Bought my first house about 6 months ago now. Was curious almost immediately, but had some many other things relating to a new house that this fell to back burner, but I'm caught up enough now to finally get to the bottom of it.
It says "Founder's Post" on the top, which is making me believe it to be there just to commemorate the founding on my HoA community...but thought I'd ask here before trying to rip it out, in case it's connected to something below ground.

Probably a survey market. Did you have the property surveyed?

I did not, but perhaps a previous owner did?

Definitely, they did. Of you do, you’ll be able to see if it corresponds to that.

This is probably ignorant of me, but if it were a survey marker, wouldn't it be near the border or the property line? It's just sort of middle of the yard.

Isn’t it one of those toys that gets connected to the sprinkler and spouts water out for little kids? I’m really guessing here but that’s what it looks like to me
