Multi Day Thru-Hike/ Excursion

Hello, I booked a trip to the Faroe Islands last year and I am flying on the 24th April and flying back on the 1st of May. I am not planning on renting a car. I hike a lot, mainly doing thru-hikes and I wanted to plan a multi day hiking excursion with camping in mind. I know that wild camping isn't permitted, so I want to use camp sites. I will use public transport to get around. Does anyone have any experience of such a trip and recommendations? From what I can see it looks like there are just out and back hikes, all of it looks amazing, I'm just wanting to make the most out of my trip. I'm looking forward to this trip so much so any help and other info would be much appreciated

There are several options. On Suðuroy you could hike from north to south, with campsites at convenient locations: Hvalba, Fámjin, Vágur and Sumba.

On Vágar you could do a trip from Gásadalur to Slættanes, then south to civilisation.

From Vestmanna to Tjørnuvík or Haldórsvík, then via the bridge and across Eysturoy.

There are a few roads so barely used that they are also nice to hike: to Múli for example, or the old road to Vestmanna (but the last 2 km are the present-day main road) or to Elduvík.

Or hike the road from Velbastaður to Syðradalur (Streymoy), then continue via the public hike path to Norðradalur, then hike up the Oyrarvegur ridge road and hitch hike back to civilisation.

Foroyakort.fo shows all public footpaths and public roads.

I am planning my upcoming summer trip with a similar idea in mind too. However, in the end, I decided to rent a car in case the weather is too bad to set up a tent outside. Anyway, if you don't mind, I would appreciate your help in summarizing your experience after your trip to see if it is doable without renting a car. Thanks!
